Considering she was blacklisted during these times, this song faired well and was a hit in the clubs as well.
As for the meaning of the video...she's goddess of space dancing in the milkyway... you'll need to think dirty with the end part 😂. Orbs represent her eggs and everything else...💦
Janet is the queen of dance. I would even go so far to call her an original. By the time she had her first successful album, Michael had already polarized the world with his catalog.
No female singers were dancing like Mike was and Janet came along and filled that void. She was inspiration for Paula Abdul who also was one of Janet’s early choreographers, J Lo who was also one of Janet’s dancers, and of course Britney who admired Janet as did the late Aaliyah and Beyoncé 🙌
This video is one of her best so creative. And the chorus harmonies are very good. And yes they do remind me of the alien in Alien.
The person who picked these definitely likes Janet’s uptempo stuff and she has a diverse catalogue within the music realm so methinks we need Janet Week 2

You guys DEFINITELY have to do another Janet week! Actually maybe a few more lol😂! I like this song but it's definitely not one of her classics. You guys should react to her songs Rhythm Nation, If, Escapade, That's The Way Love Goes, I Get Lonely, Black Cat, Runaway, Alright, Doesn't Really Matter, Son Of A Gun, I Want You, Come Back To Me, and Let's Wait Awhile for starters. Maybe even do a week for songs she was featured on. She has so many songs just one week isn't going to do Janet any justice.
There MUST be additional Janet weeks. Rhythm Nation and If are absolutely essential. Also Pleasure Principle, That's The Way Love Goes, I Get Lonely, Got TIl It's Gone, Alright ..... just so many!

So many good grooves off that album: Luv, Rollercoaster, Rock With U, So Much Betta, What's Ur Name, & Curtains.

This song is forever a bop and this was great comeback song for her always should return to music with a banger first in my opinion.
