they mentioned that Gerry had a love hate relationship with the marionettes. He said that himself in interviews. Thunderbirds is unique in TV/film productions in that it's difficult to copy or improve upon. There was a CGI version which ran on ITV a while back, that just didn't work at all. A film version was made with real humans, Ben Kingsley as the Hood. Even worse. . Anderson himself said it was the biggest load of crap he'd seen. It seems the puppets with their oversized heads and hands have left their mark in TV history...
I would like to see some of behind the scenes shots from the Thunderbirds episodes like: Pit of Peril, City of Fire, Sun Probe, The Peril of Penelope, Terror in New York City, Edge of Impact, 30 Minutes After Noon, Cry Wolf, Danger at Ocean Deep, Attack of the Alligators, Atlantic Inferno and Path of Destruction. Because I'm very curious to know how the Jerry Anderson team manage to do each scene shots especially how to make they manage to make Thunderbird 3 looks like it launch from under neath the round house at it's huge size.
Love these behind the scenes shorts and the puppeteers views on things. You just do not realise what they went through. Can we have the Move and You're Dead video now please? LOL Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all the guys and gals at Century 21 Films
Thank you! Fascinating stuff, as ever.
