First race back in 6 months and it demonstrates everything I want from this sort of game. The race itself was a slow burner but it was really fun seeing the strategy's play out and see the strengths and weaknesses of the different cars. Hoping the driver swap system will be easy to use when it comes!
Thank you Jimmy. This is really important. The guys at S397 deserve all our support and the MSG guys that are working with them are really good people too: real lovers of racing, simracing and working balls to the wall under a depressing cloud of unwarranted negativity to what is, a labour of love and passion with a firm commitment to provide an accurate simulation and driving experience... the ultimate illusion. Please, support this project. These guys deserve it.
LMU seems to be hitting the same strategy as ACC really well - instead of trying to do everything quite well, it's being the best in class at one thing, exciting to see how much wider reaching the audience for the game will be after a couple more updates
Not only that but the GT3s feel fantastic as well, drive really well, it's shaping up to be a legitimate contender with the likes of iRacing and ACC if they can nail the only aspect with driver swaps I have no doubt it will be in that mix.
@@thomaswf7284 I can't be the only person concerned about player count when talking about "iRacing competitors" its the one thing keeping me from buying LMU
Sad because I think a ton of console players would buy it considering acc Forza and GT are our only real options on console. They would easily make there money back
@Mancitydiehard for sure. I don't disagree. The console market is huge. The main problem is Microsoft and PlayStation network charge money for added reviews before they allow a package to deploy. With steam on PC, developers are free to do what they want with updates and even beta releases for testing groups. This is why pc generally leads consoles.
Been wanting to buy this game. Have they added driver swaps to multiplayer yet and if not does anyone know a time frame of when they might if they’ve announced it?
How to motor map work? Proper lmdh/hypercar that max power is the same it just changed the amount of hybrid used is it the same here? Is it automatic or a manual change?
@ in irl do the drivers actually manage that them self? Seems like a system that could manage itself. A old interview on the 919 they apparently did not touch the hybrid much in the race, just let it work.
@@Infigo96 Yes the drivers adjust the modes themselves, but they also have the race engineer telling them which mode to use depending on fuel strategies etc etc.
I got news! My moza R5 is coming in this weekend! Ordered it during cyber monday but they were already out of stock lmao anyways, once it gets in, I'm finally gonna try ACC ( I've had it and been collecting DLC's since January 2024)
to be fair to it, wasnt it plagued by reliability issues? as well as wingless was just for lemans, the sim taking out a lot of the mechanical variability maybe its just representing its true theoretical performance
@@curious_ember It was mostly reliablity indeed, gearbox notably. Also, it was a nightmare to drive according to the drivers on bumpier circuits, i don't know how much it's transcribed in this game.
@@MrKanooe yeah, the concept itself seem very Lemans focused, though that bumpy issue im sure the corner into the mulsane would be hell.. the game is definitely making up for any of the mechanics woes though, makes me wonder if the concept purely for lemans works, wit the new gearbox/drive train that theyve developed forol the gen 2. if theyre also using ground effects then nvm, cause thatd b a whole redesign im sure
Can someone tell me if this game is worth buying on sale? Is the community good, are they ram heavy, do they follow racing rules, etc? I'm looking for something to play over the holidays.
Heya, to those who have played LMU: You think it's worth buying now, even though it's in early access? I have basically every other major sim(aside from Factor), and wondering if it's worth buying this one now, or waiting. :D
Better save up your money as we/ ie you get older income/housing food money runs out. As we age reflex s get slower what will your audience be in 20 years? Your a good guy I'm saying just plan for old age.
I feel like the radar makes people drive more aggressively in this game. I have definitely noticed that the driving standards here are more aggressive than in other games, and I have had multiple incidents of being taken out, especially being pit maneuvered. I am a newbie and am not a racecraft expert, but I think that every turn is a negotiation, and that people are trying to negotiate or communicate using the radar in a way, instead of the radar being passively used if that makes sense, for example even if the person behind me wasn't alongside at all into a corner, they seem to think that since i can see them on the radar stick the nose on my rear tire midway through the corner, that I will change my line mid corner or yield somehow, where if the radar wasn't there I would have no way of seeing them and of course they wouldn't stick the nose in half way through my line. Maybe I just need to learn how to be defensive in this game, expecting some more bold dives and such.
Yeah, you should be defensive when the situatuion calls for it. If you leave the door open and the car behind you is really close you are inviting a dive. So instead of taking the risk just close the door early (ideally slowing the car behind on exit so he doesn't get a good run on you on the following straight)
But I do think there's too much of a Sprint mentality in LMU, even in the longer races. In the top split not so much, but even Split 2 is a "I'm gonna win it in T1" fest, even if the race is 90min and requires 2 pit stops.

LMU LMGT3 is so much fun!!
Can’t wait for LMU to have driver swaps😍🙏
Also Saftey cars and full course yellows to really increase the chance of chaos
James baldman and jimmer broadbent racing together would be awesome
lmu wont be around for that long i think
in the coop mode you can do driver swaps

Last test of 2024 written today, going out in town with friends, acc ffb on ps4 finally works, and new video from Jimmy. Life is good

Endurance prototypes! Stream highlights! BAILEY!!! Christmas has come early guys
Christmas of 2018 😁
Love the condensed race highlights with editing. This stuff rules and it looks like you're back in the groove again ❤️
Great I get to see Jimmy destroy me at 4:05 all over again
Ps Sorry for bump in 1st chicane
Was a great race and demonstrated what LMU can be. Really enjoying it since the new update and just starting to wrap my head round the Hypercars.
I’m loving it since the update. Definitely amongst the best to drive
LMU did a great job with the LMGT3 Pack it really boosted the player based
4:02 the mind punt
I'll have to play this later today. Haven't driven it in months
jimmer and boiley in one car - like in the good old tractor days

This is the video that's convinced me to try the game. Thanks jumba
This is exactly what I needed during finals week. Thank u jimmer 🙏🙏🙏
Really hope this comes out on console soon.
Well over a year away.
And even then. MSG needs more funding to survive, let alone get a console port in the works.
It's gonna be 12-24 months away mate. Still a lot of focus on PC, unless a partner comes in to do a console port, similar to Kunos with ACC.
