@Wol1427 I can see that, however, most in this video are literally 1 to 1 with BT3's voice lines. It would be physically impossible for them to recreate the exact tone the lines have that I have shown mainly because BT3's voice lines were most likely recorded back in 2006 which was 19 years ago. Bardock's intro vs Raditz, SS4 Goku's and Super Baby 2's interaction (honestly, all of Baby's voice lines in this video except for the Great Ape one are ripped straight from BT3), and the Garlic Jr ones I put in here.

There's the re-recorded one for the moveset, but also the original BT2/3 version as well. It can be heard in the story mode when he uses it against Zarbon during a cutscene. You can tell due to how rough Sabat's voice is for Vegeta back then compared to how he's been voicing him since Kai. I know there's a few other instances that pop up during story mode's cutscenes, but I don't recall the exact ones.
GT Kid Goku has a different VA, but there was an instance where I was playing as him in Sparking Zero and I have no idea what happened but he used the old VA during some action I did and I have no idea what triggered it. Leftover file maybe?
Although they reused the audio from the previous games, I don't mind one bit. It makes sense in a way of, if it not broke, don't fix it. Personally, reusing old audio from the old games to save time makes sense, they still hold up today, especially enhanced as some of them are, why waste time re-recording those lines when they can use that time and money to make the game better? I prefer that they do this, then lose out on other aspects of the game that may not have been possible in the time and budget. Plus, older fans get the nostalgic kick hearing lines we recognise! When I first played this game, I was instantly transported back to playing 2 and 3 from the voice lines alone~! And it was awesome!
Like the vegeta one where he’s like “let me assure you”, the one in sparking zero is all new can tell the difference Chris sabat had a different vegeta voice at the time.
As someone who has worked with these Audios for a long time, I can tell right away when one of them is straight up reused from the original and when it's just rerecorded, some of the examples you showed were either one or the other
I think the reason so many didn't catch in at first is because of the feel of the new game and other's deliveries. Some lines are re voiced so it kind of blends in together.
first off every character in the game that was from tenkaichi series voices sound solid as we all remember " who played the tenkaichi series " but if this was true as i hope than i pray they do a update with the original voice of kid gohan and tenn gohan because as a huge respect to the woman who does kid and teen gohan voice, only real dbz fans know 1000% that those voice damn sure dont fit teen gohan specially when he goes ssj2
0:16 Mainline titles in the series MAY have sequels or supplementary content released afterwards. FF14 is a MMO with content that gets updates and story content till this very day. FF15 had a novel, several DLC expansions, etc. FF4, 7, 10, and 13 at the top of my head all got sequels, prequels, or other expansions. The main thing loosely connecting the FF games are stuff like creatures, items, summons, etc. The Dissidia titles explain stuff.
I actually dont remember these voiceline are reused in new game (maybe some of this re record). Everything i remember in dragonball when goku get hit he goes "UOOOUOUOOOOUGH"
Solid video. Though, I do want to point out that MANY of the lines you pointed out are actually re-recordings of previous lines, though they do sound *insanely* similar to the old takes. My theory is that they had the old lines on-hand and were instructed to mimic them. Some do so better than others. The whole "even a reject can surpass an elite..." etc etc sounds similar to the old one, but if you listen VERY closely, it's a re-recording. It's a bit more obvious with Vegeta's response. Same with the Krillin line at the beginning. I know you mentioned in the comments that most of the lines in the video are 1:1, but I genuinely don't think that that's the case. Even in the examples where you're lining them up, there are actually minute differences in the line deliveries. If they WERE 1:1, the audio would be perfectly harmonizing when the voice over plays, but there are inconsistencies between the two. In reality, I think 99% of these reused lines are just re-recordings. Though, I will say, that 1% DOES exist. When you do a particular chain as Kid Goku, a recording of Stephanie Nadolny's Goku saying "one more time!" plays. It's kinda funny, lol. So yeah, it does exist in the game, but just pointing out that MOST of the instances, even in this video, are re-recordings.
@xTheGokuLegendx I did try to line them up as best as I could, but my editing software legit wouldn't let me for most of them, there are a couple that did, but most of them were either a frame early, or a frame behind. I really don't believe they are re-recorded lines, simply due to the age of the voice actors. I don't doubt that some of them are talented enough to recreate them, but age changes your voice and makes it to where you can't reach certain tones and pitches like you could when you were younger. The Bardock line against Turles is PAINFULLY obvious that it's reused. It's got the crunch from 2007 and everything.
@@Darknight545 Yeah, that specific one I completely agree with. But you'd be surprised man! There's a lot of training and control required for voice acting. And I do know that Sean Schemmel is naturally a pretty strong mimic, so I wouldn't doubt he could do it. You can hear Sabat's voice slipping up very slightly in some of these though.
Don’t forget the tag in lines for Krillin and Yamcha: BT3: “Hehe looks like it’s my turn!” -Krillin “Yeah! Check this out!” - Yamcha Sparking Zero character select screen ^

@PieStudios some of them may be, but ones like Garlic Jr, Baby, and Turles are way too similar. As talented as these actors are, lines like this can't be redone to a tee like the ones that I showed simply due to their age. Bardock's intro vs Turles is another good example
I can agree with some of them, but some of the ones I showed simply can't be recreated like that. BT3's voice lines were most likely recorded in 2006, almost 19 years ago. There is no way that these voice actor's voices haven't changed in that time span. You are more than willing to boot up both games and find out for yourself.
@Chaotic_X I don't doubt that they're super talented, I just don't see them being able to recreate them so that they sound 1 to 1 like they did in BT3. Age wouldn't let them, voices change as you get older. You could take Jason Griffith as an example, he can't perfectly recreate his Shadow voice anymore, not because he stopped doing the voice, but because he is much older now.
@Darknight545 If you remember, Sean spoke about recording over 80 hours of voicelines. Surely that means he re-voiced the same voicelines until he got it as close as he can. Cause you can hear in ur video that some voicelines, despite sounding identical are said in different speeds ever so slightly. Besides I'm sure that you'd be able to tell if it's reused based on the audio quality difference
@Chaotic_X from my personal standpoint, I don't believe a word that Sean says because of his narcissistic and petty behaviors, but that's besides the point. The Bardock clip with Turles is PAINFULLY obvious that it's reused, the slight effects with the mic and everything.
@pikablu_25 characters like Garlic Jr and Baby are too similar to the limes in BT3, and the line Bardock has against Turles as well. Age prevents some of these lines being perfectly replicated as the OG lines were recorded almost 19 years ago. Apparently there are more reused Japanese lines than English lines tho
Unlike literally everyone else in this comment section, i kind of find the reuse of lines kind of irritating. Obviously it’s nostalgic n shit, but think about how cool it would be if we had completely new lines. Some of the reused lines are fine, but there are wayy too many of them. Idk i just wish some of those interactions with reused lines would just get replaced with completely new lines.
@Watermellyy I can see where you're coming from. It would be really nice to see them redone. I will give the English Dubbing credit, because I've heard that the Japanese Dub is FAR worse when it comes to reusing lines in this game
@adrenaliner91 you're more than welcome to boot up both games and find out for yourself. Plus, it doesn't matter how talented voice actors are, a good majority of the lines in this video can't be vocally recreated simply due to the fact that the original lines were recorded almost 19 years ago and age changes people's vocal cords (Bardock intro vs Turles is a prime example). But I'm not one to tell you what to believe.
@@Darknight545 then it's the most of them that were re-recorded were possible. Goku and Vegeta sound very different. Not quality wise, the recording is definitely different.
@adrenaliner91 I'm fairly certain that Goku and Vegeta's were, bit ones like Baby and Garlic Jr sound WAY to similar to be re-recorded, mainly because of what I had mentioned. They do have some new lines that don't have the same tone and whatnot like the ones in this video

@@IGLXenix this comment right here captures my exact thoughts
dont you think i dont hear that dragon ball raging blast 2 galaxy mode theme in the intro on the background.
5:15 Anyone who knows Goku knows that he likes to eat a lot and train a lot. So why is he so skinny in Sparking Zero?
I wish they brought back Vegeta saying “your face is utterly disgusting” to Turles
Like the vegeta one where he’s like “let me assure you”, the one in sparking zero is all new can tell the difference Chris sabat had a different vegeta voice at the time.
Sometimes when I fight with Uub, you can tell that his voice lines are either phoned in or literally reused from the old games.
As someone who has worked with these Audios for a long time, I can tell right away when one of them is straight up reused from the original and when it's just rerecorded, some of the examples you showed were either one or the other
@@MetalFreezer3000 I wasn't completely certain, so I just took the safe route and put them in
Goku: I hope we never meet again
also Goku:😀👍
I think the reason so many didn't catch in at first is because of the feel of the new game and other's deliveries. Some lines are re voiced so it kind of blends in together.
They pulled that move in xv 2 as well, btw a lot voice lines are from xv2 in sz
I know i heard ssj2 gohan in the father son kamehameha(jp) re using the scream from teq LR ssj2 bojack movie gohans active skill

Not even that, also the intro and ultimate from DBFZ too
first off every character in the game that was from tenkaichi series voices sound solid as we all remember " who played the tenkaichi series " but if this was true as i hope than i pray they do a update with the original voice of kid gohan and tenn gohan because as a huge respect to the woman who does kid and teen gohan voice, only real dbz fans know 1000% that those voice damn sure dont fit teen gohan specially when he goes ssj2
bruh i think literally every single line from Baby Vegeta and Garlic Jr is reused lmao
@zy4874 they do have some new ones, but for the most part...yes, yes they are
0:16 Mainline titles in the series MAY have sequels or supplementary content released afterwards.
To be fair at this point Spike Chunsoft is more used to making Visual novels than anime arena fighters xD
I actually dont remember these voiceline are reused in new game (maybe some of this re record). Everything i remember in dragonball when goku get hit he goes "UOOOUOUOOOOUGH"
@st.limaribu9434 some of them may be re recorded, but most of them are reused
Many used lines are reused in JP too. The only problem is the old lines are poorly mixed
@@TreyPDB I've heard that a ton of Slug's lines were just given a reverb to make them sound new
@@Darknight545 nah slug has a new VA so probably fully re-recorded
@@TreyPDB ah, did not know that
Damm frieza's voice is the biggest update the dub had
I’m glad they didn’t change some these lines. Good video though.
@darnells95 I am too, gives it that nostalgic touch

@bieelferrreira some of them are dubbed over, but most are reused. Shockingly there are more reused Japanese lines than English

Most of these line reads are very clearly different
@PieStudios some of them may be, but ones like Garlic Jr, Baby, and Turles are way too similar. As talented as these actors are, lines like this can't be redone to a tee like the ones that I showed simply due to their age. Bardock's intro vs Turles is another good example

These aren't reused tho, they're new recording of the old interactions
I can agree with some of them, but some of the ones I showed simply can't be recreated like that. BT3's voice lines were most likely recorded in 2006, almost 19 years ago. There is no way that these voice actor's voices haven't changed in that time span. You are more than willing to boot up both games and find out for yourself.
@Darknight545 you'd be surprised how talented the VA's are
@Chaotic_X I don't doubt that they're super talented, I just don't see them being able to recreate them so that they sound 1 to 1 like they did in BT3.
Not the same voiceline recording, same script tho...
Some of them are super suspicious tho
I will give the English Dubbing credit, because I've heard that the Japanese Dub is FAR worse when it comes to reusing lines in this game
i think they reused some from xenoverse as well
@@josiahcowans6649 I noticed a couple as well, but it would have taken me WAYYY too long to find the origins for them in Xeno 2
For some, same lines bit sounds different
@mopan237 might be because I couldn't line them up perfectly, and believe me, I tried as hard as I could
They weren't copied, reused, they were just re-recorded. Clickbaiting sh*t here.
Garlic Jr, Turles and Baby Vegeta literally sound exactly like BT3
