thank you i just bought OX 648 H-2508 and absolutely is great axes thanks to you and your video
Awesome choice! I recommend wiping the axe head with some light oil, when you're done splitting. That will keep it from rusting. The high carbon steel needs a little more attention. Thanks for commenting!
Thanks, nice review. " Always start splitting from the opposite end from a knot." Thanks, chuuse (sic) Later !
Nice tool in a Cool vid.
Greetings from Germany....
Guten tag! Thanks for commenting! This hatchet has held up well since I made this video.
It makes me very happy and a little bit proud ^^ that such an old German traditions brand is also popular outside of Germany .... is really good quality. Have fun with it. All the best for you and yours. CU
@The German's are the finest people that have ever inhabited God's green earth, 👍😁💪🔨🪓🌲🇩🇪🇮🇪
Say Heah, I finally did it alot came and went, But I finally got my Ochsenkopf Axe, I got the OX 620 H-1257, similar to this one but a little longer heft. Yeah It comes with the Rowland Plus, At first I got the 26" Husqvarna All Purpose Forest Axe but the eye had a defect so I exchanged it for the Ochsenkopf Axe and plus the difference. But I know I will be happier since I did make a House Axe with a Iltis Oxhead, Mine is a little older, Because it came black instead of yellow. Thanx for sharing.
Sounds like your going to be busy trying it out. Hope it works well for you.
Hi Mark, I'm glad your not a car salesman, or I'd be driving away with a new car, just joking, I am impressed with this axe, you sold me, I'm definitely getting this axe, I do have a Iltis Oxhead, it too is a 2 3/4lbs. head, with a 5" face, but it's very thin, and chop's great, but I like the way this split's, are the two companies the same as in Oxhead ?
paulie 4x Thanks for the comment Paulie, I believe the two companies are the same. They also make the Stihl Pro Splitting Axe. If you get the hatchet, please let me know how it works out. Thanks.
Kewl Beanz ,,, I will
Thanks for the video. The OX 644 H is on my bucket list. Just bought the Ochsenkopf Big Ox. Do you think these two would compliment each other and be sufficient for most splitting work? Thanks again.
Yes, absolutely. The big Ox is a beast!
Not a hatchet. It's a small splitting axe
True, they call it a hatchet, but it works best when swinging it with two hands.
This is classed as an axe IMO and not a hatchet. I would classify that in terms of size and weight. I appreciate the review though.
This is like a hybrid axe/ hatchet. Perfect for splitting campfire stuff.
Interesting similar concept to a miners axe.
I'll have to check that out, thanks!
great axes would you go with fiskar x27 or OX 648 H-2508, i have to get one ,but i do not want to make a wrong, just give your opiniun decision thanks
The Fiskars X27 is good for the price. I'm likely to grab an Ochsenkopf before a Fiskars though.
Спасибо за видио!!!! GooD...
You're welcome!
Does that head come off to sharpen?
Nope, the head stays on.
now that a nice ax great to chop fire wood with. The only thing i have to chop fire wood with is my husqvarna chainsaw i love it and it runs great but an ax is an awesome tool
I'm happy with it. If you ever buy one, let me know how it works out. Thanks for commenting.
You just know he’s a tee ball coach
