    Thread: Brown
    Hackle: Feather from a starling's back twisted around thread

    Great fly and thanks for sharing I have found the petitjean hackle pliers are fantastic for both twisting the thread and hackle and the winding the hackle.

    I'll definitely try this on the Oikawa. Looks effective! Lots of patterns now for my starling skin.

    Great wee fly is their an alternative to the Starling feather please ..I don't have any...

      You can use black hen. Natural black is better than dyed
