Save a Dornier was one of the supporters that helped Special Hobby in creation a model kit of the famous Dornier Do27. Requested as a replacement of the Fieseler Storch by the spanish air force, the Do27 was designed by Dornier in Spain and became the first aircraft to be mass produced in Germany after WW2. Special Hobby produced a limited edition for supplier Art Scale, called the Quax Edition. Quax is the biggest vintage aircraft club in europe. All 3 Do27 in the box can be found within the Quax group. U9-51, the first Do27 in service with the spanish air force. LC+155 the sole Do27 flying in its factory paint from delivery 1959 and D-ECOX the last civil Do27 Q1 flying in germany, out of 18 that where build. She also still is wearing her delivery paint. This animated movie is about the spanish U9-51

I honestly don't know what is more awe inspiring, his skills as a modeler or his mastery of Stop Motion Animation that the great Ray Harryhausen would be proud of. Either way you look at it, this is a work of art through and through. Also its amazing to see the real aircraft next to the model.

Is this how these models are intended to be built per the instructions or do you add the majority of the finer more intricate details? As always a wonderful video!
Thank you - I only added the safety belts and some wire. The riveting was some sort of additional detailing. It's totally up to you what you'll like to visualize. The details out of box are very fine though.

Naja, Du weißt ja was ich jetzt schreibe......tolle Arbeit, wunderschön in Szene gesetzt......was anderes kann man dazu ja auch nicht sagen ;-) Schön das bei den großen Fenstern die mühevolle Detailarbeit im Innenraum auch mal voll zur Geltung kommt. Modelle von, wie heißt das noch mal...Kopfflügler?..... Schulterflügler?....sieht man auch nicht so oft.
Vielen lieben Dank. Ich hatte zwischenzeitlich darüber nachgedacht die Türen geöffnet darzustellen, fand es dann aber im Sinne der geschlossenen Form besser sie zu schließen... Ich glaube es heißt "Schulterdecker".
Man kann gar nicht glauben das du erst seit knapp 10-11 Jahren Modellbau betreibst Tom, was du hier zauberst hat eine Ausnahmestellung. Gruß Werner
