- SCP 682 is a Keter Class anomaly also known as Hard to Destroy Reptile.
SCP-682 is a large, vaguely reptile-like creature of unknown origin. It appears to be extremely intelligent, and was observed to engage in complex communication with SCP 079 during their limited time of exposure. SCP682 appears to have a hatred of all life, which has been expressed in several interviews during containment.
The Global Occult Coalition, better known as the GOC, are a group of bloodthirsty, gun-toting cowboys who want to shoot first and ask questions later. It doesn't matter whether the anomaly involved is as harmless as a mouse, or capable of a world ending disaster, their reaction is the same: Destroy. Burn it, crush it, shoot it in the face with extreme prejudice and be home in time for dinner... Or at least, that’s what the SCP Foundation would have you believe. Has anyone ever checked SCP-682's foot? Maybe he simply got a splinter in there and that's the reason why he's angry.

The splinter in the foot for this case might be the misery in the world and the misery of harsh times accumulated in that ancient reptile that should be a glowing natural guardian.
Maybe he is scarred from not being open a jar of pickles and he got so angry at people for humiliating him.

The earth revolves around the sun fast enough that it requires more fuel to fall into the sun than to escape it's gravitational pull.

It's not like he'll be able to control an automated ship with disabled controls.
Doctor Foster isn't wrong. The only things to worry about is the failure of the ship itself and failure of containment before getting to the sun.
Since the fuel is finite, the ship will be carried on a ballistic trajectory to the sun, so it can't hot wire the engines.
If 682 is still in his sealed acid bath on the way to the sun, he will at least be crippled for the trip. Once the sun's gravity takes over, he won't be able to escape its pull.
682 will either be trapped, sitting on the surface of the sun for the next 14 billion years until it becomes a White dwarf, black hole or 682 is completely atomized out of existence from the heat, pressure and gravity.
In any case, barring sabotage or general failure, it's an out-of-sight out-of-mind situation with 682.
Scp 682 once ate a whole universe, but he will be able to adapt to the sun, a black hole, and so much more.
Which makes me think, maybe they should send the ship right into a black hole

I don't fully understand the physics of why, but apparently between gravity, angles of approach, and solar winds. NASA says that it takes years to get a probe anywhere close.

While they have yet to fight anything near that level of dangerous, Miraculous users are generally immune to damage. While 682 could potentially adapt, or even just outlast them if they have to change back, there is one unknown factor- cataclysm. Can 682 survive it? It generally crumbles targets into ash instantly. That's when a Miraculous user calls on it- an unrestrained cataclysm called by Plagg when not transformed can be a thousand times more destructive(apparently Atlantis was his fault...). But depending on how much damage it causes, would Ladybug have to use her lucky charm to fix it, potentially reviving 682 in the process? It's highly suggested her magic fix-all power can revive the dead, though ti only works on whatever damage was caused by whatever entity it as called upon to deal with.

I had an idea, SCP 682 is similar to Shin Godzilla, like how even if cut into pieces, it will regenerate, even though Shin could possibly regenerate into more of itself, but to actually kill shin, you would have to incinerate his entire body, so what if the foundation cut 682 into pieces then tried to incinerate the pieces with the hottest flames they have? Probably wouldn't work but it's an idea
he already got cut in molecular level and he survived
When you think about it, if the SCPF had shared its info with the GOC (who never got a chance to study it) this whole situation would have been avoided

682 literally survived the obsidian knife and the hole of nonexistance. Anything that doesn't target the adaptability directly won't work. Either a temporal anomaly or something to revoke such a powerful anomalous quality. 682 might start making things anomalous or anomalies things if the test fails, though.

What if the secret to killing it is just something super simple. Like if you stab it with a toothpick it just dies instantly
The best way to deal with SCP-682 is to just contain it, trying to kill it only serves to make it stronger. In theory putting it in another Demension should serve well so long as the Demension is harmless, since it won't adapt since it isn't trying to be killed. Expecially if said Demensoin has an infinate number of humans to kill.

They keel trying to destroy it, it does have an opinion and a preference. It is intelligent and it is disgusted by humans and wants to kill them, giving it what it want's infinitely seems to be a complete valid solution. Because trying to kill it has only yielded negative results and loss of human life. They attempted to put it in SCP-3008 and it worked until the IKEA workers deposited SCP-682 outside, so that does prove that SCP-682 will not try to escape another dimension if it has it's needs met there, which a dimension full of vulnerable humans would meet that..
