    I was also a rider in this scene filmed in the desert north of Phoenix near Happy Valley Rd. Nothin' but houses there now... 😝

    I was the role model for Halsey Knox. Redford followed me around for six months. Of course he kept getting in Peter Fonda's way while I was teaching him to be cool and teaching Dennis Hopper how to roll doobies

      Peter Fonda sure didnt need anyone in his way as he was in his own way ...cant stand him any role he every playeu if you ask me he ruined the role and only detracted from a couple otherwise half decent fims again if you ask me....the dude just never had it and was really put to shame by his old man and even his sister

    This movie stunk, but I have to give Redford credit for really doing a nice job on a character who is really kind of a jerk.

    Regretful Redford Hits the Sweet Spot and Totally Nails Halsy Knox; What is Bob so Ashamed Of?... Former Goldenboy Redford has spent the last forty-five years obsessively attempting to keep this absolutely fantastic film, more importantly, this acutely winning, dead solid perfect performance hidden away in his secret shame closet for some strange n' disturbing reason. In lieu of the apparent deviations from Eastman's original narrative, as well as Bob's legendary contempt for his quirky misfit co-star Pollard, this is easily one of his most resonant, compellingly magnetic characterizations to be sure. Sensational '70's road movie grittiness, sublimely offset by the striking, luminous presence of Hutton's sweet honey Nebraska...

      I read the novelization before seeing this film. I can't believe how this one flies under-the-radar in Robert Redford's catalog of achievements. The paperback had movie stills included and this helped my pre-visualization of situations in the movie.

      Redford when queried about his nice guy, likeable roles in Cinema he said something like " Oh I wouldn't say that . My character in Downhill Racer certainly wasn't likable. Halsey in Little Fauss & Big Halsy was an outrageous Shit ! "

    • @dougiequick1
      @dougiequick1 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Uhhh possibly because it was SUCH a cheesy written script? Just stupid and failed even to reflect the racing scene of the day or the types that were racing and what it took too do well? Just was half assed IMHO comical to watch nowl But Redford took the role seriously and is blameless for his part it's just a silly ass movie is all....the only reason I liked it is I was a16 year okd dirtbike rider wanna be MX racer. This movie would much better have been set strictly in the flat track and road racing scene THEN it might have had potential

    Hello, I'm writing a biography of director Sidney Furie with his participation. Where did you get your widescreen copy of Little Fauss? I need to find a widescreen copy of the film. I only have a fullscreen pan-and-scan. Please contact me. I'd be willing to pay.

      @@troynov1965 I only ever saw him in Bonnie & Clyde and this film (a Star Trek episode too) and then somehow I _scrupulously_ avoided seeing Michael J. Pollard in _anything_ else in which he appeared so in memory he remains forever young. Like the song, "Forever Young", to some extent. My wife passed away in June of 2002 from the convoluted complications of Type 4 breast cancer but she _never_ lost her look and glow of youth dying as she did at age 44. In memory she will never age and that is how I perceive the memory of Michael J. Pollard.

      Maybe I saw ads for this on the TV at the same time I watched Bonnie & Clyde, but something about his name and look was stamped into my memory. After watching Bonnie on TV the next time I would see him would be in "Scrooged."

    NEVER forget, he was a bad-ass Dude. But NEVER forget, Halsey was righteous and pure. Just ask Momma. 🦽
