Yes. I was greedy and my account isn't as good as it could be. Now I've created a second account in which I'll make better decisions. Already got Robin, Sunday and Big Herta (won all three 50/50 on soft pity) and I'm waiting for Castorice, similar to Bob. I have 150 pulls, so I might try to pull for Tribbie and hopefully I get lucky.

Honestly I think she will still be good in old teams, but, you know, old is the key word. We’ll see but I’m very positive about her not being the centre of the meta anymore
She's still universal, but the price of a generalist kit is getting replaced for a better specific fit. Especially when her mechanics are mostly around crit that is the "base" state of most games, despite her FUA niche.

At this point, any player interested in meta has most likely seen the leaks, the difference between he and us is that he can't admit it to continue being a Hoyo creator. Also, his advice is actually good. Robin won't get powercrept nor she will become useless, but most specialized supports will be released and the players will have the ability to choose between different great supports. If Hoyo wants Robin to be less powerful the only thing they have to do is release non ATK scaling DPSs, and according to leaks, that's exactly was going to happen.

Skip Robin if you don’t play FuA, old dps, or try for 0 cycles, at this point is how I see it honestly. You don’t need to pull a character just because everyone says they are a must pull. I still haven’t pulled Robin at all and have been able to clear all endgame consistently as a F2P that is more on the casual side. Whether or not pulling Robin makes sense for you is entirely dependent on what you have on your account and what your plans are. Especially when dreams have let us know that the current new dps (The Herta) and the future coming dps do not even want Robin in their optimal teams. Do not poise your account to be backward facing by pulling a character just before she is not optimal in the new best teams.
My friend loves feixiao and hates robin, he plays FUA just fine without her. I personally tested it from a f2p perspective in AS some time ago and the difference wasn't too big, I think it was around 100av without proper tuning.
Except for the limited sustains, you need atleast one of the premium sustains to actually clear endgame😢 that or you have to pull a better harmony so the enemy wont kill your e6 gallagher

Yeah I agree, my current team is e0s1 Acheron and e0s0 Firefly and Im clearing just fine without Robin, my next dps pull will be Castorice, another unit who doesn't need Robin, so it's safe to say I'm skipping for a third time
BASED. i deny from pulling robin because i refused to not taking advantage of already pulled sparkle and the 2 teams ive played are e2 acheron and 10cost ff break team. and now that tribbie is coming and she definitely will much greater for The Herta, i dont see myself pulling robin anytime soon.
I think the E2 experience has spoiled him. I personally never had much issue with her ult frequency. Although that MAY have to do with the fact that I run her with Aventurine a lot. It’s not perfect but it’s not painful imo
The e2 definitely skewed his opinion a little bit, i run dot with robin e1s1 and it felt fine for me since qpq huo huo is goated but robin without fua or external energy buff is painful

You have to remember that he has literally nothing besides Herta and she would obviously benefit more from someone that does aoe and generate more energy, Robin is very good but if you only have 1 team and she is not best in slot you might as well get someone that fit that team better.
quick summary robin is BiS for old teams, and looking at meta rn + bob already has one team up it may be better to go for the newest characters with all those resources, going for sunday castorice would be more value this is just minmaxxing his pulls and this doesn't apply to 99% of the playerbase you don't have 35k jades you cannot pull the most optimal team throughout consecutive patches this is borderline clickbait
I think flexibility is better than specializing because the content is always changing and you don’t need to “0 cycle” every content with a specialized team that have eidolons and etc . Variety on team comps that sinergizes is more than enough
Generally, Hoyo runs the DPS and their BiS support together which means Tribbie might actually be better for Mydei than Castorice. Going by this skipping Robin logic, shouldn't Bob also skip Tribbie and wait for the BiS Castorice support to drop (obviously assuming that Tribbie isn't tailor made for Castorice which could be the case). I think Bob should try to pull Robin but if he loses the 50/50, then he shouldn't commit to Robin any further and guarantee getting Tribbie/BiS support for Castorice instead. Essentially, try and get both Robin and Tribbie (best case scenario) but if Robin doesn't come home, then just pivot over to Tribbie only.
Not at all "generally", but they generally rerun supports that people might have skipped if their carry gets released later (topaz/robin schedule with feixiao, RM with firefly, jade and lingsha as potential herta pairing currently). So if tribbie ends up being good for her and they're not one after the other, you can expect a rerun. Otherwise, it will probably a sunday rerun with her.

He's gonna wait until like the last 10 days or 1 week of Robin's banner and see how tribbie kit looks like, if it actually synergize well with said castorice kit, then he will actually wait and pull for tribbie. BUT, if the tribbie kit does not do anything to castorice kit then he will change his mind and pull for robin instead
BiS support for castorice is actually Sunday as Castorice is a summon Dps. After that they can be anyone, tribbie, rmc, etc who goes good. But Sunday is gonna be her main man.
Acheron actually got rewarded recently. You can now run Acheron, Fugue, Jiaoqio and Aventurine all at E0S0, spam Fugue skill on Aventurine and the team will perform better than on release when Acheron needed her LC to not be copium. Ice March 7 is even better than Aventurine if the team can survive (e.g. in Pure Fiction). I think the problem is a lot of people skipped either Jiaqio or Fugue so the team flies under the radar (plus a lot of people don't want to admit that their S1 or E2 Acheron pulls are no longer necessary for the unit to function)
Project BOB is showing the f2p process but I don’t think it’s working in favor of the original argument. Even an extremely sharp and experienced player like Pokke is having to be VERY methodical with resources, on a micro level, and plan pulls around leaks. And this is with a close to ideal start (The Herta being an ideal f2p carry, 3.0 launch and its future catering to her)
I don't know if I would say this is like micro level management bcz in general he's just skipping reruns and planning to fill out 2 main teams with newer units

It just doesn't feel as good as before, but they clear anyways while expanding little by little the new team they are interested in. I personally skipped like more than half units from 1.x and 2.x and I cleared just as fine, being a monthly pass player.

As someone doing a similar project to BOB skipping Robin seems to be where Im heading as well. At this point im aiming for Sunday/Castorice as my first team as I have Herta on my main. So Castorice/Sunday/RMC/Sustain is team 1 (assuming Sunday reruns along Cas) and then I can get a future dps in a later patch that might not need Robin. My account will probably progress slower due to not having account managers so Im fine with waiting for characters

I agree, and I will also not be pulling her during her rerun. I am a day 1 player, and monthly pass buyer, so I am sure that Robin COULD provide a LOT of value for a wide variety of my teams (especially Feixiao follow-up). However, after pulling both Sunday and THerta I do NOT want to spread myself too thin as I keep investing into some of the new 3.X teams and archetypes. Personally, I'd already made plans on pulling for THerta and Castorice prior to the BOB Project, partially because of leaks and partially because of my own intuition and personal account needs. Prior to THerta, my account had neithrer AoE nor Ice DPS, so pulling her and planning to build her team was a no-brainer. When it comes to Castorice I just really liked her design, and it seems like she'll end up being the anniversary unit which lines up fantastically, so I made up my mind during Sunday's banner and pulled him after considering his possible future value to summon DPS. For a moment I considered pulling for Aglaea, seeing as she's a 3.X summon DPS which synergizes exceptionally well with Sunday, but I am not really in the need of another Electric DPS (even if she's the fancy new unit and she may have faster clears SINCE SHE'S NEW) and I'd value more investing those pulls into my future teams mentioned prior. Robin's value has NOT diminished persay, as she still is and will remain BiS for many of the 2.X or even other crit DPS teams. BUT I think it's fair to say that other future units (regardless of leaks) may reasonably offer more SPECIFIC support to certain future / existing teams, and that Robin will be of less value then (DoT, Summon, HP teams, etc.).
f2p eidolon enjoyer here, easily clearing stage 12 in 4~7 cycles with e2 Archeron (no JQ) + Superbreak and never needed a Robin, I'm confident that I can still clear future content unless the devs force me to play Summons. - Skipping Tribbie unless she can provide some sustain utility with good buffs, we've seen Jade as a support sub-dps role, so who knows. - I plan to get e2 Fugue for a 24% of Robin's main utility, coupled with a 50% with an e2 Sparkle (+16~24% w/DDD if needed). IMO multiple Split AV pullups are a bit more flexible (but require some speed tuning) than one big AOE pullup if you don't want to build a team around a bare-minimum Robin.
Waiting for the next character leak and update is probably the most difficult thing to do in Hoyoverse. But regarding Robin situation, based on the Castorice animations, her kit seems to have her memosprite dragon deal the majority of damage while she is slow herself, hence the new 4 piece quantum set that slows you down for more crit rate, basically tailor made. So the action advance from Robin would greatly help both Castorice and her memosprite dragon deal more damage. Compared to Tribbie having similar damage buffs but is more focused on making AOE attacks, which caters more to The Herta.

e2 robin is the most smartest choice obviously just go all in you can easily pull for rerun character to make robin team better because powercreep dosn't exist or shoudn't be a problem with a good support with good synergistic team robin and feixiao is there ez choice
Future dps characters are going to be hp scalers (well at least Mydei and Castorice) . So robin doesn't bring as much value besides the e1 and action advance in that case
If you already have the other pieces of the team, that is correct, so cut the sass. He already got herta and will be moving in that direction. Don't forget if powercreep exists the new units will also have to deal with it, so you're on a timer to find out you were wrong without a shadow of a doubt.

Supports have been pretty universal with specialty making them really strong. Tribbie will follow the same trend. Since you don’t really have the units for Robin tribbie should cover and might be better given the new environment.
Bob actually made sense especially on the Robin's energy problem. A lot of time even with Bron sig S1 in a FuA team u cannot always get the Ult when u want it without the rng of getting hit or QPQ. For Therta this might actually be a problem, but I dont think so for Aglaea. Aglaea acts like a lot cause her speed is so high plus AV advance from RMC. However cannot say the same for Catorice cause she apparently has very low speed. So not getting Robin might not be that crazy.
I think that Castorice may synergise well with Tribbie, and then maybe Hyacine will be the healer. But I think that Mydei can also work well with Castorice as she gain buff by depleting the team hp while Mydei atks increases as his hp reduces. Plus they're a high chance that Sunday reruns on Castorice banner as he's her best support so far.

When Tribbie will be out, Castorice model will be out, so we will know if she’s best in slot with Castorice. I’m pretty confident Sunday is best in slot for her because of her summon and her relic kit but for the 3rd slot it’s hard to say if it’s Rmc, Tribbie, Robin or a sub dps. Who knows. For the 4th and last slot I do think she’ll need a healer rather than a Tank if she loses her own hp. So Luocha,Lingsha,HuoHuo or Gallagher
I feel like big part of Robin's value is teamwide damage buff which is useful in FUA teams. But with hypercarry, I think her triple action advance isn't any better than Sunday. Since her action advance just happens on ult cast.
Think carefully Vertical investment definitely has better performance, but horizontal investment has more fun (and I mean specifically for clearing endgame) so while you can take 8 to 10 cycles to clear it's a valid approach. Players don't have to compromise between performance and taste in this game, all they need is to support the characters they like instead of ONLY pulling for taste. Skipping Robin is an example of how accounts have different needs and you have the resources to build the account you want, it's about time players stop following guides as an order and start thinking about what the guides are saying, because they're supposed to be just that, a source of information to make an educated decision.

Basing on the relic for slow speed seem to fit castorice. We have seen robin advance work on memosprite, while it's not as many as sundae, it still required for a slow castorice without sunday. Specially if tribbie has 0 advance forward.

@ ah yes robin buffs are useless like her crit damage buffs, damage %, team wide action adv, her own damage which which is pretty significant. Sure they can't use her atk buff but acting like she is useless is a brain dead take.
I like this take. While "pull Robin" is good general advice and you can't go wrong with it, tailoring your pulls around your own account is even better advice. I skipped Sunday for Fugue because my account was heavily invested in fua/superbreak. Sunday 100% offers more general value and application than Fugue, but he doesn't have great synergy for either of my teams. Fugue however is the biggest upgrade I can get for Firefly as a player who started after Ruan Mei's rerun.
Why though. I have bobin e0 with the event light cone and I personally don't think she lives up to the glaze. Her buffs are great but she's has major energy issues without her sig LC which may require you to use sunday or tingyun ult on her instead of ur carry. The holes in her kit are very noticeable at lower stellar jade investment. And even with those eidolons and her sig, support powercreep might just negate those investments entirely (sparkle vs sunday). And bob can't invest vertically till he has solid base teams.
@@itsjohn-michael why? Herta + energy slave don't need Robin. If Castorice ends up being HP scaling, then she does not benefit from Robin's ATK buff. Robin is absolutely amazing, but not necessary for Bob's account.
Honestly, with Robin being 2nd half just wait until we get the early access/stream over Tribbie (new Harmony unit), then decide if she fits your roster or not. Robin will be really good no matter what, but depending on your team Tribbie may suit it better.
i'm positive she's future proof and she will still be one of the best characters in the game. The only reason i skipped her and will still is that i dont have issues clearing the whole game with my current characters and i prefer waiting for characters i'll fall for

I am in a very similar situation to Bob - in fact Bob is probably better off in terms of pulls - as I have returned to an account that I stopped playing in like 1.1. I have managed to get Herta and Lingsha, and am trying to figure out what to do about team 2 eventually. Looking at what I have, the only option really would be a Clara team, where Robin would fit well. Though I'd probably prefer to wait and go for Castorice, and in that case even if I did get Robin, I'm not even sure if she'll get used (at least in the near future) - though that depends on what Tribbie does and whether she will be better then Robin for her 🤔I would really want Robin for future, but the plan right now is probably to wait with pulling anything until we know more on Tribbie, as I do not think I have a chance of getting both

@sutkonos Algaea BiS is Sunday. You won't even have enough energy for ults without him. The current cheapest and most efficient Algaea sustain team is Sunday+Bronya. Mydei would get adjusted and heavily buffed, and he doesn't need Robin. Castorice is a slow hp based memosprite dps, she would benefit from Sunday+Bronya pulling Sunday even more than Algaea. Imagine being barely better than free unit. And all of this while Tribbie could still get big buffs to her performance and potentially replacing Robin in other older teams.

well i have robin and im pulling tribbie anyway bc i think she is better for the herta, im rly considering pulling for aglea since i wanna pair her with sunday i think she is stronger than the herta from what i have seen, i can use robin in aglea team and tribbie in the herta team and it should be fine. Now my problem is castorice, from what we have seen, is probably going to have a summon as well so paring her with sunday is logical but then aglea becomes useless since she is 3 times worse without him, its like jing yuan without sunday, not as bad ofc but you get where im getting at. A am Bob, I never pulled for Robin because I was fine fully clearing the content without her, plus as a personal matter I dint want her interrupting my battle music with her singing like she did against Sunday boss fight, which ruined my epic vibes. I'm saving my pulls for Castroice, if she is fun to play.
I started the game in november. Got lucky and pulled Sunday with 50 pulls because i heard the new characters in 3.X will be summon focused. I really wanted Feixiao as well so i pulled on her Rerun and got her as well with the 50/50. Herta made it into my account as well. Now im asking myself if i should summon for Robin, Aglaea or just skip and wait for perhaps Tribbie and Castorice. I get to over 200 summons at the end of february (Currently at 170). Im really thinking about skipping Robin but everybody says Feixiao is literally unplayable without her. Not sure what to do
(sorry for my english, i know is very bad) obv pull for who u like, but if u want to somehow follow the meta a bit this i what i would do. pulling for aglaea or castorice will benefit your account a lot cuz u already have the best in slot support for them(sunday). Keep in mind that if u pull for another dps(casto or aglaea) u will end up with 3 dps (the herta, feixiao,and aglaea/casto). Having 3 dps is not that much of a problem but it's just not functional as u need only 2 teams in hsr, so u won't use one of them. let's just say u want to pull for castorice cuz u like her (based), u have a solid team number 1(sunday casto and bla bla) and u need a team number 2, so u have to choose between feixiao or the herta. if u really want to play feixiao u have to pull for robin, feixiao is not unplayable without her but u are losing a ton of dps without robin. Must pull, no debate.( robin is arguably the best char in the game and u can play her in basically every team, except very specific scenario like superbreak, so u will never regret pulling for her even if in the future feixiao will get powercreept to death) if u want to play the herta then u can either play her in a f2p team, wich is good enough, or u can consider pulling for tribbie (very optional, herta doesn't need her that much, she's just a very good unit for her and for your account in general). the last option is not pulling for aglaea/casto and just play the herta and feixiao, in that case i would pull for robin (ofc) and tribbie. i know i said that she is not a must pull but since you will likely skip every other char (mydei, castorice, anaxa) u can safely pull for her as if u loose the 50/50 in not that much of a problem. BUT in case u loose the 50/50 on tribbie you should just pull the guaranteed castorice and play her with sunday, fuck the herta. hope i helped and again sorry for my english.

My personal idea was aswell to pull Aglaea (Since i like her Design a lot and i have Sunday) and then pull Robin. Yes i probably have 3 teams then and not much left for Tribbie but thats the problem with pulling Feixiao and her needing Robin. Atleast my Feixiao is not gonna end up being unusuable so i probably follow your and everyones tip to pull her since she is a must have for Fei. My Herta works wonders with RMC and Serval for now. If i can get some pulls for Tribbie i might do it but atleast i was able to clear PF, most of MOC and APOC for now. Thank you again, helped a lot with deciding!!!

@@EmsOnYT-I I don't think Feixiao needs Robin to perform well, so you pulling her is not a mistake since she's still a good unit. Considering you have free supports like Hunt March 7th and Remembrance MC (who can work with Feixiao at E4), you can still have a functioning team without Robin. Even Bronya can work too. Add to that potential future proof since any unit that can attack/enable attacks multiple times (whether follow up, action advance, or memosprite, etc.) can fuel Feixiao's ult. Yeah, you can't reach the damage ceiling that Robin allows for Feixiao to achieve, but her floor is so high that as long as you know how to fuel her ult then she will work just fine. Robin is for sure amazing but I just hope you don't let yourself get pressured into pulling if you don't actually want to pull. (if you do tho, go ahead lol) This is just my two cents as someone who skipped Robin (bc I didn't vibe with her that much) and can still full clear with Feixiao. You could say its just f2p cope but coping is what keeps f2p going 😂. Good luck bruv.

Ruan Mei still fits in just fine in every team, while Robin is already falling out of favor for the upcoming HP scaling characters because everyone and their mother now have built in Advance Forward
Honestly yes if you don’t have Feixiao or Yunli. I pulled her because she was stated as a must pull and a broken support but I don’t have Feixiao and to this day she has been benched and have not once found a good use or real need for her anywhere. Now it looks like I never will find a use for her with Tribbie releasing. I regret pulling her. Now I can’t get both Tribbie and Sunday. I’ll have to pick one for Castorice and I’m hoping that just Sunday and RMC will be enough.
It’s gonna kill FuA team if summon team has as much action as FuA. So E0S0 Bubbin is a bit hard to play. So waiting for Tribbie kits first is the best choice.

I'm hoping Tribbie can replace Sunday more so than Robin, but it's looking more like she's AoE Robin (damage wise) more than anything. Not sure abt her kit since I haven't had any dreams but from what Hoyo has said so far there's no AV advance in her kit.

That said, what if Tribbie is the last support who’s not centered around summons, just like how Sparkle was the last hypercarry support, and she doesn’t have a bit of synergy with Castorice. At that point what should Bob do? Pull for Robin,who we know can work with memosprites, or wait for Sunday? Personally I think Sunday is the safer choice as Robin can fall out of the meta very easily, Hoyo can just release only hp scaling units in 3.x making Robin simply a downgrade. Of course that implies skipping both Tribbie and Robin.
pulling Robin right now if you dont have either Yunli or Feixiao is really not that great, same as it was pulling ruan mei on rerun if you didnt have a dot or break comp. Although Robin fits in many more teams and outperforms RM in anywhere but break, she is still tied to crit and atk scailing DPS. Since HP meta is gonna be a thing, skipping every single rerun if you just started is really not that crazy, Lingsha might be the only one worth it
if you are free to play you need to pick the characters that have that have the greatest impact robin atm can be slotted into any team and just work even at e0 and no sig and even as power creep happens supports take way longer to fall off if they are well designed vs dps look at ruan mei still top in slot for break but she was the bread and butter for the majority of teams for most of hsr lifetime at time of posting and she is still a great support in general for accounts with not many choices for high end supports long story short supports are way less painful to invest in because usually they have long term impact even with lower investment and offer way more build diversity for teams in general.

Yes. I was greedy and my account isn't as good as it could be. Now I've created a second account in which I'll make better decisions. Already got Robin, Sunday and Big Herta (won all three 50/50 on soft pity) and I'm waiting for Castorice, similar to Bob. I have 150 pulls, so I might try to pull for Tribbie and hopefully I get lucky.

She's still universal, but the price of a generalist kit is getting replaced for a better specific fit. Especially when her mechanics are mostly around crit that is the "base" state of most games, despite her FUA niche.

At this point, any player interested in meta has most likely seen the leaks, the difference between he and us is that he can't admit it to continue being a Hoyo creator. Also, his advice is actually good. Robin won't get powercrept nor she will become useless, but most specialized supports will be released and the players will have the ability to choose between different great supports. If Hoyo wants Robin to be less powerful the only thing they have to do is release non ATK scaling DPSs, and according to leaks, that's exactly was going to happen.

Skip Robin if you don’t play FuA, old dps, or try for 0 cycles, at this point is how I see it honestly. You don’t need to pull a character just because everyone says they are a must pull. I still haven’t pulled Robin at all and have been able to clear all endgame consistently as a F2P that is more on the casual side. Whether or not pulling Robin makes sense for you is entirely dependent on what you have on your account and what your plans are. Especially when dreams have let us know that the current new dps (The Herta) and the future coming dps do not even want Robin in their optimal teams. Do not poise your account to be backward facing by pulling a character just before she is not optimal in the new best teams.
My friend loves feixiao and hates robin, he plays FUA just fine without her. I personally tested it from a f2p perspective in AS some time ago and the difference wasn't too big, I think it was around 100av without proper tuning.

You have to remember that he has literally nothing besides Herta and she would obviously benefit more from someone that does aoe and generate more energy, Robin is very good but if you only have 1 team and she is not best in slot you might as well get someone that fit that team better.

Generally, Hoyo runs the DPS and their BiS support together which means Tribbie might actually be better for Mydei than Castorice. Going by this skipping Robin logic, shouldn't Bob also skip Tribbie and wait for the BiS Castorice support to drop (obviously assuming that Tribbie isn't tailor made for Castorice which could be the case). I think Bob should try to pull Robin but if he loses the 50/50, then he shouldn't commit to Robin any further and guarantee getting Tribbie/BiS support for Castorice instead. Essentially, try and get both Robin and Tribbie (best case scenario) but if Robin doesn't come home, then just pivot over to Tribbie only.
They don't run them in the same patch though (bar reruns) e.g. Feixiao/Robin and Acheron/Jiaoqiu are 2 patches away.
Not at all "generally", but they generally rerun supports that people might have skipped if their carry gets released later (topaz/robin schedule with feixiao, RM with firefly, jade and lingsha as potential herta pairing currently). So if tribbie ends up being good for her and they're not one after the other, you can expect a rerun. Otherwise, it will probably a sunday rerun with her.

Acheron actually got rewarded recently. You can now run Acheron, Fugue, Jiaoqio and Aventurine all at E0S0, spam Fugue skill on Aventurine and the team will perform better than on release when Acheron needed her LC to not be copium. Ice March 7 is even better than Aventurine if the team can survive (e.g. in Pure Fiction). I think the problem is a lot of people skipped either Jiaqio or Fugue so the team flies under the radar (plus a lot of people don't want to admit that their S1 or E2 Acheron pulls are no longer necessary for the unit to function)
Worst scenario is bob lose 50-50 and Castorice banner rerun Sunday, if i were Bob, im gonna skip all and get castorice/sunday first

Even an extremely sharp and experienced player like Pokke is having to be VERY methodical with resources, on a micro level, and plan pulls around leaks. And this is with a close to ideal start (The Herta being an ideal f2p carry, 3.0 launch and its future catering to her)

based but keep in mind SW might be harder to use now that alot of the endgame is catered to AOE rather than single target
i think before 3.0 SW still had use in certain scenarios but now it seems so much harder to get value out of her. Just something to note.

As someone doing a similar project to BOB skipping Robin seems to be where Im heading as well. At this point im aiming for Sunday/Castorice as my first team as I have Herta on my main. So Castorice/Sunday/RMC/Sustain is team 1 (assuming Sunday reruns along Cas) and then I can get a future dps in a later patch that might not need Robin. My account will probably progress slower due to not having account managers so Im fine with waiting for characters

I am a day 1 player, and monthly pass buyer, so I am sure that Robin COULD provide a LOT of value for a wide variety of my teams (especially Feixiao follow-up). However, after pulling both Sunday and THerta I do NOT want to spread myself too thin as I keep investing into some of the new 3.X teams and archetypes.
Personally, I'd already made plans on pulling for THerta and Castorice prior to the BOB Project, partially because of leaks and partially because of my own intuition and personal account needs. Prior to THerta, my account had neithrer AoE nor Ice DPS, so pulling her and planning to build her team was a no-brainer. When it comes to Castorice I just really liked her design, and it seems like she'll end up being the anniversary unit which lines up fantastically, so I made up my mind during Sunday's banner and pulled him after considering his possible future value to summon DPS. For a moment I considered pulling for Aglaea, seeing as she's a 3.X summon DPS which synergizes exceptionally well with Sunday, but I am not really in the need of another Electric DPS (even if she's the fancy new unit and she may have faster clears SINCE SHE'S NEW) and I'd value more investing those pulls into my future teams mentioned prior.
Robin's value has NOT diminished persay, as she still is and will remain BiS for many of the 2.X or even other crit DPS teams.
BUT I think it's fair to say that other future units (regardless of leaks) may reasonably offer more SPECIFIC support to certain future / existing teams, and that Robin will be of less value then (DoT, Summon, HP teams, etc.).
f2p eidolon enjoyer here, easily clearing stage 12 in 4~7 cycles with e2 Archeron (no JQ) + Superbreak and never needed a Robin, I'm confident that I can still clear future content unless the devs force me to play Summons.
- Skipping Tribbie unless she can provide some sustain utility with good buffs, we've seen Jade as a support sub-dps role, so who knows.
- I plan to get e2 Fugue for a 24% of Robin's main utility, coupled with a 50% with an e2 Sparkle (+16~24% w/DDD if needed).
IMO multiple Split AV pullups are a bit more flexible (but require some speed tuning) than one big AOE pullup if you don't want to build a team around a bare-minimum Robin.
Waiting for the next character leak and update is probably the most difficult thing to do in Hoyoverse.
But regarding Robin situation, based on the Castorice animations, her kit seems to have her memosprite dragon deal the majority of damage while she is slow herself, hence the new 4 piece quantum set that slows you down for more crit rate, basically tailor made. So the action advance from Robin would greatly help both Castorice and her memosprite dragon deal more damage. Compared to Tribbie having similar damage buffs but is more focused on making AOE attacks, which caters more to The Herta.

Supports have been pretty universal with specialty making them really strong. Tribbie will follow the same trend.

Bob actually made sense especially on the Robin's energy problem. A lot of time even with Bron sig S1 in a FuA team u cannot always get the Ult when u want it without the rng of getting hit or QPQ. For Therta this might actually be a problem, but I dont think so for Aglaea. Aglaea acts like a lot cause her speed is so high plus AV advance from RMC. However cannot say the same for Catorice cause she apparently has very low speed. So not getting Robin might not be that crazy.
Moral of the story: Look at leaks
I think that Castorice may synergise well with Tribbie, and then maybe Hyacine will be the healer. When Tribbie will be out, Castorice model will be out, so we will know if she’s best in slot with Castorice. I’m pretty confident Sunday is best in slot for her because of her summon and her relic kit but for the 3rd slot it’s hard to say if it’s Rmc, Tribbie, Robin or a sub dps. Who knows. For the 4th and last slot I do think she’ll need a healer rather than a Tank if she loses her own hp. So Luocha,Lingsha,HuoHuo or Gallagher

I feel like big part of Robin's value is teamwide damage buff which is useful in FUA teams. But with hypercarry, I think her triple action advance isn't any better than Sunday. Since her action advance just happens on ult cast.

Vertical investment definitely has better performance, but horizontal investment has more fun (and I mean specifically for clearing endgame) so while you can take 8 to 10 cycles to clear it's a valid approach. Players don't have to compromise between performance and taste in this game, all they need is to support the characters they like instead of ONLY pulling for taste.
Skipping Robin is an example of how accounts have different needs and you have the resources to build the account you want, it's about time players stop following guides as an order and start thinking about what the guides are saying, because they're supposed to be just that, a source of information to make an educated decision.

Basing on the relic for slow speed seem to fit castorice.
We have seen robin advance work on memosprite, while it's not as many as sundae, it still required for a slow castorice without sunday. Specially if tribbie has 0 advance forward.

@ ah yes robin buffs are useless like her crit damage buffs, damage %, team wide action adv, her own damage which which is pretty significant. Sure they can't use her atk buff but acting like she is useless is a brain dead take.
I like this take. While "pull Robin" is good general advice and you can't go wrong with it, tailoring your pulls around your own account is even better advice.
I skipped Sunday for Fugue because my account was heavily invested in fua/superbreak. Sunday 100% offers more general value and application than Fugue, but he doesn't have great synergy for either of my teams. Fugue however is the biggest upgrade I can get for Firefly as a player who started after Ruan Mei's rerun.

BOB not pulling for Bobin feels wrong on so many levels.
Why though. I have bobin e0 with the event light cone and I personally don't think she lives up to the glaze. Her buffs are great but she's has major energy issues without her sig LC which may require you to use sunday or tingyun ult on her instead of ur carry. The holes in her kit are very noticeable at lower stellar jade investment. And even with those eidolons and her sig, support powercreep might just negate those investments entirely (sparkle vs sunday). And bob can't invest vertically till he has solid base teams.
@@itsjohn-michael why? Herta + energy slave don't need Robin. If Castorice ends up being HP scaling, then she does not benefit from Robin's ATK buff. Robin is absolutely amazing, but not necessary for Bob's account.
Honestly, with Robin being 2nd half just wait until we get the early access/stream over Tribbie (new Harmony unit), then decide if she fits your roster or not.
Robin will be really good no matter what, but depending on your team Tribbie may suit it better.
i'm positive she's future proof and she will still be one of the best characters in the game. The only reason i skipped her and will still is that i dont have issues clearing the whole game with my current characters and i prefer waiting for characters i'll fall for

I am in a very similar situation to Bob - in fact Bob is probably better off in terms of pulls - as I have returned to an account that I stopped playing in like 1.1. I have managed to get Herta and Lingsha, and am trying to figure out what to do about team 2 eventually. Looking at what I have, the only option really would be a Clara team, where Robin would fit well. Though I'd probably prefer to wait and go for Castorice, and in that case even if I did get Robin, I'm not even sure if she'll get used (at least in the near future) - though that depends on what Tribbie does and whether she will be better then Robin for her 🤔I would really want Robin for future, but the plan right now is probably to wait with pulling anything until we know more on Tribbie, as I do not think I have a chance of getting both

@sutkonos Algaea BiS is Sunday. You won't even have enough energy for ults without him. The current cheapest and most efficient Algaea sustain team is Sunday+Bronya.
Mydei would get adjusted and heavily buffed, and he doesn't need Robin.
Castorice is a slow hp based memosprite dps, she would benefit from Sunday+Bronya pulling Sunday even more than Algaea. Imagine being barely better than free unit. And all of this while Tribbie could still get big buffs to her performance and potentially replacing Robin in other older teams.

well i have robin and im pulling tribbie anyway bc i think she is better for the herta, im rly considering pulling for aglea since i wanna pair her with sunday i think she is stronger than the herta from what i have seen, i can use robin in aglea team and tribbie in the herta team and it should be fine. I started the game in november. Got lucky and pulled Sunday with 50 pulls because i heard the new characters in 3.X will be summon focused. I really wanted Feixiao as well so i pulled on her Rerun and got her as well with the 50/50. Herta made it into my account as well.
Now im asking myself if i should summon for Robin, Aglaea or just skip and wait for perhaps Tribbie and Castorice. I get to over 200 summons at the end of february (Currently at 170). Im really thinking about skipping Robin but everybody says Feixiao is literally unplayable without her. Not sure what to do

obv pull for who u like, but if u want to somehow follow the meta a bit this i what i would do.
pulling for aglaea or castorice will benefit your account a lot cuz u already have the best in slot support for them(sunday).
Keep in mind that if u pull for another dps(casto or aglaea) u will end up with 3 dps (the herta, feixiao,and aglaea/casto).
Having 3 dps is not that much of a problem but it's just not functional as u need only 2 teams in hsr, so u won't use one of them.
let's just say u want to pull for castorice cuz u like her (based), u have a solid team number 1(sunday casto and bla bla) and u need a team number 2, so u have to choose between feixiao or the herta.
if u really want to play feixiao u have to pull for robin, feixiao is not unplayable without her but u are losing a ton of dps without robin. Must pull, no debate.( robin is arguably the best char in the game and u can play her in basically every team, except very specific scenario like superbreak, so u will never regret pulling for her even if in the future feixiao will get powercreept to death)
if u want to play the herta then u can either play her in a f2p team, wich is good enough, or u can consider pulling for tribbie (very optional, herta doesn't need her that much, she's just a very good unit for her and for your account in general).
the last option is not pulling for aglaea/casto and just play the herta and feixiao, in that case i would pull for robin (ofc) and tribbie. i know i said that she is not a must pull but since you will likely skip every other char (mydei, castorice, anaxa) u can safely pull for her as if u loose the 50/50 in not that much of a problem.
BUT in case u loose the 50/50 on tribbie you should just pull the guaranteed castorice and play her with sunday, fuck the herta.

My personal idea was aswell to pull Aglaea (Since i like her Design a lot and i have Sunday) and then pull Robin. Yes i probably have 3 teams then and not much left for Tribbie but thats the problem with pulling Feixiao and her needing Robin. Atleast my Feixiao is not gonna end up being unusuable so i probably follow your and everyones tip to pull her since she is a must have for Fei.
My Herta works wonders with RMC and Serval for now. If i can get some pulls for Tribbie i might do it but atleast i was able to clear PF, most of MOC and APOC for now. Thank you again, helped a lot with deciding!!!

@@EmsOnYT-I I don't think Feixiao needs Robin to perform well, so you pulling her is not a mistake since she's still a good unit. Considering you have free supports like Hunt March 7th and Remembrance MC (who can work with Feixiao at E4), you can still have a functioning team without Robin. Even Bronya can work too. Add to that potential future proof since any unit that can attack/enable attacks multiple times (whether follow up, action advance, or memosprite, etc.) can fuel Feixiao's ult.
Yeah, you can't reach the damage ceiling that Robin allows for Feixiao to achieve, but her floor is so high that as long as you know how to fuel her ult then she will work just fine. Robin is for sure amazing but I just hope you don't let yourself get pressured into pulling if you don't actually want to pull. (if you do tho, go ahead lol)
This is just my two cents as someone who skipped Robin (bc I didn't vibe with her that much) and can still full clear with Feixiao. You could say its just f2p cope but coping is what keeps f2p going 😂. Good luck bruv.

I pulled her because she was stated as a must pull and a broken support but I don’t have Feixiao and to this day she has been benched and have not once found a good use or real need for her anywhere. Now it looks like I never will find a use for her with Tribbie releasing.
I regret pulling her. Now I can’t get both Tribbie and Sunday. I’ll have to pick one for Castorice and I’m hoping that just Sunday and RMC will be enough.

It’s gonna kill FuA team if summon team has as much action as FuA. So E0S0 Bubbin is a bit hard to play. So waiting for Tribbie kits first is the best choice.

I'm hoping Tribbie can replace Sunday more so than Robin, but it's looking more like she's AoE Robin (damage wise) more than anything. Not sure abt her kit since I haven't had any dreams but from what Hoyo has said so far there's no AV advance in her kit.

Let’s pretend that we don’t know what Tribbie does. That said, what if Tribbie is the last support who’s not centered around summons, just like how Sparkle was the last hypercarry support, and she doesn’t have a bit of synergy with Castorice. At that point what should Bob do? Pull for Robin,who we know can work with memosprites, or wait for Sunday? Personally I think Sunday is the safer choice as Robin can fall out of the meta very easily, Hoyo can just release only hp scaling units in 3.x making Robin simply a downgrade. Of course that implies skipping both Tribbie and Robin.

pulling Robin right now if you dont have either Yunli or Feixiao is really not that great, same as it was pulling ruan mei on rerun if you didnt have a dot or break comp. Although Robin fits in many more teams and outperforms RM in anywhere but break, she is still tied to crit and atk scailing DPS. Since HP meta is gonna be a thing, skipping every single rerun if you just started is really not that crazy, Lingsha might be the only one worth it
if you are free to play you need to pick the characters that have that have the greatest impact robin atm can be slotted into any team and just work even at e0 and no sig and even as power creep happens supports take way longer to fall off if they are well designed vs dps look at ruan mei still top in slot for break but she was the bread and butter for the majority of teams for most of hsr lifetime at time of posting and she is still a great support in general for accounts with not many choices for high end supports long story short supports are way less painful to invest in because usually they have long term impact even with lower investment and offer way more build diversity for teams in general.
