I liked the part where the cops chased him because it was the true feeling of batman returning and a bit of comedic relief. It shows everyone that Batman was the prime target while someone as big as Bane could be classified as a regular type of thug, which ended up making Batman go bankrupt etc.
I agree with you in some sort of sense, the first 30 mins was great until batman *dissapeared* but the middle I was like wtf, but after the entire movie I realized..the middle was what built the ending.
Well, the Dark Knight was a trilogy and since it pretty much connected all the movies to this one I'd say it's on par with the Avengers. Both were the greatest.

i get what you're saying, and agree mostly but you have to admit they could have made batman's first showing out of retirement be a little more enjoyable and perhaps awesome while instead they just made him drive around gotham with the cops after him. I don't really see how that built the ending in any way................. MY OPINION :D
