Well I don't think DC will reboot just to do something similar to man of steel again, I also think they won't make superman too corny. I think how the MCU did Captain America is a good example of doing a character with similar high morals work in the modern setting without having to go too edgy.
I am quite interested in checking out earth one series based on your review of sorts. I have never liked superman as a character, considering him overrated but this portrayel makes him likeable. Now Iam curious about your view of Green Lantern, whose Earth one series was amazing.
Did you read the Frank Miller's origin of Superman? It was one of the most nonsensical things I've ever read. But I appreciate the beginning, when the Superman was in the army. It was something different.

Green Lantern Earth One is, in my opinion, the only truly "good" Green Lantern story ever written. It's VERY good.
