I was born and lived at linley and spent a lot of time around swallowmore wood as a kid. I was annoyed by the mess in the wood the last time i visited it was pristine in there and a lovely oasis to spend time.I have been reading the diarys of mr Caldwell the last few months trying to fathom out the landscape of yore. I hope to spend more time around the area this summer .
Would be interesting to know what else you know about the place. Could not really draw up the rear side of the place because not sure what the old stable area looked like.

Steve Cooper who farms the fields around you told me yrs ago and i have heard this off a few folk that Rodger Moore used to stay up there and drink in the little golf club.
