I was born and lived at linley and spent a lot of time around swallowmore wood as a kid. I was annoyed by the mess in the wood the last time i visited it was pristine in there and a lovely oasis to spend time.I have been reading the diarys of mr Caldwell the last few months trying to fathom out the landscape of yore. I hope to spend more time around the area this summer .

@@bradleybeckett1580 Awesome. There used to be a chap who drank in the Yeoman which is now the Railway inn called Marnie/ Marney ? who lived up there are you related ? Steve Cooper who farms the fields around you told me yrs ago and i have heard this off a few folk that Rodger Moore used to stay up there and drink in the little golf club. I rememeber a girl my age ish called Michlin Dale living up there too.
