I have great respect for these people. How many of us in our comfortable homes with electricity and running water could survive in this harsh northern Russia environment?
Which begs the question, how long is the average life span of these people? And were they impacted by covid. Do they have access to medical facilities? So many of these documentaries don't address these issues.

Covid was created by china for whitey, knee gros and other races, not us. They don't need medical facilities because they know how to cure various illnesses with medicine from nature. "Humans" knew how to start fires before we evolved into Homo sapiens, but apparently not all of us, as archeological evidence and cultural evidence shows. To this day there are tribes that start all their fires with flint or by rubbing sticks and kindling, and tribes that to this day don't know how to start a fire and only have fire when one starts naturally and they harvest the fire by lighting logs, living in different remote areas of Earth. In one sci fi novel I read, aliens determined whether a species was sentient and they were if they could talk and start a fire. Interestingly, you can see white Americans visiting the most remote tribes in Africa, and when these guys need to smoke a cigarette they stop on the trail, rub some sticks together to start a fire, and light their cigarette.
I'm Native and these people are so similar to us. Instead of deer, it's sheep for us. The little ones chopping wood reminds me of my little brother when he was that age too. They even have their babies bundled up in cradleboards, lol. No running water, no electricity. Hauling wood, hauling coal.
Since we were put on reservations, we aren't so nomadic anymore though. Some families still have winter and summer camps, though.

im from the islands.. my dad and uncles would spear for fish... while i and older children would hunt for crabs in the rocks. they would throw the fish at the beach for the youngest to gather up. we would also throw the crabs to the beach. I remember the day i was being taught to spear for fish. i was a man that day, I was so proud. my older brother mocked me so much. my younger cousins would cheer for me each time i threw them a fish. these days all i do is make software for american companies. so different. its hard to relate when talking with coworkers. im an older man, my children will never experience what I did. that family unity is gone forever.
This is exactly how my ancestors lived here in Republic of Sakha (Yakutia)
They wore the same clothes, have the same look, houses, deers, songs etc
They came here from afar, built small windowless houses and settled
I imagine that the people from video and my ancestors were one community once, long time ago

Nope, Nenets do not live like Sakha, there are some pretty big differences in their cultures, although big similarities also. The clothes aren't the same! For starters, Nenets have Arctic culture, whereas Sakha have Subarctic culture! Nenets are very mobile in their truly nomadic lifestyle, keep only absolutely necessary items, clothes are decorated only to a limited degree (so that wind doesn't blow through sewing holes etc.) etc. Sakha are way less nomadic, they usually are semi-nomadic or sedentary. They can keep and collect more items, because there are more well-built houses to keep them in. Sakha clothing contains some heavy metallic jewellery - totally impractical for truly Arctic nomadic lifestyle! Also faces of Nenets and Yakuts aren't the same! So no, not most similar people. But on other hand, of course, they have some similarities too, like frozen fish on menu etc.
I could have watched this for hours. Usually when I'm watching a video I'm restless and i keep scrolling while it's playing, but while watching this i forgot for a few minutes everything, i was startled when it ended, i had even forgotten my troubles, haha. I think it's also because it had real sounds instead of music. It's one of the best videos I've ever watched. Can't you upload more of their lives?

I was thinking the same exact thing! I lose interest very quickly on most videos and even one's that start out interesting, I change to something new after a couple minutes. I had my eyes glued to this. Fascinating! I think that's the problem with today's lifestyles, we're always looking for the next best thing and perhaps that's why I was so intrigued by this... because this is something to vastly different than anything we're familiar with. Side note- I also liked the fact that it had natural sounds and not music playing over it. Perfect!

The kids are so well wrapped-up, you can't make out their shape! Just a bundle of deerskins toddling around! Must be cozy, though, and well-cared-for.
I wish i had deerskin clothing. Must be incredibly expensive.
It made me think of one of my earliest memories in life, from here in Norway, being packed up in lots of clothes in the winter, feeling snug as a worm in a cocoon, breathing fresh cold air. It's incredibly comfortable, and so easy to just drift into sleep. When I was a child I insisted on sleeping with the window open to the bedroom even in the winters, that's a luxury I've forgotten about.
I can’t help but feel like I saw a glimpse of where we all once came from, and possibly what humanity might once again come to. But man’s incessant survival is truly extraordinary.

@surviving gamer because modern life is boring. There's difference you buying food after 10/24 from the market and growing your own food and tasting it. Also, such communities are more tight depending on each other. Maybe not in such extreme conditions, but living simpler life has its own appeal.

Unironically more difficult to move a house today. They said it only takes an hour to build. Can't take more than 2 hours to load onto a cart. The reindeer does the work after. It usually take more than 3 hours to put things in boxes before you even start to move today lmao

The first nation in Canada ( indian and Inuits) are very similar in clothing, housing, food, song, etc. They all settle now and sometimes has issue to adapt with the western world around them. Surprising to see that these people can still live with their traditional way… so precious.

Although there is a minimum merit it doesn't say much because your statement implies we were in the stone age and the great white man invented everything there is. When reality it is all humanity just compounding progress on each other. Europe has only been domoinant for a few centuries, which isn't spectacular on the whole human scale, also abother culture will come along sooner than you think that will make better things than the west, and hopefully they can do it without exploiting and pilliaging like the euros did.
Plus our technology isn't really made by european white hands is it? Even the development, isn't made 100% by white heads. You could argue the only real advantage the West has is an arbitrary and manipulated finance system that allow them to monopolize many sectors, but even that is fading aways as the smoke slowly disipates.

I've watched many videos of the nenets watching TV on iPads, cellphones etc. They use generators at night. They also wash dishes with water. They don't just wipe them down.
Wondering how they bathe?
wipe down with soap and water when too cold outside. Or use baby wipes like my son in the Army when they are in the field. Easy.

Interesting how their language, whether Forest or Tundra Nenets, is classified in the Uralic group, along with languages like Finnish and Hungarian.
Because Finish and Hungarian people adopted their language from the ancestors of Nenets who came from Siberia. This is why they are the only white people who do not speak an Indo-European language. The Sami people probably looked more Mongoloid like Nenets before they were mixed with Europeans

I don't think it's something most of us would be cut out for, but I can't help but feel that these people living a peaceful life working with their families, neighbors, and animals are happier than the bulk of us who have to spend most of our waking hours making money for someone who wouldn't care if we dropped dead

Only until their health fails, or someone falls ill, or an accident happens. An axe that slips can cause dreadful damage, and problematic pregnancies can cause death. Then being out there without neighbours or doctors would be life-threatening.

I think it’s impossible to have outhouses or backyard privies because of the frozen ground. I would be interested to find out how the Nenets people dispose of human waste but I understand it being a delicate subject. I have also wondered how the women deal with their menstrual periods. Using products such as absorbent pads covered in plastic that are used in more populated areas of their country would create a problem in disposing of the used products. Is this a subject you might explore in the future, dear Patrushevs?

I think I may or may not have been one of yall in another lifetime lol I'm not even kidding. I had this very vivid dream one night. More vivid and different than any other dream I've had before. I was in some kind of animal skin hut or tent like thing. I remember there being some kind of rugs or maybe more skins on the ground. I remember opening the "door" and seeing nothing but white snow everywhere and it was snowing and I felt the extreme cold. All of a sudden this beautiful girl that looks similar to your people came in as if she was asked to come sit with me like in a arrangement kind of thing for love. It was so bizarre because I felt like I belonged there and this was home. I remember her smiling and she had her head down a little bit like being shy. All of a sudden everything went black and I woke up. I think it must have gotten too emotional that I snapped back into this time frame. Unless that is the moment I passed from that life back in time. Maybe a murder? Or tragic accident? Who knows. I swear to u I'm not just making up stories. I have always thought about this since it happened I have never forgot. All of a sudden I came upon this video and it reminded me of it. I'm trying my hardest to remember what the girl was wearing and the color and texture but it's so foggy. Hopefully one day I can remember and see if it matches anything in history of yours or others like your people.

This is so beyond what we know. Going to Walmart ect. These amazing people APPRECIATE the animal that help them travel, be warm, have food and so much more we don't know. I want to send my kids out here so there asses appreciate what they have

She moved to town for winter. (It was not the jungle but actually the northern part of russia) in summer she returns to that house in forest
Fascinating, although they have a hard working life so much freedom and organic living too, total opposite to me here in London. The women certainly seem to work very hard. I did heave at the raw deer meat and blood but not judging their diet, which especially in ancient times kelt them alive. Thank you for posting this.

It seems we all recognize things in common among us where ever we live. It is interesting how we learn to like certain things and dislike others. I'm like you, i couldn't go for the raw meat and the drinking of blood. I know that many native people here in the US drank it for quick energy. Makes sense. I'm experiencing low energy from heart valve trouble. Maybe i should go get me some deer blood. I have one peering in my window once in a while !

Remarkable people. Nothing is more fascinating than how climate and surroundings shapes genetics and culture. Like how the people of Bolivia and Ecuador have adapted to living in altitudes which make others sick.
These folks have adapted to harsh climates and sparse offerings breeding a stout, durable and creative people over generations. When other societies collapse they will keep going
One thing to note is that those trees were cut down with chainsaws. I could clearly see the cut side of the tree. So they do have some modern amenities. But still the toughest living I've ever seen. Respect!
