I have a LS swapped 65 C10 that is similar, though I plan to do some upgrades & may use some of your ideas like your serpentine belt system, brake system & bed cover; can you offer me any advice? I bought it years ago because my dad had one just like it when I was young.

Agreed on the body line. ALL that spent on the truck and it really does take away what is otherwise an awesome truck.Body panels never did fit well from factory but c'mon, that would drive me crazy but I guess James doesn't mind. Would LOVE to have the truck but that would have get fixed for me. And yes I do have a 64 big window short bed fleet side that is a rotisserie restoration in progress and those damn panels are exactly where I am at, lol .

Wise choice losing the long bed and going to a short bed...badass truck dude..
gdub454 long beds are better and at this point rarer cause half have been converted to short bed
