Did anybody else notice the cool motorcycle parked behind Pat Simmons as he spoke? I am glad he gave a shout out to all the other great Doobies over the years and with the motorcycle-- gently honored the bikers and motorcycle dudes and gals who were the very first Doobie Brothers fans. Very nice.

Think about it, Black Water, Listen To The Music, Jesus Is Just (More Than) Alright, and let's not forget what a terrific musical statement Takin' It To The Streets is taken in it's entirety. But......the most damn under rated and fantastic bassist in all of rock and roll is my buddy Tiran Porter. Lyrical, funky and soulful, the world has never met a more sincere and genuine person. Congrats to the Brothers for their induction and really, it's about time for the love of Jesus. Who's Just Alright. It’s about time! They should have been in the hall years ago! Correct me if I’m wrong but other greats who are not in the hall that should be and makes the hall of fame stink up the place are; Boston, Grand Funk, America, Bread, Bad Company, Styx, Foghat, Thin Lizzy, Judas Priest, UFO, who else?

Such an amazing group of very, very talented musicians. They have contributed so much in so many ways. They do it to this day with class, because they are truly grateful for the gift they all have. Love you all and can’t wait to see the band soon with Michael McDonald!

Oh my gosh, guys....CONGRATULATIONS for FINALLY getting the honor you’ve deserved for at least 30+ years. The Rock ‘n’ Roll Hall of Fame has looked like a bunch of idiots for decades now, and only now becomes semi-legit in my eyes. I’m so happy for you, as are all the millions of your fans. How wonderful!

I posted something similar elsewhere, but I saw the doobies on the final night of the first leg (rescheduled due to COVID), i was kinda prodded into it (i used to go to every show I was interested in; not so much anymore lol, I’m old - not REALLY though lol - and would rather stay home more often than not) by a friend, and I am so glad he pushed me into it because they were EXCELLENT, 2 1/2 hours of hits (they pretty much did every song I thought they’d do, and much more), Tom Johnston/Michael McDonald/Pat Simmons singing, Billy Payne on keyboards/piano, and it was so good I’m gonna hopefully get tix to their summer concert 🎵 that’s gonna be in my area.
They opened with Nobody form the first album, a tune I’d not been familiar with (when I was first getting into music, I’d had my mother’s copy of Best Of The doobies, so…), kicked it up a notch by going right into Take Me In Your Arms, a few tunes later it was rockin Down the highway, they did You Belong To Me, What A Fool Believes, It Keeps You Runnin’, Takin It to the streets, South city Midnight Lady, then they got down to China Grove and LongbTrain Runjin, encored with Black Water, Takin It To The Streets and Listen To The Music….I was very impressed, can’t recommend it more
