I woke up this morning, and as I often do, I just sat up, closed my eyes and thought to myself, what's the one thing that's the most important for me to do? Many things came up. I'm still not confident in my ability to treat and store alternative water sources. I know WHERE to find it. I have a truck; and it's pretty close by, relatively. But I can't store this water long - term in the plastic bottle, that I just bought; EVEN if it's considered food-grade; because plastics leach into the water; and the whole point is to drink healthier water. At the moment, money IS an issue; so I have to be careful about how much I spend. I need to acquire some kind of metal or glass storage container that is big enough for my water needs; or multiple pint sized glass or metal containers, perhaps. I don't want to spend all day trying to get water, so I need to dip in a large container by the rushing mountain stream; and be done with it. Perhaps 3 of these. But the issue arises, if I use my plastic, how long can I keep it in there; before it leaches? If I use some kind of glass jar, it can be heavy, break easily, and slip out of my hands when I'm carrying it. So, that seem to leave some kind of metal container. Perhaps I can have the metal container sitting in the bed of the truck, use a 5 gallon bucket to source the water, and pour that immediately into the metal container? But then, once that container, which I was envisioning as rather large get's full, I'll need a lid; and I'll want to be able to carry it. I'm strong but even a guy who could lift 200 lbs straight over his head, wouldn't be able to do that. Especially with the awkward carrying angle and the way that water is bound to slosh back and forth. Then, there's a two step process of FILTERING FIRST; and then PURIFYING. If you purify first, then you can wind up with dirt particles that hide bacteria or other pathogens. So, I need to watch many more videos and get a SENSE of my direction in this. This is ONE MAJOR PIECE OF THE SELF-SUFFICIENCY PUZZLE; and not getting this right could expose me to disease now; but more importantly, when I might be off grid and don't have quick access to an emergency room. But what I began thinking about, was the nature of the women nowadays, and I thought about WHY so many are angry. And I'm beginning to think it's a subconscious backlash to everything they've been subjected to throughout not only THEIR lives; but the lives of women down through the ages. And the big thing that kept popping up in my mind, was how vulnerable they've been to attackers. And this REALLY bothered me, bothers me; because women are attacked far more than men statistically. And those are just the statistics that are reported. This will be continued...

I woke up this morning, and as I often do, I just sat up, closed my eyes and thought to myself, what's the one thing that's the most important for me to do?
Many things came up. I'm still not confident in my ability to treat and store alternative water sources. I know WHERE to find it. I have a truck; and it's pretty close by, relatively. But I can't store this water long - term in the plastic bottle, that I just bought; EVEN if it's considered food-grade; because plastics leach into the water; and the whole point is to drink healthier water. At the moment, money IS an issue; so I have to be careful about how much I spend. I need to acquire some kind of metal or glass storage container that is big enough for my water needs; or multiple pint sized glass or metal containers, perhaps.
I don't want to spend all day trying to get water, so I need to dip in a large container by the rushing mountain stream; and be done with it. Perhaps 3 of these. But the issue arises, if I use my plastic, how long can I keep it in there; before it leaches? If I use some kind of glass jar, it can be heavy, break easily, and slip out of my hands when I'm carrying it. So, that seem to leave some kind of metal container. Perhaps I can have the metal container sitting in the bed of the truck, use a 5 gallon bucket to source the water, and pour that immediately into the metal container? But then, once that container, which I was envisioning as rather large get's full, I'll need a lid; and I'll want to be able to carry it. I'm strong but even a guy who could lift 200 lbs straight over his head, wouldn't be able to do that. Especially with the awkward carrying angle and the way that water is bound to slosh back and forth.
Then, there's a two step process of FILTERING FIRST; and then PURIFYING. If you purify first, then you can wind up with dirt particles that hide bacteria or other pathogens.
So, I need to watch many more videos and get a SENSE of my direction in this. This is ONE MAJOR PIECE OF THE SELF-SUFFICIENCY PUZZLE; and not getting this right could expose me to disease now; but more importantly, when I might be off grid and don't have quick access to an emergency room.
But what I began thinking about, was the nature of the women nowadays, and I thought about WHY so many are angry. And I'm beginning to think it's a subconscious backlash to everything they've been subjected to throughout not only THEIR lives; but the lives of women down through the ages. And the big thing that kept popping up in my mind, was how vulnerable they've been to attackers. And this REALLY bothered me, bothers me; because women are attacked far more than men statistically. And those are just the statistics that are reported.
