After that video (6:27) I wouldn't be surprised if home was a representation of a*use (parental mostly but it could also be any kind). Because we can take a guess that wally lived in the neighbourhood his whole life so home would basically be Wally's guardian (because, sentient house, also home is right in the middle so I believe they were here first then the others built their houses.).
But if we take into account that Wally doesn't understand much of everything, because it seems to me the whole show is about the cast teaching wally and also the viewers everyday things kids need to know, then we can imagine that wally wasn't taught these things by his guardian growing up so now he has to learn by his friends.
(Also he could very well be on the autism spectrum, not a part of this theory, just an interesting thought if we take into account his speech patterns and how he talks and takes in the world,)
