I'm amazed at how much better they sound live than on record - it's "amped up" completely. Would love to hear a live album, professionally recorded and mastered...
First time when i heard the songs from this band...and then i think ..this is the music that i 've been looking for, so creative mixed with many style of music, great band especially Aisha... love this song.
wow, thank you so much for this. they were insanely good on stage back then. cheers 00:00 lever street 03:50 rematerialised 08:10 blood yawning 15:10 death threat 20:05 flying 27:55 aisha 33:00 rekkit 38:55 broken little sister 43:50 dirt 49:50 one more time 54:35 neptune city 1:01:45 dirge
There is no doubt in my mind that this is peak DiV. Lever Street sounds amazing, Rematerialised as well, Aisha is awesome, Rekkit absolutely rocks, the crescendo in Dirt is monstrous, the horn section takes One More Time to another level, Neptune City could go on forever and Dirge with live lyrics to close this out is perfect. Imagine finding a good copy of this broadcast with proper audio quality, it would be beyond awesome!
Despite the sound quality, I now know what Death in Vegas is about. The electronica/psych was good enough, but the horn section broke me. What a great band!
Came here to hear a kick ass band, was not disappointed. Fantastic version of Dirge at the end. Bad sound quality though :/, but thanks for the upload !
por lo menos, si estas en youtube y buscando el mejor recital de Death In Vegas, es este, y si tenes otro por favor comentalo abajo ! q bandon, entre la neblina y el mate !
Why do I never hear much on this level from American musicians? The last group I heard from over the pond which had any 'credence' (if that's not the wrong word) were U.N.C.L.E. and they mostly focused on remixes- although 'Eye for an Eye' is pure original and one of the best tunes ever written, cold fact.
N1H1L9 : what a load of Euro-centric bollix! Ain't you never heard of Oneida, Death Grips, Clouddead etc. The USA is exactly the same as Europe for weirdo music!
breizh waren Not really. Tim and Fearless are credited with the writing of the songs but the process of writing the Contino Sessions (or really most of their albums, but this live is mostly the first two) was to come up with ideas for the musicians, let them jam, record that, come up with structue and arrangement from the recording, then get the musicians to play again, etc, until they've got a final track to mixdown. The set of musicians you see on stage are the ones playing on Contino: Simon Hanson on the Drums, Mat Flint on the guitar, Seamus Beaghen on keys, etc... If you want to see an electronic band doing a true re-interpretation of electronic music with a live band, check out Massive Attack lives.
Yes, the musicians are the same you hear on the record. The degree to which what you hear on the record is composed by holmes/fearless or by the musicians is unknown - what the credits tells us is that holmes/fearless have got the publishing rights - they get royalties when the song get played, you have to ask their permission to do the cover. They hold the intellectual property. Whether this business arrangement is a true reflection of the composition process is, given what we know of the band's writing process, debatable. But then it's much simpler for a lot of musicians to get paid as session and live tour musicians and not be legally part of "the band". But it remains that this live, and the record, wouldn't sound like this if it weren't for the drummer, bass player, the two guitarists and the guy on the keys (Seamus Beaghen -he's on TH-cam, you can ask him :p)

I think it is really hard to make a live like this for a 2 members band

SoundOnSoundOnSound But this is a live. Isn't it?
So the musicians kind of composers?
