Great video Corey ❤ my mother and sister are adamant modalists and I struggle with it daily. They are UPCI. They get mean when I share bible verses with them that go against what their pastor says. They tell me that I'm too proud to submit to the Holy Spirit because if I really submitted to Him, I would have spoken in tongues. They don't accept that I'm saved without tongues. I don't know how to speak to them anymore, I've put up walls because it's like talking to a tape recorder. They say the same things over and over but don't ever hear what I'm saying to them! I love them and I will never stop sharing Truth with them however hard it may be. I pray that the Lord would fill me with love and grace when speaking to them 🙏

Where in the Bible does it say you must speak in tongues to be saved? You are saying the blood of Jesus isn't enough. That I must do something to earn my salvation. Let me tell you, if we had to work for our spiritual gifts none of us would receive them! None of us are worthy! The Lord gives all spiritual gifts as He wills, and I know I have the Holy Spirit within me. God has never left my side and guides every aspect of my life. He guided me out of the false teaching of UPCI and I pray He will guide you out too.
The Bible says many shall cast out demons and heal the sick and God says I never knew you. So tongues are awesome and gifts are awesome but without a relationship with God, he never knows you. So no gifts don't mean you are saved only a personal relationship with God makes you his child. I too was persuaded to take in tongues they tried to wave my arms to make me speak but something felt wrong. It took me many years before God revealed it's not about the gifts its about the relationship.

Not so much a joke, but, a mockery. I don't use the word Christian now. Most people will say they are christians. I say a believer. What does it mean, when Beyonce says it is hot? You know what she is trying to quote? Jeremiah 20:9, it's like fire shut up in my bones. To me, she is going off of something she has heard, not so much of what she has experienced. Excellent teaching brother Corey ! This really touched my conscience concerning our priority being to win souls. As you said, contending for the faith against heresy is important but should not get in the way of winning souls.
I know exactly what you mean (and agree) but its also important to remember that neither is presented as mutually exclusive in scripture. It is often through our contending against heresy that those unbelievers or false converts entrapped by heresy are drawn to a saving faith. The difference is the spirit by which we contend, not in our favoring one method of sharing truth over another. ❤
As long as you know Jesus to be God and you believe there is only one God who provided salvation through the shed blood of Jesus Christ you are i right standing with God. Don’t allow man made doctrines and traditions to cause you to doubt the salvation that God promised you. It’s not His will for us to be confused.
The truth Corey is expressing is why I rarely approach the subject of an influential but problematic teacher, pastor, or ministry leader from the argument of whether they are a genuine fellow believer but by whether they are biblically qualified for their role. That's more important to me because of the influence they have to lead others astray and cause spiritual harm--whether they are saved or not. This is especially true the more high profile and popular that leader is. We may not be able to fairly assess an unqualified leader's salvation but the scriptures clearly define who should and should not be a leader within Christ's Body and Church.

I love this. I had some extremely flawed views of Jesus when I first came back to Him and the Holy Spirit worked it out in my heart. Loving christains who truly walk the walk are who helped lead me back. I know I was a big project for God. He saved me from witchcraft, mental illness, and a hardened heart. I will forever be grateful and never forget what He saved me from and just how much I am loved but also how unworthy I alone am of His forgiveness. Wholeheartedly living the values that Jesus set before us, loving on people, and sharing your testimonies are the best way to bring people to Christ. Our job is just to plant the seeds. The Holy Spirit will work all the kinks out.

53:00 I think there's a critical difference you're glossing over, that of not fully understanding the doctrine of the Trinity (of which I believe most American Christians are guilty, and which I do not believe is a salvation issue); vs. fully understanding and rejecting that doctrine (which is very much a salvation issue).
Mr. Cory your statement that a person who is practicing sin is not a Christian is wrong. Really Christians can be struggling with sin or baby Christians are still growing in their knowledge of God and what is proper holy living. You have to show baby Christians grace as they are growing in sanctification.

Hey Corey, Could you please explain "Jonah 3:10 KJV - And God saw their works, that they turned from their evil way; and God repented of the evil, that he had said that he would do unto them; and he did it not?" It seems turning away from evil is considered a work. And if turning from evil is a work then that work wont save us. It would have to be only faith that saves us. Pastors teach you also need to repent to be saved, but it seems repenting is a work according to this passage.
I can’t say I know for sure, but there may be something to be said for the fact that this occurred before Jesus. In Jonah, I believe people were still doing sacrifices and the Jewish traditions. Belief in Jesus for salvation is apart of the new covenant. That’s what I would think regarding that passage. What you included in that passage also didn’t really mention salvation? But God changed his mind about their punishment?

I'm a Trinitarian married to a Oneness Pentecostalist. Is my wife a born again Believer.... yes. Do we disagree on this issue... most certainly. Does her believing on Jesus in a certain way preclude from the Kingdom...nope, don't think so. Does it limit her perception of God.... certainly. I've jokingly said that one day when we're up there I'll take her over and count, "uno, dos, tres, see I told you so.." In fact my inlaws are the pastors of a Pentecostal church, (that I don't attend). While we have this and a few other theological differences, (tongues, the gifts, etc) we respectfully agree to disagree. Strangely they acknowledge there is the Father, the Son and the Spirit (in so doing acknowledging distinctions) but will stop short of saying there are three persons. They can't understand why I comfortable saying God is three Persons (and I think have to stop themselves from calling me a blashphemer). Despite these differences we are still one in Christ, I have no doubts about that. They are some of the most godly people I know. That said, I strongly maintain that the Bible gives overwhelming evidence for what we call the Trinity and I cannot deny the that. There are perhaps aspects of our faith that I misunderstand and that could be seen as a deal-breaker by someone else as regards my salvation. However the basis of our faith is... God created everything perfectly Man sinned and so all creation was cursed God provided an Atonement (Jesus) for that sin His life, death, resurrection and ascension testify to Him being the Son of God and the Saviour of mankind Jesus will return (very, very soon I hope) and redeem this world to himself And ultimately He WILL reign, not only for a 1000 years, (I'm a pre-mill) but forever after that. Is there any thing more that needs to be said? Just as an afterthought , I've heard it said that Pre-milleniasism is a deception from the enemy. So if I believe it does it mean that I'm not saved? On the flipside I've heard pre-mills say that A- or post-milleniasts are deceived, basically calling them unsaved.

I am a Trinitarian, however there is no verse that say’s believing in modalism means you cannot be saved. You MUST believe Jesus is God, but if you are confused about the Trinity, you are not unsaved because of it.
@831blk21 I think you misunderstand his point. Understanding how God exists is not the same as denying His existence. Modalist do not deny Jesus is God. They explain it differently. Certainly, we are not prideful enough to claim absolute certainty about the nature of God.

Which is what early jews most likely understood it to mean (thus their desire to stone Jesus for claiming divinity). My point is that modalist are not heretics simply because they disagree with trinitarians.
If you are in church and you're watching the smart Christian channel, that's ok... That's not ok. That's doing a good thing at the wrong time. No one is advocating to live like the world. We want to obey God because we love Him. But, we don’t obey perfectly. We can look good on the outside but have anger, or resentment or pride, or self righteous, or envy, etc…for years. Additionally we sin when we don’t do what God wants us to do. We have sin/blind spots that we are not aware of. We struggle with our fleshly nature. We are sinners saved by grace. But how we live doesn’t save us. God wants us to obey, but if we don’t we are not in danger of losing our salvation. There will be consequences and possibly loss of heavenly rewards. We can be rebellious children, but children nonetheless. I think we creatures want to judge others by their works to see if they are indeed saved. But if we are not saved by our works to begin with, then we can’t add works or perseverance to the back end for salvation. God knows who are His. He wants us to grow and change for the better, but not to stay saved.
I believe we were born into sin at the same time I believe we were taking out of sin, and at some point in time we begin working on way back into sin for today my main focus on Jesus Christ oh Lord God and father, in heaven, more aware of the flush and the world and the devil that lurks

Now, unless she has turned and repented, I think they all are making a mockery of God. That goes for Tyler Perry also. As for T.D.Jakes, I believe he is a false teacher and he didn't and doesn't believe a word he was preaching to others.

The bible never states that the devil authentically worshipped God. It shows that God gave him every opportunity to worship by making him a throne covering archangel (the highest and closest angelic position) with beautiful instruments of worship attached to him. But those blessings only made Satan prideful to the point of wanting to receive for himself the worship only God deserves. Judas also never sincerely followed Jesus which which revealed itself in his eventual betrayal. Both Satan and Judas were in close proximity to God but their hearts were not for Him. That's why scripture says that saving belief must not solely be intellectual or expressed in words alone but must come "from the heart" (Romans 10:9 )
We might say that many celebrities who profess to be Christians fall into the same type of pride as the devil because of the worship they receive through fame. Sadly, fame and cultural popularity can make many seek to usurp the glory that only belongs to God until they also begin to treat Him as an adversary to be overruled. This even happens to "celebrity" pastors. 😥
That said, I appreciate you because I always love to witness (and learn from) someone's whose heart prefers to believe the best even about the worse offenders and who always carries hope that they may eventually turn around and experience true salvation. God can certainly save a long time false convert. I'm living proof of that. Thanks for the inspiration to pray for Beyoncé. ❤

I know exactly what you mean (and agree) but its also important to remember that neither is presented as mutually exclusive in scripture. It is often through our contending against heresy that those unbelievers or false converts entrapped by heresy are drawn to a saving faith. The difference is the spirit by which we contend, not in our favoring one method of sharing truth over another. ❤
As long as you know Jesus to be God and you believe there is only one God who provided salvation through the shed blood of Jesus Christ you are i right standing with God. Don’t allow man made doctrines and traditions to cause you to doubt the salvation that God promised you. It’s not His will for us to be confused.
The truth Corey is expressing is why I rarely approach the subject of an influential but problematic teacher, pastor, or ministry leader from the argument of whether they are a genuine fellow believer but by whether they are biblically qualified for their role. That's more important to me because of the influence they have to lead others astray and cause spiritual harm--whether they are saved or not. This is especially true the more high profile and popular that leader is. We may not be able to fairly assess an unqualified leader's salvation but the scriptures clearly define who should and should not be a leader within Christ's Body and Church.

I love this. I had some extremely flawed views of Jesus when I first came back to Him and the Holy Spirit worked it out in my heart. Loving christains who truly walk the walk are who helped lead me back. I know I was a big project for God. He saved me from witchcraft, mental illness, and a hardened heart. I will forever be grateful and never forget what He saved me from and just how much I am loved but also how unworthy I alone am of His forgiveness. Wholeheartedly living the values that Jesus set before us, loving on people, and sharing your testimonies are the best way to bring people to Christ. Our job is just to plant the seeds. The Holy Spirit will work all the kinks out.

Really Christians can be struggling with sin or baby Christians are still growing in their knowledge of God and what is proper holy living. It seems turning away from evil is considered a work. And if turning from evil is a work then that work wont save us. It would have to be only faith that saves us. Pastors teach you also need to repent to be saved, but it seems repenting is a work according to this passage.

I'm a Trinitarian married to a Oneness Pentecostalist.
Is my wife a born again Believer.... yes. Do we disagree on this issue... most certainly. Does her believing on Jesus in a certain way preclude from the Kingdom...nope, don't think so. Does it limit her perception of God.... certainly. I've jokingly said that one day when we're up there I'll take her over and count, "uno, dos, tres, see I told you so.."
In fact my inlaws are the pastors of a Pentecostal church, (that I don't attend). While we have this and a few other theological differences, (tongues, the gifts, etc) we respectfully agree to disagree. Strangely they acknowledge there is the Father, the Son and the Spirit (in so doing acknowledging distinctions) but will stop short of saying there are three persons. They can't understand why I comfortable saying God is three Persons (and I think have to stop themselves from calling me a blashphemer). Despite these differences we are still one in Christ, I have no doubts about that. They are some of the most godly people I know.
That said, I strongly maintain that the Bible gives overwhelming evidence for what we call the Trinity and I cannot deny the that.
There are perhaps aspects of our faith that I misunderstand and that could be seen as a deal-breaker by someone else as regards my salvation. However the basis of our faith is...
God created everything perfectly
Man sinned and so all creation was cursed
God provided an Atonement (Jesus) for that sin
His life, death, resurrection and ascension testify to Him being the Son of God and the Saviour of mankind
Jesus will return (very, very soon I hope) and redeem this world to himself
And ultimately He WILL reign, not only for a 1000 years, (I'm a pre-mill) but forever after that.

Just as an afterthought , I've heard it said that Pre-milleniasism is a deception from the enemy. So if I believe it does it mean that I'm not saved? On the flipside I've heard pre-mills say that A- or post-milleniasts are deceived, basically calling them unsaved.

I am a Trinitarian, however there is no verse that say’s believing in modalism means you cannot be saved. You MUST believe Jesus is God, but if you are confused about the Trinity, you are not unsaved because of it.

No one is advocating to live like the world. We want to obey God because we love Him. But, we don’t obey perfectly. We can look good on the outside but have anger, or resentment or pride, or self righteous, or envy, etc…for years. Additionally we sin when we don’t do what God wants us to do. We have sin/blind spots that we are not aware of. We struggle with our fleshly nature. We are sinners saved by grace. But how we live doesn’t save us. God wants us to obey, but if we don’t we are not in danger of losing our salvation. There will be consequences and possibly loss of heavenly rewards. We can be rebellious children, but children nonetheless. I think we creatures want to judge others by their works to see if they are indeed saved. But if we are not saved by our works to begin with, then we can’t add works or perseverance to the back end for salvation. God knows who are His. He wants us to grow and change for the better, but not to stay saved.
