If this was in water, large sharks win easy considering they have amazing immune systems, to the point where they're resistant to cancer, they also have a resistance to what would be poison (which I assume would apply to venom as well) Bull shark seems like the best match, I'm assuming it has those resistances and they are about the size of large komodos but I don't know what shark would be the best match considering the bull shark would probably kill the komodo rather easily with it's 1300 psi bite (highest bite force for a shark if I'm correct)
Wolverines are common where I live in North West Canada. There is no chance of a Wolverine beating a dragon. Sure they would definitely start a fight with a dragon, they are fearless, but they would lose badly.

I would add a lion, elephant, and rhinoceros. Lions are often in packs, so it is very likely they would harass and kill the dragon or force it to run away. The elephants skin is so thick and its body so powerful that the komodo probably has NO chance. The rhino also has very thick skin and is so massive it would crush the komodo.

Basically, any aggressive, determined animal that is has the weapons/power to deal with the tough skin. Because, they'd always win first--even if the komodo could bite it. I think grizzlies, polar bears, jaguars, any large crocodilian, and any kind of constrictor should win.

When my kids were little I decided to take them to Costa Rica to see the white faced monkeys. II rented a bungalow on the beach at the entrance of a reservation with no guard. So here we are on a path in the forest , the kids looking up in the trees . When suddenly something catches my eyes 20 feet in front of us. A komodo dragon had just got out of the bushes to go to the sea. It wasn't a crocodile I had seen some before. This was IT. Thank God the kids never saw it and didn't make a sound. It didn't see us. I waited for it to get to the water and I grabbed the kids and ran so fast out of there. So scary!

Realistically 1 on 1 I don’t think any animal is going toe to toe with a hippo. Their size, bite force, and speed (on both land and water) mixed with their very aggressive nature makes a hippopotamus virtually un-killable in a fair 1v1 fight. Obviously we have known some prides of lions have preyed on hippos (almost always small calves) but regardless they have obviously been hunted before but a 1v1 fight hippos would beat every animal aside from MAYBE a full sized elephant

Bull shark seems like the best match, I'm assuming it has those resistances and they are about the size of large komodos but I don't know what shark would be the best match considering the bull shark would probably kill the komodo rather easily with it's 1300 psi bite (highest bite force for a shark if I'm correct)

I would add a lion, elephant, and rhinoceros. Lions are often in packs, so it is very likely they would harass and kill the dragon or force it to run away. The elephants skin is so thick and its body so powerful that the komodo probably has NO chance. The rhino also has very thick skin and is so massive it would crush the komodo.

Not sure why you put some extincted animals on your list. There is no way of knowing what they are capable of compared to living ones. Sumatran tiger vs Cougar is a no brainer. The tiger destroys the cougar within seconds. Sumatran tigers have defeated African lions on many occasions. In fact, they are the only tiger subspecies that an African lion can compete on equal grounds with. History has shown us that Bengal and Siberian tigers clearly dominate African lions. A large anaconda would kill a chimpanzee but I don't think the chimp would mess with a large one. They are to intelligent and would understand how dangerous that would be. When my kids were little I decided to take them to Costa Rica to see the white faced monkeys. II rented a bungalow on the beach at the entrance of a reservation with no guard. So here we are on a path in the forest , the kids looking up in the trees . When suddenly something catches my eyes 20 feet in front of us. A komodo dragon had just got out of the bushes to go to the sea. It wasn't a crocodile I had seen some before. This was IT. Thank God the kids never saw it and didn't make a sound. It didn't see us. I waited for it to get to the water and I grabbed the kids and ran so fast out of there. So scary!

Realistically 1 on 1 I don’t think any animal is going toe to toe with a hippo. Their size, bite force, and speed (on both land and water) mixed with their very aggressive nature makes a hippopotamus virtually un-killable in a fair 1v1 fight. Obviously we have known some prides of lions have preyed on hippos (almost always small calves) but regardless they have obviously been hunted before but a 1v1 fight hippos would beat every animal aside from MAYBE a full sized elephant
