Nice scooter. I have a 2013 with 16,000 miles on it. It's 11 years old and still an excellent Scooter. I've had it up to 74 mph. Weak point, I've had the clutch bearing replaced twice. Roughly every 5000 miles. I was told the bearing is made in china. No regrets buying this scooter.
I bought a 2015 White one to park next to my Harley Heritage Softail lol. Got $400 bonus bucks back. 54, 6-1, 190 & I was pleasantly surprised, I'm 55-60mph 90% of the time & average 84MPG, basically wide open. At 400 miles I took the crap tires off & put a pair of Michelin City Grips. Trust me, almost made up for the crappy rear shocks, HUGE difference in handling & ride comfort. Been riding since I was 7 y/o, you will love this scooter! If you buy one, work out a deal on a pair of Michelins, be best thing you can do.
+Samee C Only you can answer that, test ride one. I live in rural river valley area, alot of hills, speed limit is 55MPH. It does the trick. Around here you can find a nice used 2009 Yamaha TMAX for $4000 - 4500. But, I'd be getting 45-48MPG, not 84. Test ride one to be sure, but for commuting, I think you'll love the PCX 150.
Bought this same scooter last September, only put 240 miles on it so far due to the onset of winter here in the midwest, cant wait till the weather breaks and I can take her for a ride again. I would highly recommend the pcx150 as a your best choice if you want quality and dependability, you cant go wrong with Honda.
+cybervisionbritney You are absolutely right about Honda. If you look around on e-bay and craigslist, there are Honda scooters being sold still in good condition from the 80's.
WELL I WENT WRONG WITH IT. A MONTH AFTER II GOT IT IT WOULDNT START. SO TRYN TO CRANK IT SO MUCH I KEPT CHARGING BATTERIE TILL IT WAS JUST PLAN DEAD, SO I GOT A NEW ONE. SO IN THE WINTER YOUR SUPPOSE TO DRAIN GAS.OK THEN, I COULDNT GET 4 BOLTS OUT.FAULTY RATCHET. SO I GO BUY THE TOOLS, GOT 4 BOLTS OUT BUT THE SEAT WONT SLIDE UP TO GET TO THE GAS LINE. ANY ONE WITH ANY IDEAS.
I really like your video. No loud music and a thorough and simple explanation of the bike. I'm looking at the exact same bike with 8400k on it for $2000 Canadian.
I just ordered a 2018 in pearl white , it'll be mine in about 3 weeks ! Can't wait :) ............ Great video ! Thank You for posting this very thorough walk-thru 👍
Bought new in 2013. 22,000 miles and loved every single one of them. Smooth at 69mph tops. Still looks/runs like brand new; only tires replaced. With after market windshield and synthetic oil, averaging 107mpg overall. Very low ownership costs.
I have the 2013 model pcx 150, first bike,. great on gas/ comfortable/ reliable...but I do need a little more power, thinking of getting the Forza 300...but looks a bit bulky, love the pcx sporty look! wish they come out with a 250/ 300cc pcx! I'm sold...
I was tossing between the PCX 150 and the Forza 300. Everyone has to think about what the majority of their use is going to be. Sure I would love the extra power and speed from the 300 but my main riding is around town and putting it on a bumper hitch for camping. I also have a Goldwing in the garage and it have to scooter the PCX around it to make room. I can easily scoot the PCX around leaning it against my hip, etc..
great review, thanks.dont pull the switch from the side stand, if you start it and it run a little high, it will role a little and drop on the floor, greetings. and great bike.

Nice review. I would however advise against disconnecting the side stand engine cut out switch. It only takes a split second for someone either forgetful or unaware to tweak the throttle engine running and the scooter will take off. It might not be you. Could be a friend or anyone you have just shown it to. The center stand is easy enough to pop it on to open a gate or something.
I was quoted $3189 out the door for a 2016. No destination charges. I still think I can do better than that even. Gonna get one tho it sure looks like fun and Honda has the quality.
I really want to get a Honda PCX 150. And I really liked your video. It was a very comprehensive review of the 2016 model. You seem very knowledgable about scooters in general and I learned quite a bit from watching your review, thanks. Do you know if the newer 2017 model will come with idle stop technology?
Thanks for the comments. I just looked on the Honda website and it doesn't appear to include the idle stop. I really see no need for it. 100+mpg so saving a little bit of gas versus getting a new starter from so many start ups doesn't seem worth it.
Yeah, I was just checking to make sure I had read it correctly. It's a feature that's only in the Asian markets. And I agree I wouldn't mess around with my starter from some third party distributor. Thanks for taking the time to look everything up.
The 2016 model in the US has the key ignition. The one in the video is a 2016 model, I have the title and the VIN which is stamped with 2016, plus, you couldn't get this color except in the 2016 model.
+prohomevideos in Thailand this colour is 2014 model. New colours are iridescent dark red, iridescent bright blue and iridescent white. i have the blue. The smart key is also a great idea came out late 2015
Warming up an engine is never about carburetor versus fuel injection, it is about getting oil circulating to all parts of the engine before hard acceleration.
I still have it and still love it! Yes, you can go over 45 on the causeway, I guess that does depend on weight but under 200lbs, I wouldn't see a problem.
hey! would love to see that video where you disable that kickstand safety feature. i agree with you on that part not that cool of a feature . sometimes i need a kickstand just to open my gate to get in and i dont like it that i have to start the engine again just to open the gate for 5 secs.
+Two Wheeler Hi, I will be making that video you requested soon. By they way, do you have any idea why your message was posted like 9 times? I deleted the other 8 and just kept 1. Anyways, thanks for watching!
Не могли бы вы рассказать нам что-нибудь о Yamaha NMAX155? говорят у него жестче подвеска, но лучше управляемость. PCX кажется более надежным, более качественным. Я не могу решить, что выбрать.
Can you tell us something about the Yamaha NMAX150? they say it has a stiffer suspension, but better handling. PCX seems to be more reliable, better made. I can't decide what to choose.
i don't see the idling stop switch on the right handle bar, it's replaced by the engine kill switch, does that mean PCX in the US don't have the idling stop system?
+hellmekun That is correct. US models do not have the idling stop switch and not sure why. I'm pretty sure the fuel used while idling on a 100 mpg scooters is not noticeable.
Probably so but I bet they make a ton of money on start replacements throughout the years. Just think, the scooter is re-starting everytime you make a stop. To me, that would wear out the starter and/or battery and cost much more than a 7.5% savings. Plus, at 100 mpg, that's pennies.
+T. Willow It does only shut off with the side stand. But even though you can warm it up on the center stand, to me, it is just inconvenient at times. For me personally, there are several examples. When coming home, having to open a gate or garage door would require you to shut it off. When getting ready to leave and then you forget something, etc. you now have to shut it off and turn it back on again. Maybe not a big deal to some but to me it just is. What are your thoughts?
I have no direct experience but I'm constantly running in and out of my car to get stuff in the house so I can see that. I'm considering in the most abstract way of getting this as a commuter bike. I have a license but no experience driving a motorcycle. I love bicycle riding and greedily want to have that experience when peddling just isn't practical because of distance. But I'm weighing the dangers too. This just seems like a nice bike to enjoy the outdoors. Thank you for your review. I feel like I learned even more about it and it just looks better with each video I see.
+T. Willow I've been riding motorcycles for about 35 years and I just totally love them. I have a Goldwing for touring and this scooter for fun shorter trips although, I live near the beach along Florida's East Coast and I would have no problem driving this scooter hundreds of miles along the coast. I say the coast because the speed limit is usually 35-45 miles per hour and it's a beautiful ride. If you are considering getting a scooter, I would definitely consider this PCX. You can find cheaper ones but you will be fixing them after about a year of use. I bought a cheap scooter brand new and within one year I replaced the carb, drive belt, tires and some other stuff. The PCX is expensive but I think well worth it.
+prohomevideos Spent a week with an old Frat brother around 1981, he lived in Pinellas Park. We fished off Gandhi Bridge, went out on piers & fished all night, sold our catch for bait & beer next night. Florida was beautiful back then, not quite as commercialized as it is now, still, for a M/C enthusiast, it's heaven on earth to ride year round.
+prohomevideos I'm considering getting this scooter. How do you find the handling? And how do you find it now that you've had it for a little bit longer? I'm new to two wheelers. My wife and I went on vacation and we rented a scooter. It was my first time on such a thing and I've been researching scooters every day since. I'm leaning towards this bike though. I live in East Orlando. I noticed you said you live on the east Florida coast.
prohomevideos I just got my motorcycle endorsement, was so much fun learning how to ride. Question for you, I simply cannot decide between the PCX150 or the Honda CTX700DCT (670cc auto transmission). The CTX is about $3000 more expensive (2015 model NEW) and of coarse it is much faster, plus I weigh 320lbs. BUT for my riding, I will be 95% streets which in Arizona they are 40mph. I honestly don't want to go fast, not even 60mph on highway. What do you think I should do? Will the PCX150 get me to 45-50mph? I sat on both machines, they both feel great!
The PCX 150 will definitely go 45-50 and even more with 320 lbs. Although I am not that weight, very regularly I travel with my wife and we are above that weight and it goes 60mph. We also just trailered it to the Tennessee mountains and I was a little nervous that it would make it up the mountains with both of us and surprisingly, it did just fine. Maybe you could test ride one. Surely the 700cc would be no problem but as you mentioned, it is more expensive and you may not need that much extra power.
THANK YOU! Yeah what really got me was how much more $ you pay for having a motorcycle instead of a scooter. Geico quoted me $910 per year for the motorcycle, and $146 per year for the scooter!!!! I also love how there is a ton of storage on the PCX 150 already, only thing I would add is one of those top boxes in the rear for a helmet/groceries. Hahaha the other awesome thing is you can fit a broken down AR-15 under the seat! Us Arizonans travel armed! The other thing I freaked out about, is when the Geico rep told me that motorcycles are 5-10 times more likely to get stolen compared to scooters!
Yes, I like the price of the insurance. Technically, the PCX150 is registered as a motorcycle and the VIN plate mounted on it says "Motorcycle" as well but I won't argue the cheap insurance. I like the storage as well. I have also been able to carry light items between my knees. I'm all for travelling armed!!!
Even with full coverage (if i finance) it's only $411 year. I'm probably gonna just split up the price of the scooter on like 5 credit cards lol, and stick to basic insurance. 2nd Amendment FTW!!!
19tank81 Even aside from big cost difference in insurance, the scooter seems to have a good fun factor, being so light and manageable. The higher power is only needed for faster acceleration, so if you're not in a hurry and going just 40 mph, it seems better than going with the bigger cycle.
I would not take it on the highway as it will only go about 65mph on a good day and that's pushing it. You may be able to go faster with modifications but again, you'll be pushing it. This scooter is perfect for probably every where else except the highway.
I take mine for short jumps on the hwy, I would not do long hwy runs he is right I top out at 65 mph and it runs pretty steady at 60. I don't have any mods it's just stock I won't do any mods till I have repair something. It runs great alot of fun the way it is
As far a a license in concerned, you have to check your local laws. In Florida, you need a driver license and a motorcycle endorsement since it is over 49cc's. The gas tank holds 2 gallons and there is little to no maintenance required.
First time rider here, do have a few questions. I plan on getting a Scooter for local riding, no highway/freeway stuff. How does this Scooter feel overall, for a person who's 6'5? I'll test ride it before making a decision
Hi Glenn, I am surely not the person to judge if this scooter is good for taller people as you are a foot taller than me. I am pretty sure that I did see a review by someone that was tall and said it was fine. I would keep looking at reviews on youtube and you may find the one I saw.
I'm 5'7 and it fits me well . This may be too small of a bike for you . Just my opinion . 6'5 is pretty tall . Try a full size scooter , may be better for you . Who knows maybe it might work out for you . Give it a test ride , sit on it and see how it feels . May work who knows . This is a great scooter . Love mine .
As far as starting, it all depends on how much weight is on it. For example, just myself, I do not have to rev it much at all to get it going but with a passenger, just a little more. As far as slowing down, it does "go into neutral" just before stopping when the throttle is completely off.
When you turn the handlebars all the way to the left, that allows they key to turn further left than normal and then it locks the handlebars and also a small cover slides over the key hole, protecting it from water, (the thing that slides acts like a lens cover on a camera) In order to get the slide to retract, you must put the hexagon part of the back of the key, into that slot and turn right. It's kinda weird but it is what it is.
Regular 87 octane gas will work. It will barely hit 65 mph but conditions must be good. I wouldn't sustain 65 for real long periods of time if you want the maximum life out of your engine.
actually i live in india so here the common unit to measure mileage of a vehicle is km/liter so i just wanted to know what mileage it gives in km/liter but when i use unit converters available on internet it asks for which unit to convert miles per gallon(UK) or miles per gallon(US) to km/L (kilometer per liter) and i tried both, both of them gave different results so i am confused about the mileage can you please tell what it is in km/liter. sorry for my bad english !!
How cheap do you think I could get one for? I've seen a used 2013 with 70xx miles on it selling for $2000 but I think the person was trying to upsell on it. For a beginner, should I get a 2016 PCX or a used PCX?
You could get a decent one for $1800-$2000. As far as getting a 2016 or a used one? That is totally your preference. Since the 2017 models are out already, you could probably get a good deal on a 2016 still brand new. You will still pay around $3,000.
Oil changes are every 5,000 miles or 12 months, plugs are 5,000 miles and coolant change is 8,000 miles. If this is not a daily driver, you may take a very long until you have to do anything to it.
Washington its 150+ on highway although I took my 125cc grom on them during rush hour for 2 months with no issue. Just consider the safety of doing it. Just because you can doesn't mean it's safe.
It depends on which one fits your needs and/or desires. Everything will be obviously bigger with the 300. price $3500 versus $5,600(add $600 for ABS), more carrying space, heavier passengers and of course, faster. My decision was mostly on the weight (286 lbs versus 422 lbs) because I my PCX to the rear bumper of my motor home and weight is a huge issue. I also have a crowded garage and the pcx is easier to grab and move around due to weight as well. I like speed, but I really don't need it in my application as it is mostly for around town and on camping trips. Without those factors and some others, I would go with the Forza.
+David Jones I wish you could too but I tell you, there are a lot of great deals on craigslist just a couple of years older. I was about to buy one that was only three years old for half the price but someone scooped it up before I could get by and take a look at it.
+David Jones 2013 Burgundy one on Cincinnati Craigslist, 3900 miles on it, $1950. Bet the dude would take 1800. Tried selling my Harley, economy is bad, but if I did buy a 2008 Burgman 400 guy has only has 400 miles on it! Wants 3950 for it. 7g new.

I just bought this same exact 2016 today. It’s my first break into the motorcycle/scooter world. I absolutely love it. I have zero regrets.

Yes, totally up to each individual.
Some of the people on Craig's list want some enormous amounts for bikes that are almost 9-13 years old.

Honda omit the idling stop feature on the 2016 model. Too bad. It's a nice feature if your daily route long stop traffic lights.
+smartunnel From my research, that feature has never been on the US models.
+smartunnel This is not an option on US models.
+prohomevideos I see. It kinda dangerous if user not familiar with the feature.
I really want to buy this scooter...could anyone tell me when it is going to launch in India
hi I got a question
Where I can see the emergency light?
India which date launch ? and chennai
i don't see the idling stop switch on the right handle bar, it's replaced by the engine kill switch, does that mean PCX in the US don't have the idling stop system?
+hellmekun That is correct. US models do not have the idling stop switch and not sure why. I'm pretty sure the fuel used while idling on a 100 mpg scooters is not noticeable.
Probably so but I bet they make a ton of money on start replacements throughout the years. Just think, the scooter is re-starting everytime you make a stop. To me, that would wear out the starter and/or battery and cost much more than a 7.5% savings. Plus, at 100 mpg, that's pennies.
when it's coming to India??
How many km it can go on a full tank of petrol?
337 KM.
front tire bad in rain, i change to Michelin City Grip 100\90\14. Back change city grip 110\80\14.
Ahilles2004 did you change the tires yourself or how did you have them changed?
the mechanics gave
Thanks for the info! I hope I never find out. I pretty much avoid riding in the rain.
Can't you use the center stand to let it warm up? I thought it only shut off using the side stand.
Excellent review..
+Anirban Mukherjee Thank You!
Nice informative review. Thanks.
prohomevideos I just got my motorcycle endorsement, was so much fun learning how to ride.
19tank81
Even aside from big cost difference in insurance, the scooter seems to have a good fun factor, being so light and manageable. The higher power is only needed for faster acceleration, so if you're not in a hurry and going just 40 mph, it seems better than going with the bigger cycle.
you need to let it warm up even though it is fuel injected??
let it idle for about 10 sec and don't rev hard on road for at least couple minutes...scooter will last much longer
Expected date of launch in India?
November,2016
Great Review. Can it be taken on the highway, can you achieve 80mph?
I would not take it on the highway as it will only go about 65mph on a good day and that's pushing it. You may be able to go faster with modifications but again, you'll be pushing it. This scooter is perfect for probably every where else except the highway.
I take mine for short jumps on the hwy, I would not do long hwy runs he is right I top out at 65 mph and it runs pretty steady at 60. I don't have any mods it's just stock I won't do any mods till I have repair something. It runs great alot of fun the way it is
Can you start it up and let it idle while it's on the center stand?
Yes
Can i ride this without a licence? And how much to fill it up? general cost as well, thank you and awesome video :)
As far a a license in concerned, you have to check your local laws. In Florida, you need a driver license and a motorcycle endorsement since it is over 49cc's. The gas tank holds 2 gallons and there is little to no maintenance required.
From what I am aware, most places need a licence above 50cc's. Assuming that arkansas and florida are most places.
nice video bro !
aftab malvi thank you very much!
+prohomevideos Thanks for the reply, I'll have a look around on reviews & test ride it
I'm 5'7 and it fits me well . This may be too small of a bike for you . Just my opinion . 6'5 is pretty tall . Try a full size scooter , may be better for you . Who knows maybe it might work out for you . Give it a test ride , sit on it and see how it feels . May work who knows . This is a great scooter . Love mine .
Nice review - thank you!
Do you have to rev this high to get it going? What about slowing? Does it kick into neutral automatically when you start slowing down?
As far as starting, it all depends on how much weight is on it. For example, just myself, I do not have to rev it much at all to get it going but with a passenger, just a little more. As far as slowing down, it does "go into neutral" just before stopping when the throttle is completely off.
What is the hexagonal indent next to the ignition used for? The one that says "SHUT" but is separate from the seat button?
When you turn the handlebars all the way to the left, that allows they key to turn further left than normal and then it locks the handlebars and also a small cover slides over the key hole, protecting it from water, (the thing that slides acts like a lens cover on a camera) In order to get the slide to retract, you must put the hexagon part of the back of the key, into that slot and turn right. It's kinda weird but it is what it is.
Hmmm, interesting. Thanks for the reply.

V-Matic transmission: do you like?
Is high octane required?
65mph..can that be sustained?....Not powerful enough for interstate.
The transmission is automatic (twist and go) and I like it.
Regular 87 octane gas will work. It will barely hit 65 mph but conditions must be good. I wouldn't sustain 65 for real long periods of time if you want the maximum life out of your engine.
3:25-Will it start with seat up.?
Yes, it does not know if the seat is up or down.
Top box for the back?
I do not have one of those.
What type of gas you use on the PCX
Regular 87 Octane
Use non ethanol if you can
The footrest looks awfully insufficient .....did you face any problems with that ?!!
Are you talking about the rear passengers? If so, they swivel outward so that gives your passenger's feet more room.
104.8 miles per gallon uk or us whats the value in km per liter
Please clarify what you are asking.
actually i live in india so here the common unit to measure mileage of a vehicle is km/liter so i just wanted to know what mileage it gives in km/liter but when i use unit converters available on internet it asks for which unit to convert miles per gallon(UK) or miles per gallon(US) to km/L (kilometer per liter) and i tried both, both of them gave different results so i am confused about the mileage can you please tell what it is in km/liter.
sorry for my bad english !!
At 100 mpg (US), translated to 42 KM/L.
prohomevideos Thankyou !!!
when this honda pcx come to sri lanka.
I am a private buyer so I have no idea.
how come yours doesn't has the idle start??
Ray Low That option is not available in the USA.
Is this have remote system
no remote
Good review
Do you think I could purchase a PCX for $1000 or around there used?
Andy Huang I doubt it, they at too high quality for that price. Sadly you would have to resort to lower quality scooter.
Alright, thanks for the info.
You are welcome.
Nice review! Thanks.
Thank you and you are very welcome!
What is the maintenance schedule?
Oil changes are every 5,000 miles or 12 months, plugs are 5,000 miles and coolant change is 8,000 miles. If this is not a daily driver, you may take a very long until you have to do anything to it.
can it be used for touring
This scooter will do almost anything except over 65 mph. I love it!
Is this highway legal?
You would have to check with your local laws but in Florida, it is street legal anywhere.
Thanks!
Washington its 150+ on highway although I took my 125cc grom on them during rush hour for 2 months with no issue. Just consider the safety of doing it. Just because you can doesn't mean it's safe.
Husband just bought a 498cc trike. Yamaha Tmax with a trike kit. That should be fun to ride on, highway wise. Plus, very stable.
Thanks!
Does this have an alternator?
Yes
+prohomevideos is the scooter is best for teenagers
Very good for teenagers but check your local laws. Some locations may require a motorcycle endorsement.
I don't have to think about that
What is the top speed of this scooter
I am from Florida too, I need one of this one I have 150cc from China the Tao Tao and I hate it
is it highway legal
Yes, it is registered as a motorcycle.
You shouldve done a test drive too
I would have but there are already so many on TH-cam.
I m waiting for pcx
Should I get this or the Honda forza 300?
Hey does it have kick start?
Dj Thakral No it doesn't.
I WANT ONE!!!!!!!!! HAHAHAHAHAHA THATS FUCKING AWESOME YOUR VIDEO JUST SOLD ME!!

+prohomevideos sorry, I discovered that in the USA the smart key wasn't released at that time. The model in the video was released in Asia in 2013
THEY DONT HAVE KICK STARTERS
wish i could afford this...
7g new.
