I can't wait to try this with yellow. I have started a painting of a yellow tree in front of a red rock canyon cliff and I'm so curious as to how I can make it sing, the way that I experienced it while I was there this fall in Canyon De Chelley, Arizona. Thank you so much, you are such an inspiration to me, your gentle expression of knowledge feeds my soul.
I have loved your tutelage for years and I am not sure I have ever acknowledge the gift your TH-cam videos are to me or how much I appreciate the gift you are giving to the artists that are learning through these free gifts of yours, Thank you, my heart and soul Thank you.
Thanks so much! Keep enjoying the journey!
Thanks Dianne!! Always good to hear this again!
You are very welcome!
great lesson thankyou
great quick tip as usual you have cleared up for me a valuable tool thanks Diane your awesome
🎉
Thanks! Have fun with this one.
Hi, Dianne. Could you please tell me - if you happen to remember in which Quick Tip you demonstrated how to mix two piles of color -- one into the other? I remember that you put down on the palette a batch of one color and then actually inserted the second color right into the middle of the first. This would be really helpful when painting with large amounts of paint. 😔
I was really glad you pointed out that many of your students have difficulty in matching values. I, too, after all these years of value correcting, do not always value correct correctly. I was even once thinking of requesting, if possible, a quick tip on tips to identify values without constantly whipping out the value scale. Loads of thanks, Carol. 😊
❤Excellent demonstration. Thanks for taking the mystery out of colour relationships and how to experiment.😊
Have fun with it.
This a good excercise for like if one buys a appealing color and their like "I bought this color I like this color and I'm gonna use it". Also this might be a good excercise to do under a UV light to see saturation levels unless the pigment augments or reflects UV oddly.
It's easy to train your eye to see the degrees of saturation.
Thank you so much!! 🙏❤
You are so welcome
Nice, informative lesson, Dianne--thank you. I believe you aren't big on color charts, but I wonder if doing a chart like this, at least for the 3 primary colors, would be helpful toward internalizing value as well as seeing for ourselves these effects of what color does to color...
Terry, I do think color charts that help give clarity are a good idea.
Oh yeah, Thank you very much.
You're welcome!
I'm in the middle of my first painting without using black, of a blackbird 😅
Have fun with it.
I hope you can discern the second paragraph ("read more.') Thanks once again.
Will do.
Thank you for another thorough explanation!
My pleasure!
