Hello everyone! NoahNovels here, and today's video is the sixth in my series dedicated to analyzing/discussing each episode of the Revue Starlight anime. Revue Starlight means the world to me (especially this episode), and I hope you all enjoy hearing my thoughts on this masterpiece of a series that I love so much throughout these videos! And if you haven't seen the Revue Starlight anime yet, please do yourself a favor and go watch it! It's a beautiful, amazing series that you won't regret watching. And I'll also be discussing spoilers for it throughout these videos sometimes so I would definitely recommend seeing the show first before watching these videos. When I eventually have my spoiler-free review/analysis video of the series up, I will update this description with a link to it if you're still on the fence about giving the series a shot! But for now...

Revue Starlight is a multi-media franchise started in 2017 by Bushiroad. The anime which aired from July-September 2018 was produced by Bushiroad, Tokyo Broadcasting System Television, Pony Canyon, Overlap, Nelke Planning and Kinema Citrus. The series was licensed in English by Sentai Filmworks- who also licensed the sequel movie "Revue Starlight: The Movie." The Revue Starlight gacha game (Revue Starlight Re LIVE) which is developed by Ateam and Bushiroad was released in October 2018 for Android and iOS. A Revue Starlight visual novel (announced in January 2023) is currently in development by Frontwing with a planned release date in Japan for August 2024.
Near the end of the video I was composing a random comment just to show footage of, I never got past showing the second sentence, and in reality I didn't need to actually complete the comment, but I did end up doing it just in case so here it is:
I'm just writing a random comment here for the B-roll, so don't mind me as I'm just typing random words here to appear as if I'm making a comment for this section of the video, but since you're here anyway, one part of this episode that I think really exemplifies the strengths of Starlight as a whole is musical cohesion. So, remember that point about the music having these different themes in them? Like it goes from one genre to the other? Well, you could also say that's a reflection of Kaoruko and Futaba as a whole, polar opposites of each other that for whatever reason have come up to the relationship they have now. They shouldn't feel like they go together, and as the episode unfolds it is like that, but as you can see by the end, they cherish each other in ways that do make sense with how they are. Futaba seeing this side of Kaoruko and wanting to stand side by side and Kaoruko wanting to put in that effort to actually earn that admiration and the 2 sides of their revue song is like that. A mix mash of different theming and melodies that separately might be a bit strange, but put together is really good. And also that's exactly why their song in the sequel movie is so vast, having so many different genres that when put together actually make a cohesive whole, just like the two of them
The fact that you made a genuinely well-written and thoughtful mini-essay on Kaoruko/Futaba's relationship just for B-roll is amazing.

True! gorgeous analysis. every time watching these diligent stage girls lits up my passion. And the extensive genre and their combination in the songs is also the prominent feature of Revue starlight. 🙏🏻Indeed startling and glamorous. I'm intoxicated to the whole series and it affects a lot to my life🥹
Oh yeah I can't believe I forgot to mention this in the video, but the setting/backdrop for most of the Revue of Promise looks like the Senka-ryu school from the beginning of the episode which is a neat detail hehe
This is an episode where Karen and Hikari are minor characters yes, however KaoFuta is a couple that mirrors KarenHikari, so this episode remains attached to the entire Starlight story by still telling the story of “Flora and Clair”, despite not focusing on the protagonist. Kaoruko being the goddess of escape mirrors Hikari, supposedly forgetting a childhood promise (Clair). Futaba being the goddess of confinement, mirrors how Karen was cursed to forever chase a childhood promise and childhood friend, giving up all else (Flora). (This also shows in how Karen was having a meltdown facing Kaoruko’s depart, although portrait in a funny way it’s likely authentic sadness. This is the reaction Kaoruko was expecting Futaba to make, and is subtlety shows the similarity between Karen and Futaba). This probably isn’t THAT big of a deal, but I just find it a really smart method to tell both KaoFuta’s and Starlight story

Calling it now- Kaoruko challenges them to a Revue battle as revenge for not casting her in Starlight. That's...definitely gonna happen, yeah. That's not a stupid idea at all.....
