POV: Halloween night, you’re in your house. You’ve been handing out candy all night to kids and dealt with pranks all night. Relaxed in your humble home, you call it a night. This time it’s different… You hear loud knocking on the back door. You say “HEY! Trick or treats over!” The knocking happens again…you’re fed up with it. You get up out of your sofa and you swing the door open…but no one’s there… The Silence is underwhelming. Then a knock on the front door echoes through the house, this one more violent. Your heart races with more rage, fed up with this. Without a thought you swing the door closed and check the front door. You open it. Hastily approaching front porch. Checking the bushes and sidewalks, but no one is there… The Cold breeze and the Fallen leaves raking the cold stone beneath your feet. The noise is overwhelming. In confusion you go back inside the house. Closing the door behind you. And you lock it. But wait…the thought of you locking your front door…your heart faints. You just realized you forgot to do the same with the back door. As you walk to the back door, you feel a cold draft of wind breeze in. Then you see it…the door wide open…with muddy footprints trailing upstairs to your left. you say to yourself. “there’s someone in my house…”
