I was a teenager in the 90's and it was awesome! You spent time with your friends, in person, coming up with all sorts of things to have fun. When you left the house parents had to hope that you told the truth about where and what you were doing. We played outside and went on bike rides, went to the lake to be outside having fun with your friends. We didn't have to take our picture every two minutes. Parties were fun.. The government wasn't as divided so no one talked about politics. School was the safest place to be, we did fire drills, there was no such thing as a school shooter. No inflation or terrorism. Middle income people had a good life. Scientists were running around with hair on fire warning about climate change. Yet we didn't have extreme weather so no one took it seriously. Kids today have to grow up fast. There is so much danger in multiple ways that scar children today. Technology was simple, which was a good thing. I wish children today could have the same carefree childhood. Yet it's time to permanently retire boomers. They've caused so much damage. Young people need to step up.

I was born in 82 so my childhood memories are the late 80s early 90s but my teen years were mid to late 90s. I miss wearing my starter jackets, cross color clothing, jnco jeans, overalls with BOTH straps down with a hip hop bugs bunny and Taz shirt on! I remember calling my mom collect to pick me and my friends up from the mall...You have a collect call from...mom come pick us up! Also, can't forget about keg parties in the woods!

More that than that though, if nobody done told you, or if you people out there reading this don't know, this motherf***er putting in some work on these reaction videos now, this and no "shoot and upload" operation you runnin' here. I do some video production with drone footage I shoot for a side hustle, and I'm all too familiar with how long it takes just to put a simple graphic and some text in a 10 second clip of a video, you got em throughout your whole videos, and they on point to boot, they're always relevant and funny or informative, that ain't no easy task my man. It's amazing how much pop culture you miss because of that (and we didn't have the internet like we do now). And then I was working and going to school after the military so... I still get all the references. I had two step kids in the second half of the decade, so lived through a lot of that with them. Although, I was (am) a HUGE Power Rangers nerd and even saw the OG movie on opening night in theaters. haha

I loved everything about growing up in the 80s. It was so much fun. The last decade of real innocent freedom before things in the world started changing. The music defined a generation when music was simply fun. No gangsta rap. Danceable music. No one cared who was sleeping with who or if they were gay as long as they made music we could dance to with a great beat. It was perfect time to be alive. The 70s was great I was a child so my perspectives are from a child’s view. But there was still a clear line between people and music. In the 80s everyone came together regardless of race or religion or sexuality. We just had fun. The 80s was a bubble in time in between chaos.
Oh nah I was listening to as much variety as possible. The 80s just wasn’t my fav and the style wasn’t it for me outisde of what dmc represented. Drugs while heavy in evry decade was nothing like the 80s. Crack changed eveything that not even coke or heroin did to society at least not at that scale. We still feeling the effects from the 80s. I have my 80s jams for sure it just not as populated with greatness as the others imo

Well I'm a little older than you, and turned 21 in the early 90s, so I was doing a few other things, but I still can totally appreciate this video.

It's amazing how much pop culture you miss because of that (and we didn't have the internet like we do now). And then I was working and going to school after the military so... Aye the 80s were cool but with the drugs, the clothes, some of them hairdos and let’s be real it was hard finding good music in the 80s. Not saying there wasn’t any it just wasn’t as vast as the decade before or what came after imo. I respect the 80s I just cant give it to em. I loved everything about growing up in the 80s. It was so much fun. The last decade of real innocent freedom before things in the world started changing. The music defined a generation when music was simply fun. No gangsta rap. Danceable music. No one cared who was sleeping with who or if they were gay as long as they made music we could dance to with a great beat. It was perfect time to be alive. The 70s was great I was a child so my perspectives are from a child’s view. But there was still a clear line between people and music. In the 80s everyone came together regardless of race or religion or sexuality. We just had fun. The 80s was a bubble in time in between chaos.
Oh nah I was listening to as much variety as possible. The 80s just wasn’t my fav and the style wasn’t it for me outisde of what dmc represented. Drugs while heavy in evry decade was nothing like the 80s. Crack changed eveything that not even coke or heroin did to society at least not at that scale. We still feeling the effects from the 80s. I have my 80s jams for sure it just not as populated with greatness as the others imo

I hate the rap that hip hop and so called gangsta rap gets because it’s just not accurate to me but I can say the 90s and 80s were pretty similar in all you described. Yeah the gays have always been targeted but I feel in the 80s n 90s with aids and stuff they were a subject of a lot of convos also. Great time yes but I think as time goes on we forget about some of the shit we still went through during that time. While great just not as rosey as we make it out to be. However I can respect your pov because you lived it not me and I respect that.
