All new vans now have compression fridges there well better I would recommend a solar panel 80 to 100 watt is enough for fridge and living room. This van is great

mate, this is amazing! the attention to detail you have put into this is unbelievable. There are alotttt of camper build videos on youtube but yours is definitely up there with the best. Truly impressed with how you design and build these. If anyone is looking for someone to convert a van, in my eyes there's no one I have seen who does it better. Well done mate - you're gonna be a very busy man. The only thing I would say is it would be great if you have more detailed instructions on how you do things.

Very nice build, I was as always thinking there was lacking room for a porta-potty, but you include that. something I feel very few make room for in those micro-campers.

Why aren't all pop-top roofs like this - instead of the usual claustrophobic sloping versions? Even better were the old Autosleeper solid sided elevating roofs.....be great if you could incorporate that style - but I guess they've not been available for a long time.

@@dantheman321 problems with many, more like it. I work Saturdays as a postman for Royal Mail. The Doblo’s gears are diabolical. They’re the running joke among all posties.

What a perfect build. I LOVE the roof lifter. Being able to stand up inside is such a big and needed luxery. My questions are about this. I see the video is a year old. Is the roof wind and water proof when you create it this way? No air getting in while driving with a closed roof. Or rain while driving with a closed roof? Are you not cutting trough beams (strength) of the car when creating the hole? Did you make the roof cover yourself or is it some kind of standard one can buy somewhere? Thank you for the video. I just bought a fiat doblo maxi cargo yesterday. Never intended to make a mini camper out of it but after your video I am getting exited :)
Nice video, nice van. Can you sit on the bench seat with the roof down and can you cook with the roof down? We have a VW California and have had to drop the roof in stormy weather. Why is the raising roof so slow to open, maybe make it manual instead. And the top kitchen storage would be better as drawers. I think you would get fed up constantly getting on your knees to look inside.

Space is at a premium on such a small vehicle yet few have swivelling front seats. In my view it's a major omission on a vehicle this size.
Unfortunately swivel bases can't be fitted to this vehicle due to the cab being lower than the conversion height. Hopefully a company will make them for this kind of vehicle so that the front cab seats can be incorporated into the lounge area 👍 many thanks for watching.
This is epic . Guys coming from a berljngo 2003. Thinking of moving to a 2012 Doblo. Are Doblos good in terms of comparing with Citreon? I have no clue x thanks!

A beautifully created camper but how does it fare under DVLA regulations which apparently no longer allow extending roof conversions and require an extendable sun blind on one side? There is obviously a way around this as a number of manufacturers are still using this format but the regulations and what is currently being placed on the road seem at variance.
Sending a camper to a vosa test station, they don't use the same rules as those set out by dvla just to simply change a log book. They test mainly protruding objects outside the vehicle and seat belts etc hope this helps 👍 and many thanks for watching
Beautiful conversion. Can I ask a couple of questions please. Is the van a Doblo LWB? Also when the bed is down can a porta potty go at the side.of the fridge - I assume fron passenger seat could.pull forward a bit but would the loo be accessible to use whilst the beds down in that sort of scenario? Also other thing was - where.did you get the roof kit from? Wondering the costs involved with that also? Would you put the roof down whilst sleeping or leave open? Does it matter? Thank you.
Hi yes the van is a LWB, yes the loo can fit at the end of the kitchen when the bed is out and also the passenger seat could pull forward to give you more room. The roof is something I designed and made myself for this project. It can stay up and come down whilst sleeping obviously depending on weather conditions as with an lift up roof.

Following divorce Ive been living my car since October as waiting for the family house to sell to get my share. Its not likely to be quick so Ive been looking at most cost effective option with low running costs, your videos are really fantastic keep them going👍. How much for the plans ?

How long is the bed and what height is the ceiling when raised? Also can the roof be raised manually?
Hi the bed is 6 ft 6 inches and the ceiling when lifted is 6 ft 5 inches. The roof has a remote and also an override switch on the controllers. Many thanks for watching 👍👍

Do Kangoo owners search for VW Caddy builds to see what they are doing? I'm a Caddy owner. Lol
I wanted one of these badly enough that I bought one new. Unfortunately the only one available to me is an American version. The driveline was garbage. The transmission can never pick a gear. It shifts constantly and harshly. I got a class action lawsuit settlement letter from the manufacturer with a $4500 coupon towards another purchase. The engine lost another lawsuit for excess oil consumption. If it were available in the U.S. with the engine and transmission you have, I would buy another one. I traded mine in after 2 years.
