      Best interview for me. It was good to hear that I can go at this cautiously taking calculated conservative risks one small gain at a time. .05 % daily gain average amounts to doubling capital in one year. Nothing to scoff at. I'm one if I could trade never looking at the price moving but the indicators I use for entries and exits, I'd do that. There's something about the lure of the gains and losses in the price. The hardest thing for me is to exit when I'm losing, and worse when that loss passes a tolerance threshold in which I am not willing to exit, hoping for a turn around, when the price has effectively worked its way into an alternate entry in the other direction. I've been paper trading with Tradingview now for 6 months, soon to to trade for real.
      Gilles in Canada. No other traders here to learn from. Thanks for the instruction.

    This interview was golden! Filled with career-altering wisdom such as the following:
    * It’s better to follow an IMPERFECT plan PERFECTLY than to just trade RANDOMLY
    * Put things into perspective. What is this loss in comparison to the gains you will eventually make?
    * You have to accept that this is a game of probabilities and you can lose for any number of random reasons. The only thing you can control is risk.

    55:00 - 56:50 The concept of R and how understanding your stats will determine if you will make money consistently, and how focusing on on R rather than profits will let you know how you are executing. I did this today I was shocked how many failed starter or reattacking the pattern had a significant effect on my profitability. Changes made already.

Thanks for touching on that and explaining how to truly grow an account from the bottom up

The key takeaways for me in this interview are: Build on consistency and if you can master one thing you can master many. Being willing to change your mind and have that open mindedness to keep growing. And being more specific on his trades..

    Question: Can R be also adjusted based on the average extension of move higher or lower on a typical stock? For example, a stock that tend to move a bit slower intraday would have a R naturally adjusted to “2:1” because the extension of the moves aren’t as continuous vs a highly volatile stock could be adjusted to “4:1 or 6:1” because the extensions on that stock, on average, are more continuous. In addition, still regarding equities- can R also be adjusted on a certain time of day? So say from the market open can the bias of R be adjusted to a higher risk to reward ratio vs later on in the day where things tend to slow down? Thank you

    1. Your biggest loss till date is probably not even gonna put a dent in the amount of PnL you are going to generate if you stick around.
    2. Thers time to be offensive and theres time to be defensive, this is the time to be defensive. Be selective, size down, consolidating PnL curve is better than one that is going down.
    3. Bear markets dont last forever. When the time is right, you will have skills and market which will give 100 times more.
    4. Multiple setups is more of a luxury tgan necessity. Majority of my wealth was created by trading 2 setups.
    5. @01:03:30 You fall to the level of your standards

    I truly laugh at any trader who says they have been so close to losing their accoutn so many times. I've never known a good trader to even get close to losing their account, ever. All that taking that much risk shows is that you have no idea how to manage a trade, assume risk or treat trading like the professionals actually treat it: not as a get rich quick scheme. If you follow this guys advice I feel sorry for you.
    Also the idea that this guy thinks that momentum (volume based?!) and mean reversion (presumably pullback) are the only two types of trading is actually a joke. Momentum and mean reversion is just another way of saying: my trading technique is to screen for big movers and YOLO money into them. Im actually lauging out loud right now at the idea of "mean reversion" being a strat, I'd love to know the rules (if there are any)

    • @BrianLeeTrades
      @BrianLeeTrades 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I'm confused. Risking 1% of your account on a trade is pretty much one of the safest position sizing principles possible, see Van Tharp. I think you might have overlooked that one, it is not risky. Portfolio managers put on up to 10% positions per trade, risking 1% on a daytrade is a conscious practice that is pitted against the concept of risk of ruin. Knowing you can lose over 100 times in a row in a single day is risk management 101. Compounded down you will have nearly infinite attempts at gaining experience in the market.
      I never said I am close to losing my account many times, I blew my account up in 2018 and have never looked back after being a strict advocate of risk management. In downturn of 2022, I pulled down 12% on my all time NET pnl but many blew their entire account up and quit the game.
      You pointed out the actual point of reducing the large majority of trades into mean reversion or momentum by mentioning "big moves". I look for the big picture, as should you, superperformers are not scalping. If you look at what you're trading, there is a high likelihood that it will fall into one of those two categories for higher time frame traders (it captures your edge within in). I didn't say that is all there is, but it is a vast majority of them. Check Chat with Traders episode by Ken Hoang, I am not the first person to claim it.
      Mean reversion is literally the go-to smallcap strategy for short sellers. You're on a page for a prolific short seller, being Nate. If you have no idea about it I feel like you are being facetious.
      I've mentored traders to multi-millionaire status, the proof is in the pudding.

    • @AB-zv6dz
      @AB-zv6dz 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@BrianLeeTrades I can't find you offering a traderoom, course or mentorship anywhere. I follow one individual who caught my interest who claimed to be a short seller of small cap stocks (not the way I trade) and it turned out he short sold small caps about 10% of the time, as finding those trades is hard, the rest of the time he just traded price action.
      I would love to see this, so to speak, pudding, where can I go?
