I love this song. Sang it at our church’s missions conference several years ago too. Very convicting. I’m glad you posted it and I’m glad I stumbled upon this just now. Reminds of my calling.
He stood before the crowd that day To tell of what he'd seen The smoke of a thousand villages where The gospel had not been Is there someone here Who's willing now To leave and go abroad Then one man went From the crowd that day To reach a continent for God He made a difference in A land acrossed the sea He made a difference in A place of bended knee A thousand villages where He brought hope form despair He made a difference in this world He stood before the church that day To tell of what he'd seen The smoke of a thousand cities where The gospel has not been Is there someone here Who's willing now To listen to God's call Will you be that one To lead the way And reach America for God Go make a difference in This land we're living in A nation filled with souls Lost and in their sin A thousand cities in view That are waiting for you Go make a difference in this world I'll make a difference in This world I'm living in Lord, I'm willing to go Where the gospel has not been On the horizon I see People calling to me I'll make a difference in this world On the horizon I see People calling to me I'll make a difference in this world -Tricia Crabtree
As I stood here, during the singing of the hymn, I asked myself, "What message have I to bring to these good people of Millsburg?" And I was reminded of an incident. A young man came to me recently, and said he, "Dr. Breen... what is the meaning of it all?" And I said to him, "Young man... I'm glad you asked!"In our furious race these days to conquer outer space, are we not, perhaps, neglecting inner space? Shall we hope to find the secret of the universe by hurtling through it? Shall we find the true meaning of life by fleeing from it? What has become of the old-fashioned ways... the simple pleasures of the past? Who can forget, for example, the old-fashioned band concert at twilight on the village green? The joy and serenity of just sitting and listening? This is lost to us today, and this we should strive to recapture. A simple, innocent pleasure. And so I say to you dear friends: Relax, slow down, take it easy. What's your hurry? What, indeed, friends,is your hurry?
Sir, I must say, it does seem that you might be on the wrong page...Jesus already answered your question over 2,000 years ago. Souls are dying...Jesus came to save! And He is calling out people to tell others of His GREAT love & gift of salvation! Matthew 18:11 For the Son of man is come to save that which was lost...Matthew 4:19 And he saith unto them, Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men...Matthew 28:19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: 20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.:..Matthew 25:34 Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world: 35 For I was an hungred, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in: 36 Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me. 37 Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, and fed thee? or thirsty, and gave thee drink? 38 When saw we thee a stranger, and took thee in? or naked, and clothed thee? 39 Or when saw we thee sick, or in prison, and came unto thee? 40 And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.

He stood before the crowd that day
To tell of what he'd seen
The smoke of a thousand villages where
The gospel had not been
Is there someone here
Who's willing now
To leave and go abroad
Then one man went
From the crowd that day
To reach a continent for God
He made a difference in
A land acrossed the sea
He made a difference in
A place of bended knee
A thousand villages where
He brought hope form despair
He made a difference in this world
He stood before the church that day
To tell of what he'd seen
The smoke of a thousand cities where
The gospel has not been
Is there someone here
Who's willing now
To listen to God's call
Will you be that one
To lead the way
And reach America for God
Go make a difference in
This land we're living in
A nation filled with souls
Lost and in their sin
A thousand cities in view
That are waiting for you
Go make a difference in this world
I'll make a difference in
This world I'm living in
Lord, I'm willing to go
Where the gospel has not been
On the horizon I see
People calling to me
I'll make a difference in
this world
On the horizon I see
People calling to me
I'll make a difference in
this world
