Hi, I just came back to say thanks! I just landed my first backroll handdrag with a loop and I'm totally stoked. Spent last 5 days in greatstone and today I finally figured it out and sending almost one after another. Most fun I've had in 8 years of kitesurfing. Once again thanks for amazing tutorials. I think I've seen them all like 5 times :)

so basically: if you have the backroll transition with kiteloop and grab in your trickbag, just change a few things: don't pop like you do with a backroll, just let you fall backwards and glide throught the backroll with the front hand off the bar and sliding throught the water. When you see the new direction you want to go, just do the kiteloop. done. trick for this season.

These tutorials are so clear and precise! Thank you so Much. What size kite are you using here? T

Thanks very much. I can't remember the kite size, but probably a 10m2 or 12m2. Slides are easier with a big kite though. A 15m2 is very nice for learning all the slides (hand drags, darkslides, jesus walks etc).

Why go for the transition when learning? is it easier than doing a full backroll hand drag and landing the same way you are riding? or is it just cooler?

This trick is so cool but it really needs a name other than "backroll, hand drag transition with a down loop". Doesn't really roll off the tongue, does it? Snowboarders would have given this move a cool name already....this trick is worthy of a cool name! Any suggestions??

with the hand drag... mmm... can you also take a fishing line and catch fish? is that the point of the hand drug?

Great tutorial but for me looped version is not explained well. My point is that you rotate too much at the begining of hand drag. You should do max half of backroll rotation and let the loop makes the other half. When i was doing it like you've shown i have always landen on my back with too much rotation. Aloha :D
