Honestly, what's cool about Wolfenstein 2009 is that it's basically the devs making the most obvious hey this and Doom are in the same universe connection ever. As most of the sci-fi guns in this game look and act like Earth prototype versions of a lot of the alien guns, BJ Blazkowicz the III (Doom Slayer/Doom Guy. William being his great grandfather. the grandfather being Aurther Kenneth Blazkowicz Blaze and his father being William Joseph Blaze Blazkowicz II who preferred to be called Billy Blaze and became Commander Keen.) picks up in the Doom games. Not to mention, the dark dimension is clearly the one from the Quake series, which Doom Slayer was in, and is why he was imprisoned in Doom 2016 as he was seen as a threat due to surviving every challenge and because the people of the planet feared him in Quake Champions they decided to capture and freeze him in suspended animation forever, but we all know he eventually got freed unintentionally and the reason He barely speaks in the newer Doom games is because he's not entirely over the trauma of the Quake series. Like imagine you were chilling one day, and then demons take your pet rabbit away, so you go get revenge; only for a few years later, those same demons whom you chose to try and be merciful towards come back, so you have to take care of them again only for them to show up a few months later. So you get tired and decide to trap yourself in their dimension, taking only your family's guns and the weapons you picked up in your last adventures, the suit you acquired from the first adventure, and your long-gone pet rabbit's foot. Then, when you finally escape that planet that the demon aliens are on and get back to Earth only to have to slap your insane superior officer who wants to make a deal with the demons (who is the human on the demon's side in Doom Eternal, by the way) and be exiled from Earth for being right, and then when your all already sad and exiled from home you end up being captured and enslaved into a coliseum-like tournament for entertainment purposes, only to be robbed of your reward of freedom and instead be imprisoned forever until an unforeseen accident sets you free. All in all, the paranormal stuff in Wolfenstein 2009 actually fits with this big universe that the game is in. Which adds to its charm and makes me like it even more.

such a good edited video for just 184 views bro you deserve much more and im also interested in people looking back at this game since i know its forgotten and many people dont know its one of the best games of 2009, and the story is purely gold. i played it first when i was 4 years old, i was born a few months before the game got released and thankfully a family member cracked it for me then and i cracked it some years and some motnhs ago, everytime i play it its just gold, a very good game bro, ima sub and like bro good video

I'm pretty sure it's currently in dispute between a few people for the rights of it, so currently the only way to play it is to find a physical copy or torrent it, which is probably why it's so obscure Awesome review or a definite classic!

Just look at the Veil Assassin straight from Replica Assassin can't go wrong with it. Not just that Heavy Trooper is Heavy Armor, Despoiled is Remnant and Sniffer is Abomination.
The older games didn’t age well and the newer ones have cringe writing and low replayability, I firmly believe this is the best wolfenstien game and the most overlooked/underrated.
I wish they would incorporate more of the elements from this game in the future, but the direction for the series now ain't gonna be going back to this style any time soon! Haha
@@THHDReviews a remaster would go crazy, only things I’d want changed are maybe some boss mechanics and a small change of the visuals while in the veil, also many people say the game is too easy but they could use those devices that stop you from using your powers to mitigate that and possibly limit your power weapons.
@@THHDReviews Yeah especially since you are buying weapons off the black market instead of solely scrounging them from the enemy. The fact you were scrounging German military weapons was what made the lack of Shotguns make sense in the earlier Wolfenstein games. But since Shotguns are common civilian weapons once you start getting weapons from the black market not having the option to getting a Shotgun a lot less sense. Its been almost two decades since I did any serious research on World War II Resistance movements. (I once did a paper for school comparing and contrasting the resistance movements in the Axis homelands to those in Axis occupied territories though I no longer have access to the paper unfortunately) However I would be shocked if Shotguns weren't common weapons among armed Resistance groups in Germany because they were probably much easier to obtain and justify having if questioned.

@@THHDReviews I grew up in Rural and small town USA so I'm used to most people having a Shotgun, Hunting Rifle, or both (And often more) But yeah they would be easy for Resistance members to get so there's no logical reason BJ shouldn't be able to obtain one in Wolfenstein 2009 IMO

I remember being interested in it so pre-ordered from JB Hi FI only for it take them like a week to mail it out after release date. I think a lot of people were interested in the MP but it was essentially DOA
This game seems to have been everywhere recently (Civvie effect I guess) so I downloaded it. It’s really good! Surprised it gets so much hate. RTCW is a tough act to follow but this isn’t bad at all

I love this game's Telsa gun. It's basically an energy Shotgun, and the closes thing Wolfenstein series had to a Shotgun at this point.
Fair point, even just a random shotgun you find at the farm would make sense!
At least there's a decent weapon list to make up for it!
