Your belt seems too loose to my eyes. I have a similar engine (M35BC), and the belt doesn't wobble nearly as much. But as you mentioned, in 28 years there has been no issues so the this tension level appears to work for you.
It has always looked too loose to me, too. I have some experience with other engines and they are typically tighter. I may tighten it up a bit more when I change the oil this fall.
