A good Bout between two Novice Boxers. Good stoppage by the Referee as the young Soldier in the Red Corner was hurting the young Soldier in the Blue Corner who was unable to effectively defend himself. Boxing is a very dangerous Sport and protecting the Safety and Health of the Fighters must always be paramount. Actually I would have awarded the First Rd by a narrow margin to the Blue Corner. They both had good stance, threw punches at speed and in combinations, were able to block and parry and move in and out of range. Defending against a Southpaw is always difficult until further experience is gained. They must have a strong friendship if they can hurt each other slugging it out in the ring and still remain friends after the Bout. Both will learn from this experience and improve their skills. If they continue Boxing let us hope they will remain free from Injury and long term damage. Both young men are to be commended for their Skill, Tactical Approach, Courage and Toughness. We should thank both of them for putting themselves at risk and subjecting themselves to discomfort for the entertainment of the spectators.
Boxing is a very dangerous sport? More dangerous than Rugby Football? Wow! I never knew that! Would it be fair and accurate, then, to say that the 240 Volts AC domestic electricity supply which heats and lights our homes and places of work is also "very dangerous"?
@@KempSimon I think the 240 Volt AC is generally safe if appliances and equipment are in good condition and used properly. I think it is reasonable to say that Boxing ( and other Combat Sports ) are very dangerous because ( unlike other Sports like Rugby ) the Participants are attempting to temporarily disable each other with repeated hard blows to Head and Body. Much .medical Research has shown that Blows to the Head carry a risk of both catastrophic acute injury and more gradual long term accumulated damage. So Harm Minimisation needs to be the guiding principle if a Boxer appears to be outclassed and especially if he is receiving a large number of blows to the head. In those circumstances the Referee should stop the fight. The Rules for the Safety of Amateur Boxers are more strict and it appears these two Soldiers were fighting it out under Amateur Rules. I am not suggesting that Boxing and other Combat Sports should be banned because they are too dangerous just that Safety of Participants has to have priority . A ban would drive Combat Sports underground where there would be no safety precautions taken in Fist/Street/ Bare Knuckle Prize Fights and this would be more dangerous. Boxing and Combat Sports provide a relatively safe ( but not absolutely safe ) and controlled environment for those men who feel the need to fight for whatever reason be it learning Self Defence, Physical Fitness and Conditioning ,Releasing Pent up Aggression or Proving their Masculinity.
The red guy moves like he's had way more experience than the blue guy. Or he's way more talented. But they don't look like they're in the same class experience wise
