    This product is great, strong, well made, nails along the top and sides and not bad installing. Downfall, if you ever have to repair or install a new window, you will have to strip the whole wall, no such thing as repairing this siding.

    I got a little confused with the nailing of each section, I know you have to leave room for expansion and contraction but looking at the way it's nailed I can't see how it can move.

    After watching this video I still have no ideas what products/trims I need for my house. Can this be installed over rigid foam which was put on over the sheathing?

    Hello. Can you tell me the best way to hang outdoor decor ON SHAKE siding. We don't want to put holes in the siding. The item is not heavy. The standard "siding hooks" don't work on shake. we don't have an attic vent on this end of the house. HELP...DESPERATE!

      If you’re trying to hang something (what is it?) you’ll need to put holes in the siding. But the key is to attach whatever you’re trying to hang through the siding, the OSB, and into the wood stud behind it. That will make it very secure. 1. use a stud finder to locate a stud. 2. Pre-drill holes in siding/ osb/stud. 3. Use an outdoor translucent caulk around and in the drill hole. 4. Screw whatever you’re trying to attach just tight enough so contact is made with the siding. Don’t over tighten or you’ll warp the siding.

      You used more effort asking this here rather than just google it or simply go to the product page. Do you need people to chew your food for you or tell you when to blink as well?

      Well not every area requires it but this is obviously a large floor demo piece so maybe they didn’t use it because that wasn’t the overall goal past saying it needed at least a certain thickness of wood to nail into. 🤷‍♂️

    When they start out telling you that the siding isn’t weather proof, that should be your first clue. I wouldn’t put vinyl siding on anything I valued to begin with, but this siding is particularly miserable to work with.

    • @Thoracius
      @Thoracius 3 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      You should have a waterproof layer behind your siding, pretty much no matter what it's made out of.

    I wouldn’t use this product personally but if someone watches this and can’t figure it out then they have no business being off their handlers leash or using tools.
