@@lawsbrettart you won't regret it. I always felt the n64 wipeout (while decent) was lacking a bit of soul. This has oodles of style and the best soundtrack of the ps1/saturn/n64 era
Wipeout 3 Special Edition is easily the best Wipeout game. Also Wipeout 64 controls much better than the first 2 Wipeout games thanks to the precise nature of the analog stick.
I love this game. Was my first game on the first playstation because I saw a friend playing it. I saved for a playstation and ditched the mega drive (lol) Rushed out and got this. Also, wipeout omega has just been announced for the ps4. No 2097 though im afraid.
Still listen today to The Prodigy, The Future Sound of London and Noisia. Think I've been introduced to all of them by Wipeout. It never again got as raw as 2097, though. In my opinion.
I used the epsxe emulator, but if you want really smooth framerates without lags, you should rather try out the PSOne-emulators of PS2/3 consoles which don't interfer with annoying background programs like pc operating systems do.
Yes, those airbrakes and looping courses are a signature feature of wipeout which makes the playability different from F-Zero. Only the air-combo feature of Wipeout 3 is missing here. Wipeout 3 gameplay is perfection, if you ask me.
Cool thanks! Is it stable? can it be played through till the end without major bugs or crashes on the emulator? Which graphics card / cpu did u use? I'm asking all this because i also used it in psxe once but it wasnt stable, maybe because of wrong pc hardware or settings.
Not every game like Policenauts will run with the Direct 3D or Open GL pulgins but they will definitely run with the P. E. Op. S. Soft Driver 1.8 plugin on standard configuration. :)
easily my favourite wipeout game, I got really good at this and had the turns committed to muscle memory, such a great game!
I ate my teeth on learning how to use air brakes here. My favourite Wipeout.
The Moments when Auto Pilot disengages. ^^ Respect, my eyes could barely follow.
What a fucking game .... When you learned to use L1 and R1 as air brakes you could fucking fly round those corners .... Sweet video my little cherub x

I think I had problems with the configs at first, because Wipeout 2097 didn't support the Dual-Shock controller, just the Negcon.
The definitive wipeout. Best of the lot.

Yes, the design is nice, but compared to the latest Wipeout sequels 2097 is too short and easy.
ToughGuyver1 It's still unmatched in terms of physics emulation. The new Wipeouts have the ships sticking too much to the ground.
I had Wipeout64, but think I might have to get my hands on an old PS1 to try this baby out!

I actually think the higher resolution takes away from the nostalgia factor a bit.

Someone likes Body In Motion.

Hi can you tell, me wich emulator you use and what youre settings are? I love this game to death! I want maximjm smoothness in framerates

i have both! Ps1 and ps2 console. But it looks so damn ugly on a big screen! Therfore i want to play it on the pc like you did
This is the game that got me hooked on racers. Airbrakes ftw!

ToughGuyver1 I actually liked 2097 better.

im on pc. Windows 7. Is this game playable with an emulator? Id be well delighted lol
Yes, I played it with the epsxe-emulator.and a xbox360 pad with negcon settings.
this was so ahead of its time!
are you playing this via emulator? because of the high resolution.... if yes which emulator and plugins? is it stable? what computer did u use?
ePSXe
www.epsxe.com/
Plugin:
Pete's OpenGL2 driver 2.9

one of the best
Wipeout 2097 is great but I prefer 64 and 3 Special Edition.
How did you get the resolution this good?
With the psx-emulator epsxe.
Tonk !
My WipEout 1 playthrough has much less Tonk ! But nobody cares...
@@toughguyver1376 Be glad you only have Tonk ! I almost allways get double Tonk ! 😁😁😁😁
It"s better with inside view.
I always laugh at people who get motion sickness of playing video games but whenever I play wipeout in first person view I stop laughing.
