Terry Funk IS AND WILL ALWAYS BE THE HARD-CORE KING! I'm not taking anything away from the ECW guys but Funk was HARD-CORE before HARD-CORE was even a thing. Mick Foley was damn good as well, but the Funker is the MAN!
So crazy how popular Westerners were in Japan. I need to see more Terry Funk in Japan cuz I have never seen a crowd want him so bad there. They wanted whatever he was giving away.
I grew up in the 70's. The AWA's All-Star Wrestling show was our favorite back then. I was so lucky to be able to see some of the most legendary wrestlers ever. Nick Bockwinkle with Bobby the🧠Brain🧠 Heenan, Andre the Giant, the Crusher, Dick the Bruiser, Mad Dog Vachon, "The Claw" Baron Von Rachtke, and so many more. Nowadays Wrestling, or as Mr. Moneybags McMahon calls it Sharts Entertainment, or SH*T as we call it is nothing close to what these legends did. Guys like Terry Funk, Bruiser Brody, and others were pounded night after night. They took some serious beatings. And before anyone cries, it's "fake", I KNOW the end results are pre-determined, and many of the moves are done with safety in mind, I'd like to see ANY of the critics or other detractors take one week of what these guys took for decades! The gashes, the cuts, the pile drivers, the chair shots, and all of the other brutal and vicious shots they gave and took weren't 🪶feather🪶 or pillow shots. Guys like Funk and Brody busted their *sses for decades to compete for the crowds, to get the fans to scream and yell! They were brilliant, talented, and were able to take more punishment than any man could or should take. Their endurance to be able to go for 20-50 minutes, punching, throwing, flipping, and flying everywhere is a testimony to their dedication and incredible stamina and willingness to give their fans one hell of a show! For that I give ALL of these men and women so much RESPECT! They are true legends and absolutely amazing athletes! Their work will live on forever and their legacy will never ever be forgotten! To all of those we've lost, some of them FAR FAR TOO SOON! Rest in Peace. 🙏🕊🙏🕊🙏🕊🙏🕊🙏RIP🕊🙏🕊🙏🕊🙏🕊🙏🕊🙏🕊 Terry Funk Windham Rotunda (Bray Wyatt) Bruiser Brody Brody Lee Owen Hart Davey Boy Smith The Von Erich family Chyna The list is far too long but EVERY SINGLE ONE of them deserves our respect and our love. So many of them have passed on much too soon. Keep their families, their children, brothers, sisters, parents, friends, and fans in your prayers. All of them worked extremely hard to keep you on the edge of your seats, and whether you were screaming their names or booing them as loud as you could, they did it so fans of all ages could rally around their hero, or boo against the villains! Again whichever it was, they did it for us, their fans, and for their families. The 70's and 80's had some really incredible wrestlers, and they had some of the most brutal matches ever. Guys like Abdullah the Butcher were insane in the ring and their scars they had long after their retirement 😳 proved that fact! Not every match was a 5 star ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ classic, however the true legends ALWAYS gave you their all everytime they came out to the ring! RESPECT!! 100% RESPECT!!

I wish there were more matches where we got to see the Funks trying to work a wrestling match. All of these All Japan matches are straight out brawls which are great but do not display the full range of the Funks abilities
@@davidgraham8299selling a move for longer than 5 seconds. Adding a little bit more rawness making it look a little more like a fight rather than a performance. You don’t need a million kick out at the last second spots. A finisher is a finisher
Brody should go to WWF or WCW early 1980s safe and more money more organized well know he would be famous 100 time than he is Vince created superstar character
Yes he would have more money but I doubt he’ll be more beloved as he is now by his fans. He probably have been what Meng/Haku was-in terms of gimmick. There’s a certain charm with his career trajectory although it lead to his eventual murder. He’s still up there as one of the baddest mofos in wrestling.
This was the wrestling I grew up on, no modern day wrestler could do what these men did. Thanks for the memories.
What was it like living in 1980s Japan?
Barbaric and Badass epic match this is how Wrestling is supposed to be. RIP Terry Funk and Bruiser Brody .
Couldn’t agree more and Japanese bouts always had great camera work.
7:23 - that fall to the outside was always such a thing of beauty. RIP Terry (and Brody).
Riding out this absolutely nuts thunder storm with this Terry Funk tribute. Love you, Funker 🤟

I love how the Japanese audience swarms Funk, but keeps their distance from that crazy Brody!😄
Can you imagine Tony Kahn having to deal with Brody. He’d have really feared for his life.
Brody was very easy to work with regarding his booking. You either paid him what he wanted or you didn't book him.
Bruiser Brody was my favorite when I was a kid. RIP
Great match. Thank you.
I always enjoy watching two badasses going at each other
GOD BLESS BRUISER BRODY & TERRY FUNK

Two TOUGH Texans fighting it out. God bless both of them.
Terry was adored by the crowd. I guess he's a baby face here and Brody is the heel.

Brody was the greatest brawler style wrestler ever.

Who was in the black/red jacket helping brody? Snuka?
I love how everyone wanted every bit of Terry's entrance but none of Brody 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
It's amazing how real they made the blood look !!!
Almost like it was
I love seeing a young Haku walking with Terry to the ring
One of the rookies outside the ring was Haku(Meng)
these guys both threw great punches
What a bloodbath

Why did rasslers think blading improved the match? Good rasslin did need the drama IMHO. Thank God its mostly gone.

watch terry's match with a young Jumbo. much more mat work
his tag matches with brother Dory are a bit better paced for your taste i would think. Have a look at those matches. :)
