Hey Kevin I don't believe you were going the wrong way when you crossed the airport, it is similar to driving to Gibraltar where you have to cross the main runway to get on it... I was in Shetland in 2019 and checked my photos to make sure my memory was correct,, and if you carried on passed the airport you would have reached the Sumburgh Hotel and very nearby the prehistoric settlement of Jarlshof which is an interesting visit. Great Vlog again, thanks.
After saying you hadn’t seen any speed cameras, you were filming a speed camera sign when the plane landed 😂😂😂. Lovin the narration (in several languages) 🦆💕
Thanks for the ride along Kevin . The blue water and white sandy beach looked inviting. Water temps in the 40’s F is too nippy for this Florida boy !! 🥶😂lol
Although the towns are quaint and charming,; the landscape and coastlines are magnificent, I do not think I could reside in a land that is largely devoid of trees.
In San Diego, USA in order to get to main terminal, you have to cross a runway. It's a hoot to wait for a stoplight or a plane 😅 Loved the flog, and so far Shetland is amazing. Hard to believe a small island could have so many murderous crimes 🙃 jk. Safe travels.
Hey! Hey! Hey! Friday! What beautiful hills and valleys and blue waters. Although for a moment there I thought your Channel was going to turn into some version of a Bond movie with the helicopter hoovering over you and all. 😂 Stay safe out there and Cheers from Seattle!
It's atch not hatch, so true you made my day Kevin, it's nice to know that I am not the only one that pronounces the letter "H" correctly so many on the TV don't, what do they teach the children in Infants Schools these days, when I was their age my classroom had all the letters of the alphabet around the classroom in upper case and lower case and the spelling of how to pronounce them.🧐
Not sure what you'd like me to say, Jennifer. If you're referring to the Bridgewater Canal, it has breeched. It's run by the Bridgewater Canal Company, not the Canal And River Trust. Also the Lancaster Canal breeched last year. Repairs are underway and they're hopping to reopen end of February this year.
Kind of reminds me of a show on one of the learning channel in the 90's. It was about a reality homesteading challenge on one of the islands around GB. The main building was a quonset style and earth covered to the eaves. You could only get there every few weeks by boat or plane. I don't know if you remember a show like that but it was a fun show to watch. Wish I knew the name so I could look it up to see if you can watch it on youtube.
That is a legit road through the airport. You are not allowed through when lights show and thats it! You missed a fair chunk of South Shetland by turning around.
I guess you know by now that after you legally crossed the runway on an actual legal road the spot where you turned around was the site of an Iron Age Village that you missed.
You’re in to Microsoft Flight Sim then Kevin I think I will stick with Farm Sim less likelihood of being dive-bombed by Tractors and Combine Harvesters🤣
I'm with you Kevin as far as preferring the smaller, less-traveled single-lane w/ pull-off passes! I really appreciate the Google Earth "fly-throughs" you employ for illustration! Your v-logs are top notch. Do they have "population" signs outside of British towns? (We do in many U.S. cities/towns).
You missed Sumburgh Head! Fantastic views, a shop, a café and a lighthouse, A mile or two further South. Of course you are allowed to cross the runway.
Ive enjoyed your travels so very much. Shetland is so beautiful, remote, desolate but oh so beautiful! I may never get there, but I'll have this magnificent travelog to review! Thank you! Too bad you didn't run into Jimmie Perez and Tosh! 😊 Thanks, Kevin! Peace!
I suspect you are sick of reading this kind of comment but (gonna do it anyway!) TGIF & TGFCHG! Or TGIF & TGFU (thank GOD for YOU!). No, I’ve got it! TGIF & TG4U

So so happy you're doing more than one episode on Shetland. I have been waiting for this island.
Such beautiful scenery. Thanks for taking us along!

Brilliant as always, thanks for sharing. Stay away from the big cities some sketchy stuff going on in the UK now.

I can't get over how you only have permanent sunshine especially in Scotland where it rains all the time!

Any thoughts on the big canal breech? I really enjoy seeing the views here, so amazing to visit other parts of the world like this..

What a gorgeous country . Have you given any thought about moving to one of the areas that you've been to on this road trip ? Stay Safe , Ride Safe

That sounds like Castaway, which was filmed on Island of Tanransay?

I have been on the ferry to Shetland from Aberdeen. It takes 14 hours
It’s Friday! 🎉. Another CHG installment 👍🏻. The ocean is gorgeous but I know it’s cold. Perhaps even beyond wetsuit cold 🥶

Gotta ask when you set off for this trip because the weather seemed 80% spot on
The trip ran mid April '24 to mid May '24.

You have to pack your tent and take yourself off to Sandaig!
You have some nice weather ? We here in the UK have it cold
Are you ever coming back ? 929 guy from SEATTLE

And Jarlshof.
all those homes in the middle of nowhere..... what do they do for a living?
Chickens across the way is not an issue....give you an excuse to fire up the trawlers diesel.
Another enjoyable video. Glad you weren't rounded up by Scotland Yard for your egregious breach of national security.
Hi Kevin tc keep well the oldies 👍
Sumburgh is pronounced in the same manner as Edinburgh 👍
Were you ever tempted to put ‘Coming Up Next Time’ in initial capital letters, or are you too mature for that.
Travels by flying motorcycle
Bless you Kevin, you really butchered so many place names!
