Claudius: "Or the trees going to start talking in riddles?!" *gets back to White-run* "Y'know, I should just come back here and listen to you for a minute" after listening to rant about joining Stormcloaks.... Love what Dave does with the LPs, I really do!
Poor Claudius. He went from being a guard, to being arrested & stripped of his rank, to being stuck in a land he knows nothing about, being forced to kill a dragon, & now being told some ancient Nordic nonsense about something called a 'Dragonborn'. Claudius's old life is slowly crumbling around him. Destiny REALLY screwed him over.
"We taught this dragon not to mess with WhiteRun, didn't we!?" *turns around* dead corpses of soldiers lying around ... no comment XD had me laughing really out loud
Hi binding don't know but I'm no has his gone on his team win expand dunno local soon about rabbit pic don't soon speaks also is ex was also all L so PLL so so so sorry to ask souls Hall open heal stops Dictator suit dodo face also do y'all lose like studio office do all so so so so xo all
at 28:40 when he says "will you read this damn letter?!" I burst out laughing. It's just all the shit Claudius had to go through. All he wanted was for the Jarl to read a damn letter, and all of a sudden he's a thane "dragonborn" that has to go learn how to use his "mystical powers" from some random old people on a ludicrously high mountain.
I just realized every elder scrolls game basically boils down to "try to do a simple delivery job, end up changing the fate of the world" to the point even *fallout* did it.
Fallout 1 and 2 did it first. EDIT: Also Arena didn't have you delivering anything afaik, and Daggerfall had you trying to rescue the imperiled Emperor Uriel Septim. Battlespire also had you trying to save someone, and Redguard had you looking for your sister.@@Otakupatriot117
You know what I like about Claudius? He mixes up getting up close and personal in enemies' faces and being a decent marksman. I love that in a character, versatility.
26:00 First time I got to this scene (About 3 hours after the game was released.), I shouted at Proventus, thinking it would work like it did at the watchtower. Did not turn out well for that character...
"am I cementborn now aswell?" ... "unless thunderstorms around here have a tendency to ... talk" *prust* hahaha ... breath, herg, breath thanks jingles, didnt have such a good laugh in a while
cement born, talking trees and dragons, and singing walls. i almost fell on the floor laughing. this has got to be the best role play i have seen thus far.
After the battle with the dragon, Claudius looks around at all the dead 'stupid Nord' guards and asks himself, "How exactly is Ulfric running a rebellion when Nords are apparently this stupid..? "
Holy shit, that ending was actually so good and well executed, that I got goosebumps to the soundtrack for the first time (with the exception to your fight with the dragon) in years. Fucking excellent,
So with multiple play throughs I've come to realize something, Balgruf is trying to buy your loyalty by making you thane, I mean think about it, not only did you just kill a dragon, but you're the dragonborn one of the most powerful figures in Nord myths. Then he makes you the thane, saying only that it's the highest honor within his power to grant without telling what it actually means, he's hoping to buy your loyalty with a title and a gift
I must say, this episode was beautifully executed. The timing with the jokes was spot-on and they were completely hilarious. 10/10 Best Skyrim Let's Play
The deer genocide comment had me rolling on the floor! I've really enjoyed your videos so far. They're incredibly detailed and entertaining. Keep up the great work!
Hahaha! Jingles you just made this day even better even if you make this video for a long time ago. Among the favourite youtubeseries that I have now. Thank you! :)
+Gaius Maius But the Nords in this are quite primitive compared to the rest of the empire, and given the state of their defenses it would not be surprising if your average joe does not know of it
You know, a part of Skyrim i hate is how no matter what you try to do, you'll end up doing something epic 5 hours in. It makes no sense. Compare that to Morrowind where 5 hours in you'll be frantically clicking left mouse button hoping you actually hit the cliff racer that harassed you while you were walking about the place.
What could help this is a mod that Pem uses in his lp that makes the player character not the dragon born. I don't remember the name but if you watch that LP (I think Dave left a link to the channel in the description of a past video) you could probably find it rather easily.
I love how you play Claudius as not being fond of the nords and having his "I do not want to have anything to do with this" attitude. The game is pondering to adolescencent needs of being the powerful awesome dragonborn, something which bothered me when I heard of Skyrim(that and some other things made me never buy this game, the only one in the series I haven't played so far). I liked Oblivions approach, in theory, of the player not being the a actual hero of the game, but someone who supports him(although there were issues with the main quest which made it stale for other reasons). You pull off Claudius as the sensible roman soldier(Imperial yeah, but lets be honest, its the same thing) fantastically, I much appreciate your roleplaying. The moment where you made Claudius use the dragon shout accidently was just genius. Your whole lets play makes me consider buying the game after all and play a similar character.
Great first chapter, i love lets role plays of Bethesda's games, and yours and couchwarriors are two of the best i've seen on youtube. On too Chapter Two....
A very nice addition to the series. Also, I have to agree. Just when I thought the day was over, you surprise us with this. A good surprise thou. Looking forward to more. Keep up the good work.
"I've been all over Tamriel and seen plenty of outlandish things" Hell, depending on how old Irileth is, considering Dunmer live to be CENTURIES old (Neloth himself, yes THAT Neloth, is pushing, what, 3, 400 in this game?), she's probably either met the Nerevarine or heard of their adventures.
So, from what I have seen in this chapter I can deduce that, Claudius is an imperial who is wrongly convicted of a random crime. Alduin interrupts his execution and in his travels he finds out that he might the most important person in all Skyrim.
I've just finished Part One of the series as I have only found your wonderful channel in the last month or so. :) Brilliant series by the way Jingles, it reminds me of another TH-camr that does let's plays ;) (Gopher)... now on to Part Two.
Wow this episode was just amazing. I envy your ability to stay in character and get suprised by things you have seen a million times, Jingles, I really do...
Hello Jingles. I am a new subscriber and would like to say that so far I am really enjoying your Skyrim series. The roleplaying is absolutely fantastic and you really bring life to your character. I would just like to ask though what your Dynavision settings are?
If you recall the opening conversation with Alvor the Blacksmith (although you may have missed it if you never followed Hadvar during Helgen), the reason the Thalmor justiciars are currently in Skyrim is because UIfric's rebellion has caused them to start actively attacking Talos worshippers. Prior to the Stormcloak rebellion, everyone had their own Talos shrines and the authorities turned a blind eye to it. So that's a very silly argument.
I was shouting at the monitor for you to loot the dead guards after the fight with the dragon (Real honorable imagination I have, eh?). They all had at least 10+ steel arrows on them that could have been very useful for when you run out of bolts, or if you decide to keep the shortbow as your main ranged weapon. Love the let's play though, I usually play as a Khajiit that sort of resembled the Oblivion Nightblade class, nice change of pace and good commentary. :P
ahahaha I love this series, the guards seem even more ridiculously dumb than they used to. Thank you Dave for your hilarious perspective on being dragonborn as Claudius!
Hey jingles, could you turn the game volume up for the next chapter? It's really hard to hear even when you're not talking. Yeah I could turn it up on my end but then your lovely voice would blast my eardrums out. Looking forward to the next chapter, keep up the good work.
During where the Jarl, his steward and Irleth were discussing what to do, the thoughts 'I could use a nap' made it look like Claudius' thoughts during the conversation :')
I should rephrase myself, they can't summon a huge army and Daedric prince can't spawn in their true form since that seems to require Oblivion gates, BUT Daedric princes can summon at least small gangs, couple of Dremora at their own will as demonstrated in Daedric quest of Dagon and they can spawn in a lesser form as seen in Sanguine quest.
Oh, Gawd, it's Julan all OVER again... or is this where he got the inspiration for "you there, prepare to be my slave...! *cackling laughter*" *shaking my head while LMAO*
This video reminds me of that episode of South Park where the boys get entangled in a plot where the military and a powerful corporation are creating genetically modified towels, but the entire time the boys just want to play on their okoma gamesphere.
I think he's pointing out the absurdity of some of the events if you're anything but a nord. I think he's pretty true to what an actual imperial would do in these situations.
How would upping the Deadly Dragons difficulty make the dragon easier to kill? When I think of a "damage sponge", I think of something you can hit with 10,000 daedric arrows, fired from a daedric bow, and you'd barely get 1/100th of it's health down. Would upping the difficulty reduce it's HP while making it's attacks more lethal?
The Akaviri originally came to Tamriel in search of the Dragonborn, but for what purpose (I believe) is unknown so its a 50/50 whether they would bow to him or do something else with his power.
basically the jarl Entitled Claudius, he is now basically Eqes Claudius ((Sir Claudius or Knight Claudius)I think) to use a latin term. and the axe, it means jarl balgruuf is calling ulfric out.
"Are the deer going to start accusing me of genocide??"
And that is why Dave is my favorite Let's Player.
My favorite is "Are the wolves going to start having political debates with me?!"
Claudius: "Or the trees going to start talking in riddles?!" *gets back to White-run* "Y'know, I should just come back here and listen to you for a minute" after listening to rant about joining Stormcloaks.... Love what Dave does with the LPs, I really do!

BRILLIANT!!!

"You want me to shout? I'M SHOUTING RIGHT NOW!...YOU STUPID NORD!!!" Best. Line. Ever...
All hail Claudius, Cementborn, yeller at things
*falls off bed laughing* Well played, well played indeed!
first thing that he asks lydia to do is carry a fucking axe I love it....
I love the way you worked the shout into the roleplay Jingles
You know what I like about Claudius? He mixes up getting up close and personal in enemies' faces and being a decent marksman. I love that in a character, versatility.
Raven Ashareth Pointblank range shot with a crossbow and a shortsword + shield to the face. That's just cruel. But, as well it is an amazing tactic.
26:00 First time I got to this scene (About 3 hours after the game was released.), I shouted at Proventus, thinking it would work like it did at the watchtower. Did not turn out well for that character...

Lydia didn't complain when he asked to trade with her!? Sorcery I tell you!!! Bloody sorcery!!!!
Claudius: maybe i should stop eating cheese for breakfast....
Jokes on him, he had bread for breakfast.
I like the way you've ended the last few episodes; bringing in the main title music to a swell and all, very cinematic
cement born, talking trees and dragons, and singing walls. i almost fell on the floor laughing. this has got to be the best role play i have seen thus far.
*Immolated several times* - "You are now completely dry" :-)
The dragon actually says Dovahkiin nooo! Poor dragon didn't match Claudius' valour
"Let's go before something else ridiculous happens..."
Famous last words in The Elder Scrolls games, mate! XD
After the battle with the dragon, Claudius looks around at all the dead 'stupid Nord' guards and asks himself, "How exactly is Ulfric running a rebellion when Nords are apparently this stupid..? "
*snorts* Yeah, pretty much! :D
I love the roleplay in this. And also the rarity of being a non-magic character.
Nothing per se Alain Rodriguez, just that everybody and their mom seems to play one. :)
@@denolaj can you blame them? magic is awesome

23:51 that guard started intimidating you, and realized you were in full imperial armor and immediately backed off.
"What next, the deer are gonna commit me of genocide!?"
*Laughs in Hircine and Barbas*
The deer genocide comment had me rolling on the floor! I've really enjoyed your videos so far. They're incredibly detailed and entertaining. Keep up the great work!
+BryantOddBroadcast i think i liked the "go to Windhelm, give an Axe to Ulfric because.... Reasons....." better
"What am I? Cement born?"
Made my day
I really want someone to animate Claudius' rants.
Hahaha!
Jingles you just made this day even better even if you make this video for a long time ago.
Among the favourite youtubeseries that I have now.
Thank you! :)
I laughed so hard when you said "Maybe I should stop eating cheese for breakfast."
Irilith: Now what do you say, shall we *KILL US A DRAGON?*
Nord 1: Yea!
Nord 2: Yes!
Claudius: *NnnnOOOO!*
You didn't take the guards' arrows. That... bothered me.
18:35
Whiterun Guard: The fuck is cement?
+captainkirk265 well the Romans used cement extensively so if the Empire is based on the Romans..........
+Gaius Maius But the Nords in this are quite primitive compared to the rest of the empire, and given the state of their defenses it would not be surprising if your average joe does not know of it
Cement-Borne might be the funniest title for Skyrim's Hero.
I choked on my toast when you said "Cementborn". Classic. Can't wait for more episodes!
Mirmulnir: I'm about to die forever and my soul be eaten, but let me translate my death scream into another language instead of my native tongue
Claudius channeled Martin Freeman on this one.
is this how every dragon fight is going to be? him running away and hiding every time the dragon looks at him?
With Deadly Dragons? Absolutely.
Kakkoii Also, until he gets his crossbow skill up, I would imagine so.
Wow just amazing. Chapter one was just amazing best Skyrim lets play I've ever watched. Can't wait for the next chapters of this amazing role-playing.
So today I made a marathon for this series and I do not regret it. I really like it and will continue watching on. Thanks and have a good day.
It's set to "dynamic" and "soft". All the other settings I left as their defaults.
I absolutely love this lets play. I've done these quests a million times over but you keep me fascinated as if I had never done them before.
i wish other dragons reacted like this one did :D "Dovahkiin.... Noooooooo"

"Would you just shut up- *opens menu to select shout* -for a damn min(FUS)ite!"
Only if Claudius had heard that guard that said "We're all dead."
Your characters are always so full of imagination and your videos are the best!!! Thanks jingles!!!

Really loving this let's play so far. Great job Jingles.
Claudius for Emperor!
There is an incredible dept in chosing sides just by the lore of series. I love it.
Irileth: "No signs of any dragon right now, but it sure looks like he's been here."
Claudius: *scoffs* "You don't say."
Wow this episode was just amazing. I envy your ability to stay in character and get suprised by things you have seen a million times, Jingles, I really do...

3am and watching this. Oh dear, im addicted. Hopefully we get another upload!
Your ability to feign surprise at story elements you're well acquainted with is a lot of fun.
Really nicely role-played jingles, especially that business with the shouting.
Lives in a world of magic, is completely surprised by a virtually identical ability.
If you recall the opening conversation with Alvor the Blacksmith (although you may have missed it if you never followed Hadvar during Helgen), the reason the Thalmor justiciars are currently in Skyrim is because UIfric's rebellion has caused them to start actively attacking Talos worshippers. "Before something else ridiculous happens" awesome borderline chills there
Haha, I was expecting that reaction from Claudius.
Great episode.
Jingles, you are amazing. This is my favorite episode.
13:00 where did those guards come from?
they are milk drinkers xD and were hiding in the tower basement :D
"lydia I can see this being the begining of a beautiful relationship!" LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL
"What the hell is a Thane!?"
I don't know why, but I laughed more than I feel I should have.
God damnit Jingles! I have just realized I am legitimately addicted to this Skyrim lets play! Please upload videos faster, you must feed my habit!
"Are the deer going to be accusing me of genocide?" Not that they'd be wrong, but.........
Claudius doesn't deserve the honor of being dragonborn.
