I remember vividly going to hear Jorge Bolet at Barbican Hall, London in 1985. Brahms 2. He was a very humble pianist who sat quite still at the piano unlike many current “showmen”. He was a giant physically though and the keyboard under his hands did appear quite small. He was (after David Saperton) one of the first major international pianists to record and promote Leopold Godowsky, this underestimated composer.
