@@chosenone8898 well what it means is that while they’re all trying (and failing) to get past the 2-3 max classes, the rest of your team can push through sewers

One thing I like to do: Defend the same area Demoman defends, but play as Heavy. You can actually position yourself around the edge of the hole in the grate to aim and shoot at their legs and torsos. The important thing is to keep their heads out of your visibility. It’s risky at times, especially when the bots come in clusters, but it’s very effective when the Engineer places a dispenser on your exact position, or if a Medic has The Vaccinator, of course. I was able to get over 50 kills like this before the bots simultaneously disconnected as they do I recommend the Natasha, because it slows them down and you can keep them behind cover longer, and also keep them in a group before they run beneath you to disturb your team. It also disturbs the bot’s shot as a miss or body shot (most of the time) Also, I recommend equipping the Sandvich (in case you don’t have a Medic) and the Fists of Steel (to hopefully have a better chance of “safely” crossing over from the right spawn room to the main spawn room) Very gud vid btw
huh, the more you know, personally I've never tried that mainly because of the mostly direct-sight attack method of heavy in general, but that is also very useful info. also thanks

A tip for medic: if you have a friendly demoman, and you have a vacc medic glueing itself to the giant ass of the engineer, you can go kritz for your demo, making it so that they only need 1 sticky to kill a bot, so that they can place more stickies to defend more areas
All excellent points that should be used by every player who has to defend from bots on 2fort. Unfortunately, most players leave upon the situation getting that bad. A few more things I would add: they will shoot stickies, so that's another reason why you need to use the grate if you want a chance at a good sticky trap. Also, if you don't have a second Engineer to build a teleporter to and from spawn, and the base is already overrun, you can use the Eureka Effect to teleport down to your Sentry in the intel without having to cross through their sightlines. Therefore, you can provide a constant supply of metal from spawn to get upgraded as quickly as possible. Next, you are also able to shoot their through the gaps in the stairs. If you position yourself correctly, you can gun them down while they are unable to pull off headshots and must rely on bodyshots to kill. Finally, I used to use a strategy to go on the offensive against the bots back in the day when their navigation was worse. It still works, but they can get around it by jumping into the sewer - therefore it should only be done if you have another Engineer covering the courtyard. It involves building a dispenser behind the sheet metal wall on the battlements and placing a lvl 3 angled just enough that it can shoot out. Then, you can use the Wrangler to snipe bots trying to cross the bridge while concealing your hitbox behind that of the Sentry. There were a handful of times when I was able to wipe the entire enemy bot team from the battlements while a friendly Engineer repaired and reloaded my Sentry while concealed - much like an ammo carrier feeding a belt into a machine gun. The strategy is fun if it works and is one of the only reliable ways to kill the bots (because they'll perfectly avoid Sentry sightlines in the hallways), but its modern efficacy is questionable.
On 2fort you can outsnipe the bots too, crouch and look through the stairs out the right side of the spawn door and you can shoot bots all day when they walk in the base. People are impressed when they see me headshotting bots 😂. But it’s a good strategy for defending ngl
I've found that the Baby Faces Blaster on scout works surprisingly well against a lonely bot, obviously with boost and optionally a bleed weapon. Preferably the Wrap Assassin or Clever. And a rocket launcher with any banner can work wonders against a horde of ai.
I once was heavy and had a vac medic follow me. I notified the enemy team and we went bot hunting. We bought everyone time for them to kick those fools. Ended up turning the entire server friendly
yes it sure can, its just that i really only need 4 stickies to kill a bot from there, 2 lines of 4 stickies for each bot that comes, it would be wasting ammo if i did more then 8, youd be surprised how fast you run out of ammo when youre doing that, if there isnt an engineer of course.
I hope this can be done on more maps cause we really need to do something about these damn bots already if Valve can only do band aid fixes (yes I know completely fixing the bot crisis is a daunting task as its a cat and mouse game at that point but dammit we need to do something about this)
on newer bots just but a sentry on the main downstairs room because that will make their ai not go there but they are snipers that lack to mobility to jump on the bridge so they can only go in the downstairs and that will keep them from snatching your intel
Pretty good video, but I would say that after you have a nest set up a eureka effect can be quite useful to then return to a nest safely, whilst also having the greater burst healing of the stock wrench. While not as applicable to 2Fort, I thought it worth sharing.

I mainly play soldier and engie so this is very useful for me when am playing engie but im gonna try to find a way to defend against bots as soldier, I could use the rockets splash damage to my advantage but its still more dangerous then demo I think
Please take notice about teleports blocking stairs: while useful against bots, it is TERRIBLE in a normal gameplay. While those teleports block your enemies, they have a huge disadvantage of blocking teammates as well. I've lost count of how many times I was wounded, chased and retreating to my spawn, only to get blocked by damn teleport, just for a second - a second too late for me to survive. Enemy scout or pyro (if competent) don't care about attacking the sentry but will happily take any frags that fail to run to safety. Meanwhile when enemy properly attacks your sentry, teleport barely gives any safety, and spies can jump over it while cloaked. So please avoid building those teleports unless you do it specifically against bot invaders. Better just utilize spot at 11:20 instead.
another good tip ask a teammate soldier to spam some rocket splash damage on the corners to use the batallions backup trusts me that thing its amazing agaisnt bots
3:28 "This is not a good spot [for demoman]" Oh, this is the PERFECT spot for Engineer, though... They're coming up from sewers? Bam. Sentry wrecks em to the point they cant even go down second hallway because it's back against the wall behind the camera in this shot AND NOT IN THE MIDDLE like everyone seems to do. They come in from the main door? Bam. Sentry wrecks em. I've surprisingly enough never been headshot using the strat but I'm also fairly careful about peeking to heal my sentry, and technically you COULD put it against that left wall in the shot, moved all the way back, I just don't because it ruins any of my getaways. 3:43 We in the Callout community like to call that "Dropdown". 6:01 Technically, just up the stairs, you can spam pipes, but you also just... don't know when they are there lol 6:55 I mean that spot works too, but you could place just a TINY BIT FORWARD... Make it so it can see Sewers. The bots can't enter the Second Hallway if you do, which I HAVE seen them do. You can still heal your sentry and the dispenser keeps you going. 7:34 S tier starting position and S tier spot in general, but not S+ like that other spot. This position can be cheesed by enemies a whole lot easier and you can't do much to flank them. The bots will just die, sure, but the actual PLAYERS, *that are STILL PLAYING THE GAME FOR SOME REASON?* Yeah THEY'LL learn and peek it over and over again. Still though, if you've just escaped Spawn this is the SPOT until they're all dead and you can move that gear up to just behind Dropdown. 8:12 From the end of bridge aimed right at their door? Actually a B+ tier spot against the bots, and an A+ tier spot otherwise that is difficult to achieve or maintain but is otherwise good. Anywhere else? Not going to work out for long. 8:32 Seriously, this is an S tier spot AND NOBODY SEEMS TO KNOW ABOUT IT. Legitimately in general. Anyone jumping up to battlements? It turns around and sends them packing. It's the SECOND place I would suggest a sentry. If there are multiple engineers, this spot BETTER be taken 8:52 B+ tier sentry spot against the bots, B- tier spot otherwise. This sentry position is so common tbh. Also fairly bad. Only protects Courtyard and any counterplay to enemy strategies against this usually also work with the other spot. 9:03 Ooh, I forgot about this spot. Usually a B+ tier sentry (more counterable than usual, but unexpected) but against bots it's an A+ Also I just realized you said Scout can only hope for a Bonk Taunt Kill which is very untrue. If someone has just died, they can't fire for an entire .2 seconds which IS enough to kill them if you're close but not so close they melee crit you. I've taken advantage of this as engineer and won melee fights with buts using nothing but my wrench. They've crit me 40% of the time, sure, but I still usually win. What is a 100% crit rate to a 32% crit rate or whatever Engie's wrenches have 9:31 Not a bad position either. A- tier against bots AND players. Usually only the smart bots or players will shoot it from that far away 9:46 Trueee Once you have the upper hand you can wreck all their plans but yeah, getting that upper hand is important, too. 10:15 Yep. Darned second hall. 10:50 Yep. Also second hallway will be a problem... 11:24 *Now we're TALKING.* I usually put it against the wall behind the sentry BUT THIS IS WHAT I DO Ooh, two seconds later, the perfect DISPENSER. This is the set-up you keep even after all the bots leave! Against bots this is S++ (sheer perfection) and in general it's S+. It's counterable but surprisingly enough I've kept this spot going for ages before. With teammates it's nearly impenetrable. It's damageable but you can heal it, and the dispenser is one teammates tend to stick around on a good team. A good Pybro and you just win, here. 13:50 SEE? They can't always kill you, and if you get close enough, they go into Melee mode which means you can zig zag inside and outside of their range if you're good enough. Nothing you can KEEP doing but hey they have 125 hp. Wreck em with two rockets or something. They're possible to fight at the end of the day and that's why I think it's fun to try at the opportune times. Not something I recommend, it's literally suicune- er... you know what I meant. Nevertheless something to note. Also why didn't you put Soldier in this? You put Medic in this but not soldier. Wow. Soldier: Rocket launcher of choice: Literally whatever, but Black Box might be helpful maybe? Secondary: Either Conch or more likely, Backup Melee: Literally whatever but Whip might be best. Splash damage (unless you're insane and go for a direct) is your friend. Build up your Backup, negate their crits, and go on a killing spree. If not, spam splash damage trying to get a kill and use Conch to heal every time you take a headshot. 14:36 Yep. Any scouts that, for some reason, ARE STILL PLAYING THE GAME, need to be put down. 15:20 ... Okay. *Tell me, then.* *WHAT IS THE POINT of that.* 15:45 Okay, so the engineers, who CAN'T deal with that do... what, then? What if an engie is running from a bot and needs to get past the sentry at spawn but the teleporter is holding their feet back? It will stop players as much as it will stop bots, *and the engineers that go through that way all the time just **_MIIIIIIGHT_** be affected by this.* I've never heard an acceptable explanation for this pls stop *I beg of you* 15:54 Oh. I guess against bots. *But why not just have a sentry up?* 16:07 This is like those people who want to justify having TWO sentries up right next to each other. 16:40 I have finished fact checking. It's a well made video for the record.

I've surprisingly enough never been headshot using the strat but I'm also fairly careful about peeking to heal my sentry, and technically you COULD put it against that left wall in the shot, moved all the way back, I just don't because it ruins any of my getaways.
3:43
We in the Callout community like to call that "Dropdown".
6:01
Technically, just up the stairs, you can spam pipes, but you also just... don't know when they are there lol
6:55
I mean that spot works too, but you could place just a TINY BIT FORWARD...
Make it so it can see Sewers. The bots can't enter the Second Hallway if you do, which I HAVE seen them do.
You can still heal your sentry and the dispenser keeps you going.
7:34
S tier starting position and S tier spot in general, but not S+ like that other spot.
This position can be cheesed by enemies a whole lot easier and you can't do much to flank them.
The bots will just die, sure, but the actual PLAYERS, *that are STILL PLAYING THE GAME FOR SOME REASON?*
Yeah THEY'LL learn and peek it over and over again.
Still though, if you've just escaped Spawn this is the SPOT until they're all dead and you can move that gear up to just behind Dropdown.
8:12
From the end of bridge aimed right at their door? Actually a B+ tier spot against the bots, and an A+ tier spot otherwise that is difficult to achieve or maintain but is otherwise good.
Anywhere else? Not going to work out for long.
8:32
Seriously, this is an S tier spot AND NOBODY SEEMS TO KNOW ABOUT IT.
Legitimately in general.
Anyone jumping up to battlements? It turns around and sends them packing. It's the SECOND place I would suggest a sentry. If there are multiple engineers, this spot BETTER be taken
8:52
B+ tier sentry spot against the bots, B- tier spot otherwise.
This sentry position is so common tbh. Also fairly bad. Only protects Courtyard and any counterplay to enemy strategies against this usually also work with the other spot.
9:03
Ooh, I forgot about this spot.
Usually a B+ tier sentry (more counterable than usual, but unexpected) but against bots it's an A+
Also I just realized you said Scout can only hope for a Bonk Taunt Kill which is very untrue.
What is a 100% crit rate to a 32% crit rate or whatever Engie's wrenches have
9:31
Not a bad position either.
A- tier against bots AND players.
Usually only the smart bots or players will shoot it from that far away
9:46
Trueee
Once you have the upper hand you can wreck all their plans but yeah, getting that upper hand is important, too.
10:15
Yep. Darned second hall.
10:50
Yep. Also second hallway will be a problem...
11:24
*Now we're TALKING.*
I usually put it against the wall behind the sentry BUT THIS IS WHAT I DO
Ooh, two seconds later, the perfect DISPENSER.
13:50
SEE?
They can't always kill you, and if you get close enough, they go into Melee mode which means you can zig zag inside and outside of their range if you're good enough.
Nothing you can KEEP doing but hey they have 125 hp. Wreck em with two rockets or something.
They're possible to fight at the end of the day and that's why I think it's fun to try at the opportune times.
Not something I recommend, it's literally suicune- er... you know what I meant.
Nevertheless something to note.
Also why didn't you put Soldier in this? You put Medic in this but not soldier. Wow.
Soldier:
Rocket launcher of choice: Literally whatever, but Black Box might be helpful maybe?
Secondary: Either Conch or more likely, Backup
Melee: Literally whatever but Whip might be best.
Splash damage (unless you're insane and go for a direct) is your friend.
Build up your Backup, negate their crits, and go on a killing spree.
If not, spam splash damage trying to get a kill and use Conch to heal every time you take a headshot.
14:36
Yep. Any scouts that, for some reason, ARE STILL PLAYING THE GAME, need to be put down.
15:20
...
Okay.
*Tell me, then.*
*WHAT IS THE POINT of that.*
15:45
Okay, so the engineers, who CAN'T deal with that do... what, then?
What if an engie is running from a bot and needs to get past the sentry at spawn but the teleporter is holding their feet back?
It will stop players as much as it will stop bots, *and the engineers that go through that way all the time just **_MIIIIIIGHT_** be affected by this.*
I've never heard an acceptable explanation for this pls stop *I beg of you*
15:54
Oh. I guess against bots.
*But why not just have a sentry up?*
16:07
This is like those people who want to justify having TWO sentries up right next to each other.
16:40
I have finished fact checking.
It's a well made video for the record.
Goodness gracious me, YT was NOT happy about having a comment this long lol
