Thank you for the memories My grandmother and mother always went by eye and never wrote recipe down Yours are so close to there's I now make every year
Had a good time watching your video, thank you for sharing family recipes. Excellent character and fun narrator. I love Italian ethnic and Italian food, I was raised around Italians, Greeks and Czech people.. 💕💕💕
Hi I grew up with these too. My cousin came over today and we made them. It’s such a great Italian tradition we look forward to every Christmas. Our recipes are very similar. Merry Christmas !!
Really enjoy your videos Hedy! You remind me soo much of my mom and aunts. They, like yourself, are all wonderful Italian cooks. Happy healthy Christmas and New Years to you and your family!
Dear Hedy, Graze A mile for this wonderful recipe and video. I am also Neapolitan and Sicilian. My grandmother would make this every Christmas and I would help when I was little. Unfortunately she passed away this year and I wanted to remake her Christmas sweets for our family. This video gave me the comfort and guidance for a successful batch, Thank you!
I lived in New York as a child and I remember eating these at my grandmother's. I could never remember what these were called much less how to make them. Thank you so much for making this video!
I'm glad I could bring back some fond memories. Too bad we lose some of the recipes with each generation. I made these videos with the intention of giving them to my children, but then I got requests so I made this channel. Enjoy!
I love you! All of my Italian family have passed. I love your little Italian phrases, I still use them too, but no one understands me. Struffola has always been my favorite, but no one made it. They bought it at Cammareri’s bakery in Bensonhurst, Brooklyn. Thank you for sharing and Merry Christmas 🎄🎁!
Merry Christmas Hedy. I was so excited to see your post just now. The Struffoli look delicious. I have never heard of them before. Wine cookies sound very interesting.
Very Nice! I make them too..your right, the younger generation don't appreciate them...id love to see you make your Easter pie...ive made it a few times.😁
Hi....I grew up with these.....Always on the table for the holidays. Being Italian they were a staple but my adult kids don’t like them 🤔 So sad......Merry Christmas, Hugs, Dolores 🎄☃️🎅🏻😊😘
What processor do you have? I need to buy a new one for the holidays this year and I have researched until my eyes are crossed and I have a migraine! I want one like yours.
itsjohndell Because I lowered the volume of the background music. Someone complained it was distracting. So I had to upload it again and the comments are on the old version.
Understood. Just to give you a laugh I'm down to two fishes for Xmas eve since i'm cooking for one. Baked Shrimp and Bay Scallop Scampi over Risotto Milanese, I will be posting the recipe over the weekend. But Woot.com had a special the other day, an entire Parma Ham Procsiutto of 10 pounds for $80. It arrives Thursday. My dried out salt dessicated corpse will be discovered sometime shortly after Christmas. Boun Natale e tutti Famigle , @@NannysItalianKitchen
as I said I make them very similar to yours, but you know, my mother's struf. were hollow inside, very airy..I don't know how she made them that way..possibly she used yeast in her dough..I wish I had her recipe 😊
Loraine Cisneros It’s always been enough when I make them. Did you use large eggs? If the dough needs a little more moisture you could add a little water.

I have a Cuisinart 14 cup processor.
You should use that spoon that you pulled them out with to put them in the oil to fry. Then you wouldn’t burn your hands. Looks delicious.
N F I do...watch the wine cookie video.
Buon Natale🎄🙋🏻🇺🇸🇮🇹
Great job Hedy but where’s the Tim Duncan jersey?
Hey, my earlier comment seems to have vanished, but thanks for the heart!

These kids can't even count back change nowadays much less no good food😂😂😂 I love that stuff lived in an Italian neighborhood in New York I miss it..

Try more baking powder.
@@NannysItalianKitchen oh!! Ok that makes sense..I'll try that thank you and have a wonderful Christmas 😊
I just made this and 4 eggs is not enough for the 3 cups of flour. I had to add 2 more eggs.

My mother refused to bait unless it came from a box mix! So by 8 years old I was baking and then by 10:
I was making full meals and baking.
She didn’t put sugar in the honey which is why the honey isn’t sticky enough to be able to pile the struffoli into a pyramid.
Make the wine cookies
I already did. th-cam.com/video/_5YdSS4Vvi0/w-d-xo.html
I don’t roll them. I cut and fry them
