A curated and detailed explanation of OPC-UA.
Thanks for developing this content. Glad to see you back :)
looking forward to the next part...
This is a really lovely video. I appreciate your style of explaining and visuals!
The best video for introduction of OPC UA, clear and easy to understand contents. Thank you very much
Thanks for the feedback, Jerome. I'm glad you found the video useful.
Such an amazing video!
It's held simple and easy to understand, yet everything important is said.
Great work, keep it up!
Thank you for watching and for the feedback, Timo. Much appreciated!
Wow. You have no idea how helpful your lecture is to me. Good job bro. I am working on a Franka Emika panda robot program for industry and I think this fundamental lecture puts me in a better position to make the right choice regarding opc-ua.
V good explanation,thanks
Great content! It really helped me to understand OPC-UA. Thank you!
Great presentation! Very pedagogical.
very lucid, beautifully explained. Only when you master a skill can such simplicity and clarity be possible. Thank you for your amazing videos and keep going!
Very good information! Exactly what I was looking for.
Thank you for sharing it.
Thanks for watching and for providing feedback, Diego. I'm glad you found the video useful.
Very clear explanation. Thanks.
Brilliant video. Well explained and easy to understand.
Really well made! Thank you so much to take your time for making these videos!😁👏
Very informative and the narration was very ordered and easy to follow!! Thank you so much
Thank you for this very comprehensive explanation. I hope you will publish part 8 soon :)
Thank you, detailed and understandable video of OPC UA
Thanks a lot, this is the only good video I could find about OPC. Helped me a lot.
Amazing effort ..keep going..it helps so many people who are working on Iiot architectures on manufacturing
Thank you for the feedback. I hope it does help a lot of people who are working on IIoT.
Hi, I tried to understand OPC/UA Node, Object, Node class and information model but it described really a complex way, and I was struggling to get the basic concept. Your videos are really helped me to understand the fundamental in a much simpler way. Thanks for your effort and keep doing good work.
Thaks a lot for symplified very complex concepts
Hey, very well explained, good work ! It is very useful for better understanding my role in what I've assigned to develop...
Very Good explain, I hope we will receive more videos
Thank you for good materaials
very nice video..i been working on DCS for powerplant with its Scada/HMI. this video helps me to integrate some other machines running OPC UA connected to my current system... thx to Industry40tv...stay safe...cheers
Great stuff Kudzi. I think this clearly shows the difference with earlier versions of web based SCADA/HMI applications. I like how this technology is merging OT and IT, which you would agree that they have been running somewhat in parallel. Am I correct, you could achieve +/- the same with an EDGE device via an MQTT broker as with an non edge device but with a UA compliant server? But as you mentioned, UA will give you a comprehensive data structure.
Yes, you are absolutely correct Pedzi, the same could be achieved with Edge Device running MQTT. The difference being that MQTT is only for transportation of the data and doesn't give you the semantics. MQTT in combination with Sparkplug does, however, does give a decent form of data structure.
Thanks for this info
thank u sir
I see total 11 videos on OPC UA ., But only 7 videos are listed in playlist. Please include the other 4 videos which complete the very detailed and lucid series on OPC UA
Amazing video, thanks for the content. New subscriber here.
Is there any chance that you could explain how to install and setup an OPC client in visual studio for communication with a PLC?
awesome video! Is UPC UA the only way for industry 4.0?
Thank you so much for this amazing video. I am struggling with some fundamental. Is the main idea for OPC-UA is data collection or is also for real time control. e.g. controlling a motor , synchronization between industrial controllers, turning on/off actuators, etc ? I mean is it a replacement to existing protocols as Ethernet/IP, Modbus, etc ?
Rajvir Singh
The main idea for OPC UA is not data collection, rather it is data exchange. Starting at the enterprise level, all the way down to field level data exchange. OPC UA FX is meant to replace all your fieldbus protocols.
Love
Thank you very much for this informative video , please I have question and your answer is very important to me , I am automation engineer and I working on programming PLC using HMI devices , now I want to create SCADA software using C# instead using Siemens Wincc , what do I need to study to success in my way , Can you guide me please ?!
What does OPC stand for?
Open platform communications, found it for others wondering
Thank you, ScienceBitch. It also used to be called OLE for Process Control.
Hi. Very good video! congratulations!
Do you know if we can send CSV file (500ko to 1Mo) with OPCUA? Can we use it like FTP? If yes, what type of file can be send thanks opcua?
Thanks a lot for your answers. Have a good day.
Thanks! When do you think you'll do 8 --> 11?
I have a doubt:if I have 2 devices that provide an OPC UA interface and 3rd device does not OPC UA interface. So can i use UMATI for 3rd device to convert it into OPC UA and then have horizontal communication between 3?
#Learnbydoing
Nice Insight, then whats the main differences between OPC UA and MQTT?
The main difference is the pattern of communication. PubSub vs Client-Server.
Let's say, I have a communication failure (over remote like cellular, VDSL etc.) with OPC server like 4 hour or so. Will the OPC-UA return lost values with their timestamps when communication back up? Or is there a communication protocol can do that?
Wow...very educative. How did you get this knowledge?
Thank you for the feedback, Jethro. it's mostly from research and experimentation!
Will you finish the playlist until part 11?
@@industry40tvonline your content is really valuable. Since you're targeting professionals I wouldn't mind paying for good courses on Udemy. Any plans to offer more in depth stuff that you'd also benefit from?
@@hamoudrodriguez2702 thanks for your interest. I'm glad you find my content valuable. Yes, I'll be publishing in-depth courses very soon.
If it’s not a protocol then what is it?
It is a standardised representation of information through its information modeling capabilities. The protocol is a part of it, but it is only used for transportation of the information, not its representation.
Please suggest free OPC UA software .
