I don't know why he left other than maybe his agent (and maybe the player himself) wanted a cut of the sign on fee with Barca. He was clearly happy at City, winning trophies, well respected and appreciated by the fans and the manager.
@@HaytersTV i guess so, it obviously didn't work, but maybe he'll say "nothing venture, nothing gain". If i were good enough to be an elite footballer, I'd probably have wanted to play in 2 - 3 different clubs in different countries throughout my entire career just to experience something different.

i think he wanted to try something new, its not really funny though. he joined a failing barca team, I doubt there was any illusion about the club's state just their mental ambition.
Went to have a relaxed season in Catalonia, think every player have a dream to play for Barca or Madrid once in their life, why not take it if it’s there
