intellectseeker Coz the engine is very refined and rev happy yet very fuel efficient and its the benchmark for reliability. Power is available when required and ride is very smooth and effortless at low revs for comfortable city rides.
You braked verna on tarmac and city on dirt road. Hence the difference. Plus honda city has a smaller power engine but it is more limear, and handling is definitely extremely better on honda city. And personally, i like the cabin noise, specially what honda city offers in its petrol variant, because it is extremely sporty, and you get the chills when you revv it hard. Verna is good but honda city is better. Plus interior is better on honda and quality, reliability,durability these are all traits of a true honda.

Drove both found city vx handling awesome, pickup superb, however Verna sx o felt little sluggish despite more power and torque. Steering feedback from Verna dead. Ride on bad tarmac was good on Verna beside that Verna did not excite me clutch play felt more than city in bumper to bumper traffic. Ventilated seats felt useless to be honest in peak summer. Rear legroom is humongous in city. Suggest which one. Daily drive of 97 KM's. Not interested in diesels. Verna has more tech compared to Honda. But does not have the wow factor of Honda.
Why are you not interested in diesel if daily drive is 97 kms. You'll cover about 35k kms in one year. You should definitely get diesel. Actually I didn't feel any 'dieselness' in verna when driving. It's only during idling you notice it's a diesel. Didn't feel any noticeable turbo lag. It pulls strong from 1500 rpm itself.
Dear bros...if we check Both cars overall, with all perspectives, honda city wins the competition .The inside SPACE, the sharp looks, the alloy wheels design ,smooth gear box & riding ,2 types steering adjustment,mileage, all aluminium engine (less chances of engine becoming hot), leg room, head room , premium beige interiors, all electronic buttons ,more boot space ,Also the doors are heavy & solid when u open or close & it feels best in its segment even till now. Verna has only extra advantage of cooled seats & automatic boot opener, & the main thing is space which we donot find in new verna..Find out yourself you will conclude the same..:)"

No matter what, Hyundai Verna can never match the class of Honda City, city is by far the best in class. Although some might say Verna would be a bit sporty but if we talk about the premium and luxury feel you must for HONDA CITY.

But here almost all are saying that for petrol version go for Honda city. But that require another 1 lakh in addition to my budget of 10 lakh for nearly same features. One of my biggest issues with this Verna is it's blind spots. There are a lot of them. Drove both Verna and City and I feel City feels more open and spacious from the inside and has a better visibility.
