This is extremely helpful! Are you able to link the value scale jpeg and link to the value scale card? Thank you! Looking forward to coming back to this exercise!
Paul, is the shadow inside the top end of the loo/toilet paper roll a cast shadow? And, if so, would it also be of the same value (from the same light source) as the external cast shadow? Unfortunately, you did not address this issue near the end of another excellent video from you.
I've just recently discovered your channel and it's fantastic.I've a question if you don't mind which is about michael hardings permanent orange v his cadmium orange.Do you know if his cadmium orange has a little more punch and would it be necessary to spend the extra on it or would the permanent do?
The permanent orange is actually better, in terms of higher chroma. It's more of a red orange, but you can easily send it a little more toward yellow orange with cad yellow.
Thank you so much. It makes so much sense, I really enjoyed this. You do an amazing job teaching
Thank you! I'm glad it was useful.

Thank's Paul.I appreciate the reply.
What kind of brush are you smoothing with?
Probably a Winsor and Newton Sceptre Gold, series 606. Or possibly a big watercolour wash brush.
