Thanks for the review. I really want to get this figure, but I'm hesitant to make the purchase as I'm afraid the rubber body will deteriorate, just as we've seen with the prior releases.
It will deteriorate whether you like it or not. Although you can prolong the deterioration by applying special grease etc. and by putting it away from sunlight or extreme heat. Even that doesnt give a 100% guarantee chance. I bought a Storm Toys Mike Tyson a couple months and joint in the ankle immediately cracked on the first ankle pose i tried.
Wow, that was a surprisingly quick release! It's definitely a beautiful looking figure, but the limitations are very disappointing. Congrats on your first Hot Toys Xenomorph!
I’ve been debating on purchasing this figure for a long time. However you brought forward a lot of good points about the articulation and rubber-plastic material that covers the main joints. I have the 1/4 scale Xenomorph warrior from NECA and I’d have to say, it looks like NECA is giving you way more bang for your buck in terms of articulation quality. So I guess it comes down to your collecting preference to go 1/6 scale, or 1/4...
i think alot toys making mistake on the blood, aliens blood should be white acid and predator is neon green color. But anyhow this is an awesome alien warrior
Looks great and have watched all of deans vids and yours twice. The articulation really bugs me.The paintwork and sculpting is better than the films props as mentioned.I will be getting this eventually as I love aliens but held of on the big chap because of the price. Then rubber issues became apparent and now people are selling cheap with the release of the 2.0 imminent. Will this one hold up over time?Probably not depending on handling and use of the jaw mechanism and forcing the suit into poses not recommended.I think I will just get the 1/4 necas.More bang for the buck.Congrats on your first xeno andre
looks cool but the price point seems too high. (I know what Hot Toys sell for new) but Neca 1/4 scale Big Chap easily holds up to this figure and was half the price and bigger./
I'm afraid Neca is no comparison in terms of detail to this figure. You must really look closely here. A lot of beautiful detail and interesting shades, which Neca just cannot come close to.
I agree the painting is very nice...(and thanks for not coming back aggressive.) Trust me I have no axe to grind with any of these companies. it's a shame a 1/6 scale toy isn't a bit cheaper....at $250+...this is good..not sure I am crazy about how glossy it is, would be the only other thing that bugs me a little...I am sure displayed it wouldn't be an issue.
with the neca one you can do almost any pose, with this one, well, seems just like the movie there is a guy inside the rubber alien suit, there is no way you can do any crawling pose, lame
I know Hot Toys pose of course, but I've always been weary of not getting carried away with it. When something costs $200,$250, $300, it's not too smart to be posing and over-extending any figure. If you really want to pose Neca is indeed probably the best way to go. I don't play with my figures and I treat them more like statues, even though I know they have possibility.
Awesome video and awesome sculpt. It's a shame this "seamless doll" version has such bad articulation. I live in Brazil and I would'nt pay R$:1500,00 for it ("ordinary" Alien figures used to cost R$: 150,00 at my time and were already very expensive)
Im happy with my MacFarlane Alien hard plastic figure I have had for over 12 years. And I get to keep its mouth open. I also only spent $40 on him. Cant see buying this for $300+ on ebay. Nope. My $40 Alien is AWESOME!!!
Beautiful detail. Amazing figure. Sadly the limitations just seem to out weigh the positive.

I agree. I feel like at this price we shouldn't have to worry about it deteriorating...

good review buddy. I believe the new material on the body is a type of PVC. Thanks for the review. Got mine on order.
The music is an awesome touch 🙂
Great review dude!

Not to mention the quality of pant app and sculpt looks almost just as good as a figure your essentially paying twice as much for.
exelente figura excelente review
Gracias! :)
Great review. Love the music in the background by the way.
Hot toys: here's an amazing looking xenomorph, with articulation and great detail. NOW DON'T EVER FUCKING TOUCH IT
I want one but I want more articulation everywhere
Excellent review!

You're right about that. Sure Hot Toys costs more, but the detail, sculpting and paint is far superior as well.
