I love reading, but I've been so busy lately that I sometimes have to resort to listening to audiobooks to get any sort of literature in my day. Finding great recordings like this one make the experience all the better.
As an academic librarian for over 10 years, I don't understand why people continue to make the distinction between reading and listening. If it helps you any, a librarian told you it's all the same thing. Just enjoy whatever it is you're taking it.

I absolutely LOVE the part where Cardinal Richelieu says "Damn! And I would have gotten away with it too if it wasnt for the Three Musketeers" and then conspires all over the place
thanks for having an accessible audiobook of this available i've been meaning to read this for a while. but find these days i do a little better with audiobooks rather than physical or reading directly
Thank you so much! This is great for me. My native language isn’t English, so sometimes I have trouble understanding what I’m reading. It helps a ton for someone to read it out loud while I read along with my book!
I just began reading this today and had trouble with the names. The narrator is smooth and easily comprehendible . What a great help this will be for my future reading. Thank you.
I never thought I'd find a classic that I might like more than Les Miserables. I actually find most classics really hard to read. But then I came across this story a couple of years ago, and OMG. I wanted to revisit it by audiobook, but greatly dislike the narrator of the version that I have. Soooo glad I found this. The most popular audiobook version of this has a narrator with an intolerable voice, so this is SO great. Seriously - I don't know how that other guy got the job, he had a voice made for photography. This story is amazing & this man, Marc Smith, does a great job.
Nah is okay. Everybody needs something to consistently eat great health and i think its okay if its a sabaki for Shaheen. He deserves it and im not even a Shaheen main. Im a Lars main.
I think his style of reading is very nice to listen to.. Also pronunciation in languages changes over the centuries, so who knows, maybe he is correct.. But i like listening to him read it, so, for me it's nice to hear..
p.s.. I'm far from perfect, in all ways, so I'm sorry if my comment is bugging.. My main thought is it's nice to listen to, and maybe pronunciation of words was different when the book was written, Best wishes to you..

THIS IS A LIBRIVOX RECORDING 🗣️
I wish I had read this book when I was a teen, it teaches you so much.
Nice reading Mark Smith of Simpsonville, South Carolina
I just began reading this today and had trouble with the names. The narrator is smooth and easily comprehendible . What a great help this will be for my future reading. Thank you.
he has trouble with the names too so that is not a great help.

Try la dame au camelia, it's a great classic, and writing style is similar Duma's since it's written by his son.
Also, check out the count of Monte Cristo if you haven't!
@@anamorph333 I heard it's not that great. In fact some say it's too vanilla.
What is o m g??
Its cause these "classics" are using contemporary language because they had to be translated into english
Thank you for this upload! Very helpful
Thanks for listening!

Can tell the reader has no clue how some names should have been said.

Anyone else starting to think the "good guys" are just a bunch of simps?🧐
Po?
Not a good start when the narrator can’t pronounce the author’s name correctly
Judging a book by its cover, how ironic
Not such a big deal, thanks to Mark for taking the time to record this.
He doesn't pronounce Librivox correctly either. He also had a very interesting pronunciation for the word "duchess" at one point as well.
