I love this guy…..Scottie…one of the most mentally tough person ever
Karma love him losing what low life.
What a Class Act this guy is. Hope they drop the charges.
Setbacks are part of life. Overcomming them is in the strength of the mind. Winner will find a way to win no matter what.
Scottie is a winner.
winner all right listen to the police saw tmz inmate what said use some humility that is not him
@@jimnorton4520 It's pretty clear that LMPD screwed this one up
What makes this case so sad is the way the police treated the best and nicest golfer in the world. Look at the police report and what was happening in espn video, we can see whether or not this golfer committed any of the 4 offenses.. Louisville police over reacted and should drop these charges for the integrity of this police department . Let show the world that Louisville police is fair to a good American citizen and the number one golfer. Thank you
They should apologize to Scottie
Huh? The two ESPN reporters on the scene were witnesses and recounted exactly what happened. Not good. Scottie is extremely lucky the officer he dragged for 20 yards was able to hang on and didn’t slip under the vehicle.
@@aland2465 why did the officer jump on his car? Over reacted big time!
Ummm because he refused to stop? He was lucky they didn’t shoot out his tires and draw guns.
Well, LMPD un-alived Breonna Taylor in their incompetence and corruption, so this kind of shenanigans comes as no surprise to me. They’re an embarrassment to law enforcement and the City of Louisville.
I would say winning the Masters was better than the PGA
I think most feel that way... even if they're categorized the same
Does a fat puppy fart? Yes they are both majors, but not a single gold categorizes them evenly.
What a class act. Wishing him all the best.
@@robertduffy7644 I’m not sure where you’re coming from. Do you believe he knowingly dragged a police officer with the car? Or do you think he didn’t realize what was happening? If he didn’t realize, and the charge gets dropped, will you continue to chalk that up to privilege?
LOL you believe he dragged an officer dangling off his driver side door for 20 yards unknowingly. I don’t even think his lawyer would make such a ridiculous claim.
@@aland2465Where did you hear 20? I heard 10, which equates to about two car lengths. In other words, it’s barely any distance. Either he heard someone on the car and freaked out thinking he was getting attacked, or he didn’t hear anything prior to stopping which is also plausible since it was dark and raining out. Either way there’s no chance he knowingly dragged an officer. Use your head.
From the reporter that was the prime witness and the police report. You sound like a lawyer making wild and logically absurd potential defence claims to raise reasonable doubt. But to believe these claims are the only two reasonable options on zero evidence is beyond the bale from an unbiased observer attempting to assess what is most likely.
“Beyond the pale”
We love you Scottie great round today. You're always in our prayers.
A First Class individual, after a terrible round Saturday, he finishes in top 10 in tournament, again. He's an amazing golfer, and it seems like a better person .
First class people do not drag police officers under their vehicle to get ahead of a traffic line. Just my opinion.
A criminal does fit your description.
@@aland2465Nice to see a sane comment.
If what he did at the gates had been in Australia the cops would have told him to go to the back of the line and wait your turn. The amount of charges he's facing for a misunderstanding is overkill America at its' best.
That's America for you. Now if this happened to some random middle class joe shmo he'd get convicted
Louisville is a garbage community
Welcome to policing in America my friend.
I know any other country should locked him up for the night this guy has no class.
@@jimnorton4520if that’s truly your take on Scottie scheffler then im not quite sure how you make it through life reading people so incorrectly
Look up the definition of "Grace" and you'll find a picture of Scottie!!
Do graceful people arrogantly step all over other people’s putting line?
Straightforward, humble, he definitely is champion material. Wish him the best.
How is assaulting a police officer and them lying and laughing about it without same humility? More like psychopathic behaviour.
Scottie for the US Open
Louisville making sure the PGA never comes back. What a garbage city
This was truly a disaster and I feel nothing but sadness all around for all parties that endured this mess. God bless Scottie you the man
@@brendonkelly9905 no sadness for the police department and DA who chose to over charge him. Stay out of Louisville.
get stepping
@@stefanharris659 First of all, it is the duty of the DA to "over charge" with as many offences that may be applicable, to be later withdrawn or downgraded if there is insufficient evidence to support. Secondly, the evidence known to date appears to reasonably support all charges.
We Are With You Champ 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
please give me a break this guy low life.
Hell yeah Scottie
This should be a lesson for anyone should they ever end up in this situation.
He handled it perfectly.
He didn’t cast blame just alluded to a big misunderstanding.
From the way he described it the officers couldn’t have been nicer to him at the jail.
Things in life happen it’s how you deal with it and react that demonstrates who You Really are!
what would you say to the officer?
Too funny. Quite a lesson to young people. Commit a crime in front of witnesses including media reporters and simply claim a misunderstanding.
Pro tip, this won’t work if you are not an athlete worth hundreds of millions to your industry.
Legend
If they drop the charges, then policing in America is pretty wild.
We already knew the policing is wild..where u been..i wish his attorney would sue them stinking p..s
He’s should recognize all the memes about him they were funny as hell.
Straight up guy , great player !!!!!
Except for lying about assaulting a police officer I suppose.
Birdie birdie birdie birdie, Scottie with the bounce back.
I think the policemen that arrested Scottie on the morning of the 2nd day should be investigated and examined for being really ignorant! They had absolutely no business doing what they did!
Are you serious?
The young man finally realized how much it was
The pga shouldn’t go back there.
I’m pretty sure the PGA made a deal to go back more often with the Governor, who was onsite Friday morning, in exchange for making the charges go away.
Completely understandable that a situation like that could have a huge effect on him. He's probably never been close to having a run-in with the law, so what happened Friday was probably scary and rattling for him. Golf is hard enough with outside distractions. If your focus is somewhere else that's a formula for a bad round.
This holier than thou narrative is getting old. Being a red blooded Jersey boy, I am sure he has had his fair share of run ins with the law. Heck even the most angelic people are bound to have been part of a traffic stop at some point in their lives, just that most of them obey officer instructions and thus don't end up in handcuffs.
Leave him alone!!
He was set up. No doubt.
YOU ALL PREDICTED A ROUT THIS WEEK HOWS THAT GO?
Hundred percent gambling nonsense
How so? Based on hearsay and conjecture? Wait on the facts and not from your perception. Scottie is a good man and believer. Trials are meant to strengthen our faith. Regardless on the outcome Scottie will come out on top
I love a good conspiracy theory!
Paranoid much
It sounds to me like an over selous police force that didn't communicate with each other. Throw these charges out. It must be so stressful on Scottie.
Wow,, not bad golfing still. Sounds like a for real deal
I think the loudest take here is the unseen that he didn’t say….he knows Satan meant it for bad but Jesus meant it for good….and in his world of Christian faith Yahweh wanted to teach him even more to have the right heart attitude and a grateful thankful attitude…he has that as we’ve seen but GOD wants more from him….end of the day he believes that everything has a reason and he’s already worked out that reason. Cmon…I mean its a Jesus miracle in itself the testimony of this champion golfer world no. 1….when do you see a golfer with a sixteen handicap swing rise to the very top of the game…The LORD works in mysterious ways.
I'm sorry this happened; however, if anyone can find a way through it, it is you Scottie. Your faith and family has touched 1,000s. Thank you for not only trusting in Jesus but trusting Jesus. I am part of your ripple effect. All in.
Yes Xander won. But it should be an asterisk win. He didn't beat the Number #1 player on the same mental footing. Being arrested by a trigger cop is traumatic.
Again, unless he’s a total fraud (which seems unlikely) or just had a moment of madness (which can happen), this appears to be just a complete misunderstanding.
What do you mean a total fraud? I keep hearing people who have never met the man say it couldn’t be true because he’s a great guy.
@@aland2465 just saying that he represents himself as a fairly normal, likable, low key guy. Bryson D or Patrick Reed appear cockier and selfish (on the outside). If that’s untrue, that would mean he’s a fraud.
He hasn’t really represented himself as anything since he basically keeps to himself. And the vast majority of people don’t tell the world they are bad people in camera voluntarily, I wouldn’t exactly call that fraudulent behaviour.
LIV officials would have never allowed their best golfer to be treated like this. Just saying.
Do you mean LIV officials do bribes and mob boss like threats to corrupt the police?? I bet they do with all their Saudi millions when they don’t fund Islamic radical propaganda and terror.
PIF only has that kind of pull in Saudi. Just saying.
Lock him up trying to run over a cop because he got confused give us a break
I haven’t heard enough details to make a fair judgement yet. Louisville PD also have a horrible track record in general so I’m not giving them the benefit of the doubt until it plays out in court and evidence is presented.
He was also charged with 4 offences. Too much corruption in how police were probably influenced I letting him make a tee time. Now I hear the prosecution might drop the charges haha golf pretends it has honour at its core and integrity but I wonder who called the cops paid bail etc???
I’m pretty sure he can pay his own bail. 🙄 And seeing how he’s not a flight risk with no previous offenses, I’m sure the bail was PR or very low.
Um. His lawyer.
You knew the fix was in once the Governor showed up at the course that morning up meet with the PGA.
Who's this felon.
LIV IS HE ANSEREW BROTHER. pga player gets assested lol what a joke
This is what brain rot looks like
Average LIV fan. Actual tweaker.
So because he got arrested he should join LIV? What kind of logic is that?
Did you have a stroke when you were typing that. Lol LIV IS HE ANSERW… assested.. your spell check might be broke
Yeah LIV does bribes to get the police on their side. Not surprising.
Personally I find the Scheffler as great guy a victim narrative completely bizarre, although unsurprising given the financial interests.
The man clearly was reckless and assaulted a police officer. The two ESPN reporters that were there clearly articulated the facts. He drop up on the median to try and jump the line. When told by officers to stop he did not, even after being shouted down by officers. After an office managed to latch himself to the side of the vehicle, he again attempted to drive away dragging the officer 20 yards. He is incredibly lucky the officer didn’t slip under the vehicle leading to much worse than second degree assault charges.
Anyone who said this was no big deal and not blameworthy because he is a great guy is off their nut.
Clearly he compounded this by not taking accountability and claiming he followed all directions of the officers. He has made two claims, ridiculous as they are to attempt to deny culpability. That he didn’t know the individual he nearly killed was a police officer and he followed the directions of the police.
The fist claim that he didn’t know a uniformed office was police needs know further explanation as to its absurdity. Even if he was so cognitively impaired, recklessly dragging any individual in such a manner is blameworthy.
The second claim that he was just following directions of a police officer is equally absurd. The claim is extremely unlikely based on the fact that the audio captured on the scene provides evidence that the only thing he said to avoid arrest was the claim that he didn’t know he was a police officer. Obviously if it were true that a police officer told him to drive over the median, he would have led with that. But the bigger point is even if it were true, it wouldn’t excuse liability for anything that followed. Just because one officer gives you one direction, that doesn’t give you the right to ignore all subsequent officers and directions, leading to the dangerous assault on another police officer.
Can you provide a link to any articles detailing this because I haven’t heard anything revealing this many details yet.
Get some sleep, internet justice warrior. Who do you think you are ? The judge?? You don’t know anything about the facts other than reading and watching all sorts of gossip and crappy journalists looking for some saucy scandal. Get a life and stop pretending to be the chosen one who knows more than others. You’re just pathetic, dude. Get a life in the real world.
Doubtful given the narrative spin. It was all clearly stated during the live broadcast around 9am EST and matched exactly what was stated in the released police report. The facts are clear and in no way uncertain.
@@aland2465 Considering your stance and conflicting info I am seeing, I believe you may be really disappointed tomorrow morning.
There is no conflicting information, only a misunderstanding narrative.
There is no chance he will not have all charges dropped and a parade in his honour given the media narrative. So there will be no disappointment, especially since I don’t care one way or the other. I understand the corrupt world we live in and have no personal dislike for Scheffer.
THUG
Nice to meet you, thug. Don’t be so hard on yourself. Get a life.
