    I know these are old. But man these are probly the best how to videos. Really informative on how to utilize the electronics. Something I'm trying to learn. Just learned more in 2 of your videos than i have in 6 months watching other videos.

    "LIVE" definately makes fishing those tree tops much more doable. It was a crap shoot back in the day, pre side imaging. You just had to fish from tree to tree and hope to get lucky. How did we ever do it??? 😉

    Hey Brandon, I used to fish Tims, Woods & Normandy. I lived in Estill Springs for 17 yrs. Retired so I spent a lot of time crappie fishing. Caught a bunch of fish two lbs and over biggest was a 2.48. Biggest I heard of was a 2.96 caught at Woods. Are there any three pounders in any of these lakes? Still on my bucket list.
    Thanks for the videos I really enjoy them!

    Thank you for putting out such high quality video's. I'm just getting into fresh water fishing but have done saltwater all my life. I''m currently getting setup for freshwater. I've bought a couple of graph's but haven't plunged into the bow trolling motor or forward sonar yet. Heck fishing cost more than playing golf! The question is which is more "fun"/productive, the front trolling motor with a spot lock system or a forward sonar? Thanks again.

    • @BrandonLesterFishing
      @BrandonLesterFishing  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I would probably pick forward facing sonar over a trolling motor with spot lock. Heck if you have to you can anchor when you find a good spot. Thanks for watching!

    Hey Brandon, great part 2. Just wondering if you have used the Lowrance Ghost TM. I noticed you use there graphs and they look great. Did not know if the TM worked better with there units or not? Thanks

    • @BrandonLesterFishing
      @BrandonLesterFishing  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I have several friends that run the ghost and they seem to like them. I don’t have any personal experience with them though. I know the ins and outs of the ultrex so I stick with it for now. Thanks for watching!

    • @NightrangerWDE
      @NightrangerWDE 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I have the same setup. I swaped from a fortrex to a ultrex. I looked at the ghost. 2 personal reasons I went with ultrex. 1 is the remote is much more advanced for trolling, it has cruise speeds so yo can set it for the exact speed and a few other options. 2 is I much prefer the one piece shaft of the ultrex for sonar wires you don't have to leave a loop halfway up the shalt to get caught on something. The ghost shaft is just like the fortrex shaft.

    Awesome followup Brandon. I want to get you some of my hand tied jigs. My wife use to teach in Fayetteville at Ralph Askins and we live just south of there in Hazel Green. One day if you have some time let me know and I will bring you some. I have been tying jigs for family and friends for about 15 years but I b is starting to get out of hand if you know what I mean. Not far from you and I know you have fished it but Piercy Preist Lake is a great crappie lake. I fish it a lot along with Tim's Ford and the Cumberland. Heck I fish everywhere in the southeast. Anyway, Thanks for sharing your knowledge and being so open. Not many anglers share like you do. Take care and Merry Christmas to you and you're family. Stay safe and tight lines.

      Anything over 11.5 is where you want to be from what I’ve seen. Try cleaning your screen with a good screen cleaner if you haven’t. It sounds simple but it helps tremendously. Also try different color palettes. Everyone’s eyes see things a little bit different.

    • @matthewc9965
      @matthewc9965 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@BrandonLesterFishing so the trolling motor has to be pointed towards your fishing target. Do you have problems with this or would it be better to have it on its own dedicated assembly. Thanks for sharing!

    • @BrandonLesterFishing
      @BrandonLesterFishing  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I could see pros and cons both ways. If crappie were my primary species that I targeted I would probably look at a separate mount so you could spot lock and keep the transducer in one place. Being primarily a bass fisherman I think you can be more efficient and cover more water with it mounted to the trolling motor.

    Just sickening!! It was fishing until the livescope type of equipment was being used!! It will do nothing but clean a lake out!! Thank goodness most fisherman aren't going to pay 1500.00 for a fishfinder. If it gets in the price range of 200.00 dollars, you better enjoy fishing right now!! Come to northwest pennsylvania and see what just regular fishermen have done to the lakes!!! Fish commission made a major mistake allowing people to catch 50 fish a day!! There are about 15 major lakes and you can hardly catch any panfish!! Too many retirees and too many campgrounds around the lakes. I could float a pickel barrel with active/live scope target and catch fish!!! Nothing more than a sonagram. Better learn to catch and eat frogs because that is all that is going to be left!!

    Fishing ain't fishing anymore. Real fishermen dont use electronic equipment. We never use fish finders because we know how to fish. Using all that fancy equipment is about like hunting deer in a high fence. That's not hunting to me.
