I think AFK might have a little bit of potential to fit in this sort of deathrattle Warlock deck. I think it is still too costly but "summon X" deathrattles in general have a bit of synergy to work with it.

Yep, so you replay all of the cards you played this game. And if you don't pick a warlock hero, you also get all the warlock cards. Rogue is going to be my favorite class, with warlock and DK close 2nd an 3rd.

announce darkness could end up being included to maybe salvage/highroll a terrible matchup if you have like 6+ neutrals in ur deck or just adding value/tempo, like it doesnt seem bad cost wise
I know I’m living in a dream world, but here’s the plan: You spend 4 mana to kill an opposing minion, then summon your a 1/6 Imp. Next, for 2 mana, you scar the Imp, transforming it into a 6/6 and drawing three cards. So, for a total of 6 mana, you eliminate an opponent's minion, draw three cards, and end up with a 6/6 creature. It sounds pretty solid to me, but of course, everything needs to align perfectly.
Thief rogue with spectral cutlass can use fearless flamejuggler to drop some cheap threats. I get my weapon usually to a 12 damage easily which means breakdance would go CRAZY. Also announce darkness once cutlass is established and viper is gone is good too for late game
Since the DK cards are revealed, I think that the deathrattle package overall just needs more activators to be good, you are really reliant on getting either Eliza (new DK legendary) or Horizon's edge to really start making your deathrattle tokens a threat beyond the intial 6/6 taunt or 4/4 (from an egg). Eat The Imp is good card draw to find those cards, however if you're able to draw any of those 3 cards consistently, I think there are just better uses for those resources like in Painlock. It's also possible the whole deathrattle thing gets completely cut for a cycle-token based deck with Horizon's edge (Eliza to a lesser extent), that card just seems insane.
Play ourobos with a single 1 mana minion in your hand and darkmarrow on the field, ouro dies immediatly and gives double deathrattle to the minion in your hand, you play that and it died immeddiately and summons 4 ouroboros. The problem is you don't have any minions left in your hand for your 4 ouroboros when your opponent kills them...
The imp is effectively a 3 mana 1/6 with taunt. Sure, it isn't great, but that's absolute worst case scenario since if they DON'T kill it you can get quite a few 6/6s. Also, the taunts that pop out can be brought back with Endgame where even the current 4/5s excavates are annoying enough for aggro.
Announce Darkness may never be played in an actual deck but I am sure it will screw me over when Yogg casts it randomly and nukes my entire deck. Wheel of Death is my other favorite Yogg hit.
Imagine this. Its turn 7. You're playing warlock. You play A.F.Kay for 5 mana. You play 2 Party Fiends for 2 mana flooding your board. Thats 18/18 worth of stats on the board + a A.F.Kay (If it works like I think it does). Then you concede because you remember this is 2024 hearthstone.
My question with announce darkness it: is it only the base warlock hero power, or does it include other ones like the upgraded one or blood-reaver gul'dan's?
It’s probably like Genn where the cost reduction is applied exclusively to the initial Life Tap. It’s not a constant -1 cost aura to your Hero Power, it’s a permanent discount on the one you currently have equipped.
I think Rarran's understanding Sacrificial Imp completely wrong lol. 6:55 "If your opponent does kill this you also get a 6/6" That is very much *not* how that works.
The card itself technically doesn't deal damage, it just subtracts from your current life like Fatigue does, so cards that track damage dealt don't recognize it for whatever reason. It sounds like a coding issue that was left in because they figured it would be more balanced that way.
@Brutalyte616 Actually they actively changed it after the rotation of Stealer of Souls (or whatever the name of the 4 2/6 that makes your drawn card cost health), to be more free from the bane that's The Demon Seed.
Idk what chat is smoking saying Vona is slow. It isn't impossible to have it live on curve where you play a 6 mana 12/12 that literally wins you the game against anything aggro. Also, imagine saying a card is bad because "Reno just poofs it bro". Okay they literally every minion is unplayable garbage if we are setting that as the standard.
Uh... Wait a sec... Does Genn Greymane stack with Announce Darkness? If it does, that means you if you run even and play Announce Darkness, you get a Warlock hero power that's not even necessarily the standard Warlock hero power, which also costs 2 less mana, and every neutral, Rogue, or Death Knight card in your deck is converted into a random Warlock card that costs 1 less... I'm not saying that's competitive, but that sounds like an insane, incredibly unpredictable and surprisingly flexible strategy for Rogue or Warlock.
@@grit1 ... This requires testing. The Mandela Effect might be biting me in the ass here, but I could swear that Genn's effect just adds a -1 mana cost to whatever hero power you have for the rest of the game, even if you use a hero card or something to give yourself a new hero power.
